Chapter 1633 Wasn't My Reaction Obvious Enough?
Laura finished speaking crisply, immediately met with Derek's angry reprimand.
"Laura, are you trying to drive me crazy?"
"It was your suggestion, I can only consider it," Laura grumbled.
"Laura." Derek, usually calm and composed, was now visibly annoyed.
"Alright, alright, I was just joking," Laura didn't dare to continue, "I just think you're too boring."
"I'm boring?" Derek laughed angrily, "If it were me, and a beautiful, outstanding woman was around, and I said we were just friends but met frequently, wouldn't you be upset?"
"The thing is, I haven't been meeting Noah frequently. He lives in Silverwood. This time he came over because our families usually collaborate, and he attended a banquet and stayed a couple of extra days to hang out with friends. He'll be going back to Silverwood soon."
Laura said helplessly, "Tonight, he came over because my parents invited him. I can't just tell him not to come, can I?"
"Singing, drinking, eating, isn't that frequent enough? You've probably seen him more than you've seen me lately," Derek's tone grew more and more resentful.
Laura chuckled lightly. When men get jealous, they can be as childish as women, even someone as rational as Derek is no exception.
"You can still laugh?" Derek was angry. If she were in front of him, he would definitely pull her over and spank her.
"I find your jealous look very cute. It makes me love you even more."
Laura stared at her phone and whispered something that made people blush.
Derek indeed quieted down.
Just moments ago, Derek was angry, but now every hair on his body seemed soothed, and even his tone carried a hint of joy, "Really?"
"Yes, you should trust me. If I didn't like you, I wouldn't be with you. I wouldn't have slept with you before marriage. When I fall in love, no matter how outstanding another man is, I won't waver. Besides, you're so great. Noah is good too, but you're better."
"Are you sure?"
"Noah easily gets along with girls, and because of that, his partner would definitely lack a sense of security. As for me, I like your integrity, and I like that you give me enough security. This is something no one else can replace."
Derek was silent for a long time.
Laura asked, "Still upset?"
"Not upset anymore, just wish you were here with me. I want to kiss you hard," Derek's voice suddenly softened, "I miss you so much it hurts."
Maeve was rolling around on the bed, and Laura hooked her little finger, whispering, "I miss you too."
"Be good, wait at home. I'll finish up quickly and come back. Then we can make love," Derek's voice was husky.
"Pervert," Laura blushed, "Why are you always thinking about that?"
"If I didn't think about you, you'd have to worry about my feelings for you," Laura chuckled.
"Not talking to you anymore, I need to put Maeve to sleep."
After hanging up, Laura's face was still a bit red.
She hadn't missed him much while staying with her parents these past few days, but now she suddenly did.
Three days later, Laura finished her experiment.
Looking up, she realized it was almost dark outside.
Natalia brought over some experimental data, "The specimens extracted this time are increasingly meeting our expected data."
"Yes, I think so too. Let's concentrate the samples a bit more and see if the results improve. If they do, we can test internally for a while, and if it's good, we can launch the new product."
Laura took off her gloves and smiled, "Let's call it a day. Everyone's been under a lot of pressure lately. Take the next couple of days to relax; there's no need to rush."
"You too, spend some quality time with your boyfriend," Natalia winked, "Haven't seen him in a while."
"He's on a business trip."
Laura was changing out of her work clothes in the locker room and putting on a sweater when she suddenly saw a figure leaning against the wall outside the lab. Derek was dressed in a simple, well-fitted black shirt, the hem tucked into his pants, making his broad shoulders and long legs stand out. Even though Derek was wearing a mask, his tall figure and handsome aura were unmistakable.
Derek?
Laura's mind went blank.
Then a wave of sweetness washed over her.
"Your boyfriend's here."
Natalia immediately recognized the eyes above the mask and teased with a smile.
"Then I'll be off," Laura hadn't seen Derek in a week and missed him terribly. She ran over.
Derek naturally took her hand.
He turned and waved politely at Natalia, then pulled Laura into the elevator.
As soon as the elevator doors closed, he tore off his mask and eagerly kissed her.
Their lips and teeth met in a heated embrace.
Laura said nothing, just clung tightly to his neck.
Letting the heat surge between their lips and teeth.
She was a bit eager herself.
Like she hadn't tasted her favorite sweet treat in a long time.
The elevator dinged.
Their lips immediately parted.
They walked out of the elevator, exchanged a glance, and their eyes were filled with affection.
"I didn't drive," Derek said, hands in his pockets.
"Then take my car," Laura tossed him her car keys.
Her sports car was parked nearby. Derek got into the driver's seat, and Laura sat in the passenger seat.
Once inside, Derek didn't rush to drive, and Laura expected this. They continued their kiss from earlier.
But this time, in the enclosed car with no cameras overhead, Derek was even more uninhibited, not just satisfied with the kiss, his hands were busy too.
Ten minutes later, Laura adjusted her clothes and hugged his neck, "Didn't you say you'd be back tomorrow? You didn't even give me a heads-up."
"Surprise," Derek smiled, "Did you miss me?"
"Wasn't my reaction obvious enough?" Laura tilted her head and smiled, her eyes full of charm.
Derek felt his previously suppressed desires stirring again, "Let's go to a hotel."
"Enough, don't you think you're being too hasty?" Laura drew circles on his shirt with her small hand, "I need to eat first, I'm hungry."
"Alright, let's feed you first, then you can satisfy me," Derek's eyes were unashamed.
"No, after dinner, you have to go shopping with me," Laura pouted, "I've been wanting to buy a pair of shoes, you can get them for me."
