Chapter 645
He suspected that Cassie was teasing him again.
"You two discuss it privately." The police officer suggested and coughed lightly, looking embarrassed.
Joseph glared at Cassie, blaming her for his embarrassment.
"Alright, thank you. Sorry for the interruption." Cassie walked out of the police station gracefully in high heels.
As Joseph followed her out, she presented her bank card number. "Let's make the transfer," she said.
Each time he was with her, Joseph's blood pressure soared. "Wait, wasn't it eight hundred dollars? How did it become three thousand eight hundred dollars?"
"The money for my shoes." Cassie looked at him matter-of-factly, explaining, "Those canvas shoes, an international brand I just bought, cost three thousand eight hundred dollars."
"You hit me with a shoe and still require me to compensate you?" Joseph accused.
"But you can hit back. Who told you to throw it out the window." she retorted.
As the top lawyer in Madison, Joseph didn't know how to counter Cassie's sophistry at that moment.
"Hurry up, I'm busy and have an appointment."
"Who are you meeting, Billy?" Joseph's eyes narrowed.
Cassie suddenly took two steps closer to him.
Already close, this time, Cassie was almost pressed against him, and Joseph could smell the fragrance on her.
Joseph was stunned, his rational mind telling him to step back, but the scent of Cassie made him intoxicated. " Cassie, what are you up to?"
"I should be asking you that, Joseph, do you actually have feelings for me?" Cassie questioned .
Joseph looked at her as if hearing a joke, and Cassie suddenly put her fingers on his thin lips.
He felt as if a current from her fingers surged through his body like an electric shock.
He froze in place.
"You keep saying you want a divorce from me, yet you still control me tightly. You say you don't want me to cuckold you, but isn't your heart only thinking of Megan? When you left her to find me, did you consider if Megan would mind, or did you instinctively ignore her feelings? Are you very disgusted... with me being with other men... hugging, kissing, even making love."
Cassie said the last two words softly and seductively.
Joseph's heart skipped a beat. He pushed her away, his eyes flashing with angry and embarrassment.
"Are you dreaming, Cassie? I've clearly told you I have no place for you in my heart. All men have their pride. As long as you divorce me immediately, do whatever you want with any man. I don't care."
"Really?" Her eyes were seductive.
"Absolutely." Joseph said instinctively, " Cassie, let's part amicably; I only love Megan, and I want to make her happy."
The air quieted for a moment. Cassie smiled, his seriousness making her seem more ridiculous.
"What are you laughing at?" Joseph frowned and asked.
The sunlight fell on Cassie's face through the treetops.
Megan was also beautiful, but compared to Cassie, her eyes lacked a bit of brightness and agility.
Usually, Megan always wore exquisite makeup on her face; sometimes, Joseph felt she had two different looks before and after removing the makeup. Unlike Cassie, she wore light makeup.
"Nothing, just return the money." Cassie showed her bank account number again.
Annoyed, Joseph transferred the money to her.
"By the way, if you really want to part amicably, you shouldn't prevent me from contacting my suitors. Only when I have a stable relationship will I immediately divorce you. You should encourage me." Cassie waved her hand and walked down the stairs.
Soon, a black sports car drove up. Billy opened the window, nodded at Joseph, and then drove off with Cassie.
