Chapter 1712 The Password is His Birthday

After getting in the car, Julia had just fastened her seatbelt.

A shadow fell over her, and before she could say anything, her lips were sealed by Elliott's.

She stared at him in shock.

They had kissed after their marriage, but it was always in bed when she was already half-asleep, not like now, where his intense kiss left her breathless.

It felt like when they were passionately in love.

"Elliott."

She pushed against his chest.

Elliott didn't budge; instead, he kissed her even more forcefully until Julia's phone rang.

In her panic, she accidentally hit the answer button, and her secretary's voice came through, "Julia, are you feeling better today? Can you come to the office?"

"On my way," Julia said, her eyes fixed on Elliott's face, which was just inches away.

The car lights were off, and the dim light from the parking lot outside barely illuminated Elliott's deep-set features, but his eyes shone like stars.

"Okay, but Julia, your voice sounds strange. Is your throat sore?" The secretary's concerned voice echoed in the car.

"I'm on my way."

Julia quickly hung up, her cheeks slightly flushed.

It wasn't that her throat was sore; it was just that he had kissed her for so long that her voice was a bit hoarse.

The atmosphere was too awkward, and even she couldn't help but give Elliott an unnatural glare, "Drive."

"Okay."

Elliott started the car.

Because of that kiss, all the frustration that had been weighing on him since their marriage seemed to vanish.

It turned out that learning to be open-minded and following his heart felt pretty good.

Neither of them mentioned what had just happened, and they didn't talk during the drive.

When they arrived, Julia unbuckled her seatbelt.

Elliott suddenly asked, "What's the code to your house?"

She looked at him in surprise, her lips moved, but she didn't say anything.

"Don't want to tell me?" Elliott's handsome face showed a hint of displeasure. "Or do I not have the right to know?"

Did all his efforts this morning go to waste?

"Julia, I've told you the code to my apartment. I'm willing to change some things, but if you have other thoughts, there's nothing I can do."

He reminded her.

"Add me on Facebook, and I'll tell you there." Julia hesitated for a few seconds before suddenly saying.

Elliott was taken aback, realizing that they had been married for several days and hadn't even added each other on Facebook.

In all of Madison, they were probably the only ones like this.

"What's your Facebook?"

"My personal phone number."

With that, Julia grabbed her bag and went into the office.

Elliott took out his phone, found her on Facebook, and sent a friend request.

In less than a minute, the request was accepted, and a string of numbers came through.

But when he saw those numbers, Elliott was completely stunned.

The door code had eight digits; the first few were their class number from when they studied abroad, and the last few were his birthday.

So that was the code to her house.

He suddenly understood why she had been so hesitant to tell him earlier.

He wasn't so dense as to not realize what it meant for a woman to use their class number and his birthday as her door code.

Maybe others wouldn't understand the significance of those numbers, but he did, more than anyone.

If he had previously doubted that Julia didn't care about him, doubted her integrity, or believed what Derek had said.

Now, he had no doubts at all.

He felt even more guilty about what he had done that day.

He had gone too far.

Elliott sat in the car, feeling both regretful and unable to stop a slight smile from forming as he looked at those numbers.

After a moment, he replied: Got it.

On the other side, Julia felt embarrassed as she looked at the code she had sent.

She should have changed the code earlier, but she was used to it. For years, whether it was the door code, the safe code, or the bank code, she used those special numbers that were etched in her heart.

Initially, it was because of their significance, but later it became a habit. If she changed the code, she might forget it.

She hadn't expected this.

He should understand.

It was so humiliating.

"Julia, here are the data you asked for yesterday."

Her secretary, Delphine, came in with some documents and was surprised to see the usually cold Julia slumped over her desk, looking dejected. She paused, thinking she must be mistaken.

But the next second, Julia lifted her head and returned to her usual cold demeanor, "Bring it over."

Delphine remained silent.

"By the way, has Garth arrived?" Julia suddenly asked.

"I haven't seen him."

Julia frowned in deep thought.

Where was Garth?

After leaving Julia's house, Garth was radiating anger.

He almost drove to Whispering Pines Manor, but halfway there, he remembered that his father had scheduled a golf game with James at 10 AM.

It wasn't time yet.

He quickly drove back to the Tovar Manor.

The Tovar family was having breakfast, and seeing Garth return, Julia's mother, Genevieve Ashbourne, said, "Weren't you bringing breakfast to Julia? Why are you back so soon?"

"Did Julia drink the soup the nanny made?" Garth's mother asked, "A woman needs a man by her side. Look at her, catching a cold with no one to take care of her. You should seize this opportunity to show her some care; she'll be moved eventually."

The more Garth listened, the angrier he got, "Don't mention it. When I got there, there was a man in Julia's house. Dad, do you know who he is? He's Elliott from the Miller Group. From what he said, Julia and he have already gotten their marriage certificate. This is ridiculous. Has Julia lost her mind?"

Garth was genuinely upset, or he wouldn't have said such things.

"Garth, are you out of your mind?" Genevieve was baffled, "What Elliott? How could Julia be married?"

"Mom, Elliott definitely stayed there last night, and Julia admitted it herself." Garth said angrily, "Doesn't she know how I feel about her? And yet she quietly found another man. How is Elliott better than me? I think Julia has gone mad."

"I haven't heard James mention this." Uriah stood up with a serious expression.

Garth laughed coldly, "Would Julia dare to say anything? The Jude family would never agree. I think Elliott must have used some trick. I've been wary of all the wealthy young men in Whisperlyn City, but I didn't expect to overlook someone from a small place like Elliott."

Genevieve said anxiously, "I used to care for her so much. If she's really married, even if she gets divorced, don't go after her. I don't want you marrying a woman who's been divorced twice. If it weren't for her being the heir to the Jude Group, I wouldn't want you to marry a divorced woman. With your looks, you could easily find a twenty-year-old girl."
