Chapter 1804 She's Not Playing with Me Anymore, I'm Not Used to It
"It's none of your business which man I'm with."
Nina hung up the phone, her voice cold and impatient.
Milan gave her a thumbs-up. "Impressive."
Nina looked at him, exhausted. "What do you want?"
"Nothing much, just making him think you have a boyfriend so he'll stop bothering you." Milan smiled smugly. "So, you owe me one again."
Nina was speechless and didn't want to talk.
His favors were too easy to owe.
Oh well, she already owed him enough; a few more wouldn't hurt.
Lucas checked the time on his phone.
11:25 PM. She was still with Milan this late? Just the two of them?
What were they doing? Talking? Having sex? Sleeping?
Lucas wasn't a naive man; he didn't believe a man and a woman would just talk late at night.
For some reason, the thought of Bernice in another man's arms made Lucas's chest swell with anger.
He wanted to kill someone.
It wasn't just possessiveness; it was something else.
He hadn't felt this way in a long time, only remembering it vaguely from when he was with Nina.
Damn it, he hadn't even conquered Bernice yet, and she wasn't allowed to be with anyone else but him.
Lucas suddenly stood up, grabbed his car keys, went downstairs, and sped towards Bernice's villa.
11:40 PM.
Nina was dozing off against the car window.
Milan glanced at her quietly while stopped at a red light.
She looked relaxed, her eyelashes fluttering in the streetlight, her skin delicate, with a few strands of short hair falling on her slender neck.
Milan quickly looked away, his heart racing, then he chuckled.
He was too familiar with Bernice's face, but it had never made him feel this way before. He had always seen Bernice as a friend.
Since the soul inside changed, his feelings for her had changed, too.
To him, Nina was like a star in the sky.
Even though he was working hard and had achieved some success, Nina was still the highest, most unattainable place in his heart.
People said she was ruined by Lucas.
To him, she was always clean.
He didn't dare to be abrupt because he feared his passion would push her further away.
After arriving at the villa, Milan quietly took the car keys from her bag, opened the electric gate, and drove the car inside. He then got out, walked to the passenger side, and gently picked her up.
As soon as he lifted her, Nina woke up.
Her beautiful eyes were a bit confused, but quickly cleared.
"Don't get down; I'll carry you up." Milan smiled. "You're so light."
"Put me down." Nina was uncomfortable being carried like that by a man.
Milan looked at her quietly for a moment, then sighed and put her down. "It's too late. Let me crash on your couch for the night. It's not safe for me to go back in the dark."
Nina glanced at his muscular build. "I think it's more unsafe for others to see you."
"Good point." Milan nodded seriously. "Then I definitely shouldn't go back. I might scare someone."
"And you staying here won't scare me?" Nina pointed out.
"We're so familiar; how could I scare you?" Milan grinned, showing a row of white teeth.
Nina sighed. Sometimes, darker skin made teeth look whiter. "Suit yourself."
"Just give me a blanket, and I'll sleep on the couch." Milan breathed a big sigh of relief.
As soon as they went inside and turned on the lights, the doorbell rang.
"Who's coming to see you this late?" Milan walked to the screen and saw Lucas outside. His handsome face immediately turned displeased. "See, it's a good thing I decided to stay tonight. Otherwise, it wouldn't be safe for you alone."
Nina frowned at the screen. "Ignore him. He won't dare come in."
With that, Nina went upstairs to take a shower.
Just as she entered her room, a deafening voice came from outside through a loudspeaker. "Bernice, I know you're home. If you don't open the door, I'll play music outside your house until the whole neighborhood can't sleep."
Nina was speechless.
She hadn't expected Lucas to be this shameless.
The next moment.
Lucas's magnetic voice sounded again, "Now, let's all enjoy some music."
Nina almost tripped.
Then, Nina's phone rang. It was the property management, pleading, "Ms. Ramsey, could you and Mr. Nelson resolve your issues privately? Don't disturb the residents. They're asleep, and we can't afford to offend Lucas, so we had to call you."
"Sorry for the trouble. I'll handle it."
Nina said as she walked downstairs.
Milan, with an unhappy face, cursed, "I thought I was shameless enough, but I didn't expect someone to be even more shameless. Nina, wait here. I'll go open the door and beat him up."
"You want to get court-martialed?" Nina glared at him. "Go open the door and let him in."
"Should I pretend to be your boyfriend?" Milan suggested. "Make him think you're my girlfriend so he'll back off and stop bothering you."
Nina hadn't planned on doing that, but she couldn't figure out Lucas's intentions. She thought for a moment and nodded.
Milan was delighted and immediately went out with a smile.
Even if it was just pretending, he was happy.
As soon as the door opened, Lucas got out of the car with a cigarette in his mouth, but he saw Milan first instead of Bernice.
"You're sleeping here tonight?" Lucas took the cigarette from his mouth, his eyes narrowing slightly.
"Lucas, your behavior is disturbing the peace. You're a CEO; isn't this childish?" Milan took down the loudspeaker from the car and turned it off, making the neighborhood quiet again.
"I am pretty bored," Lucas said leisurely. "Bernice used to be so much fun. She even got me thrown in jail. Now she's not playing with me anymore, and I'm not used to it. What do you suggest?"
"She's my girlfriend now. Stop bothering her." Milan's face turned cold as he suddenly stepped in front of him.
They were about the same height, but Milan's years of training made him more muscular. Lucas's handsome face seemed a bit more delicate in comparison.
"Girlfriend?" Lucas's eyes darkened, and he suddenly chuckled. "Then tell me, where's the most beautiful mole on Bernice's body?"
