Chapter 832
"No need to worry about it, I know you were just following orders too." Cassie glanced at Joseph. "Why did you beat him like that? Travis and the others were just following your arrangements, weren’t they?"
Joseph's heart ached terribly, but he didn't dare say a word. After all, Cassie was right.
Travis looked at Joseph's frustrated expression, he was particularly shocked. It was the first time he had seen Joseph so humble in front of a woman. Even Megan never had this kind of treatment before. It seemed he would have to respect Cassie more in the future.
"Mr. Hernandez, Athena is in the torture chamber." Leroy also came over trembling, his buttocks beaten to the point of bleeding profusely, still hurting.
"Okay," Joseph agreed and led Cassie inside.
In the torture chamber. Since being called back, Athena had been brought here and her phone was taken away immediately, the sense of unease in her heart growing stronger.
"Get out of my way now, I have to go to the hospital," Athena sternly said sternly to the people at the door. "Mr. Hernandez assigned me to protect Miss Ray, don't delay me."
"You must wait here. Mr. Hernandez will be here soon," the guard said in a low voice.
"What did Mr. Hernandez call me here for, I haven't done anything wrong." Athena angrily protested.
"Is that so? Are you sure you haven't done anything wrong?" Joseph scoffed. And then he kicked the door open, leading Cassie in with a handsome face exuding a cold aura.
"Mr. Hernandez..." Athena called out and felt uncomfortable seeing Cassie next to Joseph. But as a subordinate, Athena dared not shout loudly. She just felt heartbroken for Megan, who was alone in the hospital.
Being a woman herself, Athena thought Joseph was really ruthless.
Travis and Leroy walked in, bruised and battered, and said with, "Athena, Mr. Hernandez already knows what you did the last time you had Cassie sign the divorce papers."
Athena trembled in fear. She had almost forgotten about that incident, and she didn't expect that Cassie still remembered it. For a moment, her hatred for Cassie surged to the extreme. "What did I do? I don't even know myself. Didn't Mr. Hernandez order me to search Cassie?"
"Is that so?" Cassie smirked. "Then do you remember that day you whispered in my ear that you wanted to strip me naked and let everyone have a good look at me bare?"
Joseph's expression changed abruptly. If gaze could kill, Athena would have died countless times in Joseph's eyes. "Did you say such things?"
"I didn't. You’re slandering me." Athena vehemently denied it. "Cassie, you can't frame me just because I am protecting Miss Ray. I was just following Mr. Hernandez's arrangements."
Cassie chuckled and looked at Joseph. "Athena is implying something to me, it means if there's any blame, it should be on you, not her."
"I didn't." Athena was extremely frightened, shaking her head vigorously.
But Joseph also heard it. He stepped forward and kicked Athena hard, sending her flying and crashing to the ground, too painful to get up for a while.
"Mr. Hernandez, you can't do this," Athena said palely as she lay on the ground. "It was you who ordered me to search for the marriage certificate, and it was also you who ordered me to protect Miss Ray. I haven't done anything wrong. Cassie clearly harbored resentment against me long ago, and now that Cassie can't deal with Miss Ray, she's causing trouble for me. Your actions are not convincing."
Joseph's eyes narrowed, and the muscles on his body tensed up in anger.
Cassie's delicate body suddenly leaned against Joseph, looking up at him with a light smile. "Isn't it said that members of the Dragon obey the orders of the Hernandez family without question? It seems that your subordinates is not so obedient after all."
Athena was startled and hurriedly defended herself. "Don't talk nonsense. Our family has been loyal to the Hernandez family since my grandfather's time."
