Chapter 1258 Life-Saving Item

The more Everett thought about it, the more pissed off he got.

He didn't even wanna admit Olivia was his sister anymore.

But Cassie said Olivia wasn't his sister at all. Maybe she was right.

How could a classy and good-looking dude like him have such a gross sister?

Isabella's daughter couldn't be like that.

But what about the paternity test?

Everett was deep in thought when the car suddenly slammed on the brakes.

"Do you even know how to drive?" he snapped.

"Sorry, Mr. Hernandez, an old lady just popped outta nowhere. I almost hit her. I'll go check on her," the assistant said, quickly unbuckling his seatbelt and getting out.

An old lady with white hair was lying on the ground.

The assistant rushed over to help her. "Ma'am, you okay?"

Before he could finish his sentence, a knife was plunged into his chest.

With his back to Everett, his mind went blank. He wanted to tell Everett to run, but he couldn't get a word out.

"Is everything okay?" Everett got out of the car and saw the assistant bent over. He took a few steps closer and suddenly noticed what looked like blood on the ground.

He had a bad feeling, and just then, something came at him from behind.

Everett dodged to the side and quickly ran the other way.

But he hadn't gone far when two black cars sped in front of him, and eight guys with knives jumped out.

They surrounded Everett from all sides.

"Who are you guys?" Everett asked coldly.

He'd faced a lot of danger growing up, but he always had the best bodyguards with him. This was the first time he found himself in such a mess.

But the guys didn't answer any of his questions and just attacked.

Even though Everett was skilled, he was unarmed and outnumbered. He was soon covered in cuts and bruises. Finally, he got knocked out from behind.

Once he was out cold, the group quickly tossed Everett into a car.

The leader immediately dialed a number. "Mr. Foster, we've got him."

"Hide immediately and don't let anyone find you," David said calmly.

"Got it."

After hanging up, David quickly called Olivia, "Everett suspects you."

"What?" Olivia was startled, her voice low. "Cassie must've told him something."

David said, "Everett came to Silverwood today to dig into you. A lot of people know about the dumb stuff you did before. Luckily, I was ready and had eyes in Silverwood. Everett's assistant is dead, and I've got him."

Olivia finally sighed in relief. She liked working with David because he was ruthless. "Mr. Foster, you're pretty capable. But why keep him alive? Kill him. And I can frame Cassie and Joseph for it."

"Isabella's not in her right mind because of the drugs. You think Declan's an idiot? He's sharp. If Isabella keeps this up, it won't be long before Declan realizes something's off. You'll be the first person he suspects. If you and I want a way out, we need to keep Everett alive to ensure our safety," David said coldly.

Olivia instantly got it.

"But," David suddenly laughed, "you can definitely frame Cassie and Joseph for Everett's disappearance. Isabella's getting more unstable, and Cassie's ruthless. If Isabella hurt anyone around her, even if she's her biological mother, Cassie will turn against her. Let them tear each other apart."

"You're really ruthless," Olivia said, clicking her tongue.

"Right back at ya. Get all the funds from Isabella ASAP. And try to snag those oil resources on Emerald Haven Island," David reminded her. "But to get all that, you gotta make Isabella feel totally abandoned and break things off with Declan."

"That's doable. She and Declan are already sleeping in separate rooms. Everett's situation can be the trigger," Olivia quickly schemed.

Over at the Hernandez House, Cassie was in the kitchen, rocking an apron and cooking up some steak.

In the living room, Joseph had taken the day off to play puzzles with the kids.

"No, this wing goes here."

"You silly goose. You put it in the wrong place."

"Dad, Oliver's bullying me again and calling me a silly goose," Sophia pouted, complaining to Joseph. "He's wrong. This piece goes here."

Joseph felt a headache coming on from his daughter's complaints.

Even though Sophia had placed the piece wrong, she was crying, and when she cried, she always got her way.

Joseph said, "Alright, you're right. You're not dumb. It goes here."

"See, Dad said I was right." Sophia immediately stopped crying and looked smug.

Oliver rolled his eyes. "This is boring. I'm not playing with you anymore. It's making me dumber."

"I don't want to play with you either." Sophia made a face.

Joseph was speechless.

Cassie came out with the cooked steak and saw Joseph looking exasperated.

She smiled and called out, "Dinner's ready."

"Yeah, finally time to eat." Sophia and Oliver washed their hands.

Sophia eagerly started munching on a piece of steak, while Oliver peeled shrimp.

Joseph sat down and ate steak with his daughter.

Oliver looked at him, then at Sophia, and suddenly said with disdain, "I finally know who Sophia takes after."

Cassie suddenly laughed, and Joseph looked helpless. "Oliver and I have similar tastes in food."

"Sophia, he's saying you're dumb," Oliver said.

"I did not," Joseph said, feeling a headache coming on.

"Then why don't you say Sophia is just like you in every way?" Oliver set a trap for him.

Joseph was silent.

Luckily, his phone rang, saving him from the two little devils.

But when he saw the caller ID, he hesitated for two seconds before answering, "Isaac."

"Joseph, have you finished dinner?" Isaac asked, "Are you free tonight?"

"What's up?"

"My wife and I are taking Richard to Yugrot for treatment tomorrow. We don't know how long we'll be gone. I have something I want you to give to your grandparents. I wanted to give it to them myself, but they haven't been willing to see me lately," Isaac said hoarsely.

"What is it? I'll have Nathaniel pick it up."

"It's a family heirloom of the Hernandez family. Your grandfather gave it to me. You should come in person; it's very valuable," Isaac said.

"Alright, I'll come over later." Joseph put down the phone.

"Where are you going?" Cassie asked.

"Isaac wants me to go over. You stay home with the kids." After dinner, Joseph got up and left.
