Chapter 675
"That bastard Felix," Vera choked up, "Let Atlas help you. Once you take back the Leo Group, the Chamberlain's family will hold you in high regard."
"Mom, Dad and I will be waiting for you outside," Luna said, tears streaming down her face.
At the hospital, Sie was accompanying Leo for his IV treatment. After Vera's arrest, although Leo felt a sense of relief, the stress caused his health to deteriorate again, and he was currently in the hospital for treatment.
Not long after, Chapman and Margaret also arrived. Seeing Leo in such a state, Margaret immediately burst into tears. "That Vera is utterly heartless. How could we have treated her so well all these years? The car accident you had three years ago must have something to do with her. Luckily, we had Sie take care of you back then, otherwise..."
Chapman shuddered at the thought and sincerely thanked Sie, "The Leo Family owes you so much."
Sie gave a faint smile without saying a word. "Chapman, you don't need to feel guilty. I never had any expectations from the Leo Family, so I was never disappointed."
"You..." Chapman was momentarily angered.
Margaret pulled Chapman aside. "Sie is right. Our actions indeed left much to be desired. It's my fault for opposing Leo and your mother being together back then. I'm truly sorry."
Chapman, feeling embarrassed, clenched his fist and coughed lightly. "Your grandmother is right. You should visit the Leo Family mansion often. It will always be your home."
Sie was slightly taken aback, feeling very conflicted. When she first came to Whisperlyn City, she had hoped her grandparents would say such things, but they never did. She had always been cautious, forever feeling like an outsider.
At that moment, there was a sudden knock on the door, and Luna pushed Atlas in.
"What are you doing here?" Leo, upon seeing them, started coughing violently in anger.
"Leo, don't get agitated," Chapman said, pointing outside at Atlas and his daughter. "You two have the nerve to come here? Get out."
"Grandpa, we're here to apologize. I really didn't know about the things my mom did," Luna said, looking up with teary eyes and a face full of grievance.
"You didn't know?" Sie sneered. "You were the one who always took Dad for his check-ups. You and your mother must have been in cahoots for a long time. This time, Vera took all the blame, and you got lucky."
She then looked at Atlas. "Atlas, I'll still call you that out of courtesy. If I were you, I'd be too ashamed to show here. If my dad had died from the poisoning, the Leo Group would have been yours and your daughter's. Vera is going to prison for you."
Atlas twitched and said, "How could I do something so heinous as to kill my own brother? Brother, I'm here to kneel and apologize. All these years, I've been blinded by Vera. I've made too many mistakes."
As he spoke, he struggled to get up from his wheelchair to kneel, but his legs gave out, and he fell to the ground, looking utterly pathetic.
"Dad," Luna cried, rushing to help him up.
"Luna, help Dad kneel," Atlas insisted.
Margaret, despite everything, couldn't bear to see her son like this. "Your legs are crippled. How can you kneel? Get up."
"Yes, my legs are crippled," Atlas cried with his head down. "Since I was born, people have looked down on me because I'm a cripple. I was both grateful to and jealous of my brother. I loved Vera, but she didn't care for me. For decades, I've loved no other woman but her. I gave everything for her without regret. I thought if I got the Leo Group, she would love me. I was wrong. Now I finally understand her true nature. Mom, Dad, Brother, I was wrong."
Margaret's eyes reddened with tears, and she said with a heavy heart, "It's all my fault. I shouldn't have given birth to you, making you live such a painful and self-deprecating life."
