Chapter 1303 Do You Want to Be My Girlfriend?

Joseph's eyes went wide with confusion.

Michael locked the door, pulled a memory card from his pocket, and popped it into the computer.

A few seconds later, some seriously intense images flashed on the screen.

Joseph was totally floored, feeling like he'd just been hit by a truck.

His face went beet red in a heartbeat.

He had no clue what was going on; he just felt his face burning and his heart pounding.

"Whatcha think?" Michael chuckled, "Only a real buddy would show you this."

12:30 p.m.

Cassie whipped up her signature dishes herself.

Laura, who hadn't been dealing with morning sickness lately, was starving. She couldn't resist grabbing a big shrimp with her fork and chowing down, then said, "Your cooking's way better than our housekeeper's. Where the heck are Joseph and Michael? It's not like Michael to hang out with amnesiac Joseph for this long without getting bored."

Cassie gave a weird smile, "Maybe he's filling Michael in on some old stuff."

"You haven't told him you two were married and the kids are his?" Laura asked, shocked.

Cassie shook her head, "I wanna take it slow. I'm scared he can't handle it. Plus, if I tell him, he might feel like he has to step up. That's not what I want."

"Oh no, Michael must've spilled the beans. Before we got here, he said he was prepping something for Joseph, but he showed up empty-handed. What's he up to?" Laura got curious about what Michael had planned.

"Forget it. They got their secrets, just like we do. I'll have Rosalind call them for lunch."

Cassie didn't think much of it.

After setting the table, Joseph and Michael came downstairs, both looking flushed.

Michael seemed fine, but Joseph was different. His eyes were all over the place, and when he saw Cassie, he shyly looked down, like he'd done something wrong.

"What were you guys doing upstairs?" Cassie asked, curious.

Joseph got all jittery and knocked over the bowl in front of him.

He quickly set it back up, his face bright red, "N-nothing."

"Doesn't look like nothing," Laura gave him a weird look and then turned to Michael, "You weren't teaching him how to hit on other women, were you?"

"Am I that bad?" Michael looked hurt, "Sure, I didn't get along with Cassie before and said a lot of crap, but I've seen how good she is to Joseph. How could I teach him to chase other women?"

"I'll give you that." Cassie smiled and handed Laura a shrimp, "Besides, he couldn't teach Joseph even if he tried."

"True, considering he's always getting played by women." Laura nodded in agreement.

Michael sighed, "Enough already."

Just as he finished, he noticed Joseph giving him a look of pure disdain, like, "So you're that useless."

Michael said, "Let's eat. The food's awesome."

Joseph kept his head down, eating, until a piece of fish landed in his bowl.

He looked up and saw Cassie giving him the fish before turning to chat with Laura. In the bright living room, her face looked like it was straight out of a painting.

Suddenly, those steamy images from the computer flashed in his mind.

Laura suddenly gasped, "Whoa, Joseph, why are you having a nosebleed?"

Joseph glanced down and saw a few drops of blood in his bowl. He touched his nose and freaked out.

Joseph thought, 'Am I sick or something?'

"Come on, let's get you cleaned up." Michael quickly led him to the downstairs bathroom.

Once inside, he wet a tissue and wiped Joseph's nose, saying with a smirk, "Seriously? What kind of dirty thoughts were you having back there?"

Joseph looked at him, shocked, "How did you know?"

"With those lustful eyes you were giving Cassie and then suddenly having a nosebleed, how could I not know? Been there, done that." Michael said awkwardly. He used to be the only one like this, but now Joseph was too. Misery loves company, right?

Joseph stayed quiet.

Great, he thought he was sick.

"Clean up and stop thinking those thoughts." Michael reminded him.

"Okay." Joseph nodded.

Back in the dining room.

Laura leaned over to Cassie, whispering, "I saw Joseph looking at you with those lustful eyes earlier, and then he had a nosebleed."

"Are you overthinking it?" Cassie gave her a skeptical look, "He's like a blank slate now, super innocent."

"Really? But Michael said he's recovered. Are you sure you don't wanna take this chance to fix your, uh, sex life?" Laura teased.

"Get lost, you shameless thing." Cassie quickly glared at her, "You could go find Michael too."

"I wouldn't go to him." Laura said, just as Michael and Joseph returned.

After lunch, Michael and Laura hung around until 3 p.m. and then left. Joseph was then taken to his class by the professor.

In the evening, while the kids were playing with toys, Cassie pulled Joseph into a nearby bedroom and said seriously, "From now on, you should sleep in this room."

"Why?" Joseph didn't get it. He thought they were lovers, so sleeping together seemed normal.

"Before, you slept with me because you couldn't do much and had poor self-care skills. You've improved a lot in the past couple of days, and you're a man, so it's better for you to sleep here." Cassie explained.

Joseph blinked, "But before, when you helped me bathe, when I was uncomfortable bathing, and when we hugged to sleep every night, you didn't say it was wrong."

Cassie's face turned red and she explained, "Back then, you had the self-care skills of a toddler. I had no choice."

"So at two years old, you could kiss me passionately?" Joseph looked at her with innocent eyes.

Cassie felt super embarrassed under his gaze.

"I looked it up on my phone," Joseph exposed her, "The things you did to me before are things only couples or spouses do. You told me not to see you as an elder, that you didn't want to be my elder. Do you want to be my girlfriend?"
