Chapter 725
Joseph was speechless.
He knew Sophia must be referring to the safe box. Three years ago, Cassie lived in this room, and she set the password for that safe box.
After Cassie left, many of her belongings were taken away from the room, except for that safe box, which remained unopened due to the unknown password.
He had never paid attention to it, let alone thought of opening it. But unexpectedly, the little one accidentally opened it.
"This is a necklace," Joseph said hoarsely.
"Is it yours?" Sophia asked curiously.
"I'm not quite sure." Joseph couldn't recall, "but I probably know whose it is; I'll return it to her."
"Okay." After handing the necklace to him, Sophia went to wash her face.
It wasn't until breakfast that Liam walked over, picked her up, and whispered through gritted teeth, "Sophia, would Cassie be furious if she knew how much you like Joseph?"
"Dad, please don't tell her."
Liam felt helpless. "It's hard for you to remember that I'm your dad now. Since Joseph came back yesterday, you've only had eyes for him, even sleeping in his room at night. Please control your emotions."
"You misunderstand me. I'm doing this to set a trap," Sophia explained. "I want to teach that malicious Megan a lesson on behalf of Cassie."
Liam sighed in resignation. "I beg you not to cause trouble. Cassie told me to take you and Oliver to the same daycare," Liam said.
"That's good. I happen to have a black bank card to give to Oliver," Sophia said earnestly.
Liam felt exhausted taking care of a child.
Before long, other members of the Hernandez family also came out for breakfast.
Juliette saw the beautiful jewelry box next to Joseph and couldn't resist opening it, exclaiming, "Isn't this the Queen's Heart?"
Joseph frowned and looked at her. "What is the Queen's Heart?"
"Could this be meant for Megan?" Juliette said enviously.
"I heard that the Queen's Heart was designed by the former king of F country with the top designer, taking two years to create. Legend has it that giving the 'Queen's Heart' to a beloved woman ensures they stay together forever. Even girls from top-tier families like us desire this necklace," Juliette explained.
Joseph asked, "If you liked it, why didn't you buy it yourself?"
"Women don't usually buy it themselves; it's usually men who buy it for them," Juliette replied. "I heard that this necklace was auctioned off for 75 million dollars at a Madison auction a few years ago."
75 million?
Joseph's heart stirred. A few years ago, Cassie definitely didn't spend 75 million on this necklace. Could it be that he bought it and gave it to Cassie?
But how could he have done such a thing before, and now he couldn't even remember.
After breakfast,
Joseph got into the car and instructed the driver as they left Snowford Evergreen, "Go to Peace Group."
At half past nine in the morning,
Cassie had just dropped Oliver off at the daycare and arrived at the company. As she was about to head upstairs from the parking lot, she saw a black car parked sideways at the elevator entrance.
Joseph leaned against the car, showcasing his elegant and graceful figure from his hair to his legs.
Fortunately, it was already past working hours; otherwise, Cassie could imagine that all the female employees in the company would stay to admire Joseph.
"What are you up to again?" Cassie walked over in high heels, pointing at his car with her fair fingers. "This is not a parking spot."
Joseph looked down at her. Today, the woman was completely natural, without makeup, which not only didn't diminish her beauty but instead highlighted her clean face. She was truly beautiful.
He unbuttoned a button on his shirt and suddenly felt a bit thirsty.
