Chapter 968 Don't Touch Me
"What do you want?" Leon's legs were trembling with fear, completely losing his earlier arrogance. "Miss Brooks, please spare me. I offended you back then because I didn't know your esteemed status. Plus, Joseph broke my leg, and I was bedridden for months."
"That's not what you said earlier. You were quite cocky." Cassie poked Leon's face with a steel rod, smiling calmly. "You even said you still remember my figure. Since that's the case, how about I dance for you again?"
"No, I've forgotten all about it." Leon was on the verge of tears. "Miss Brooks, please forgive me. Don't hold this against me."
"That's not going to work. You remember things from three years ago, which shows you're petty. Who knows if you'll continue to seek revenge on me?"
"I absolutely wouldn't dare." Leon didn't even dare to speak more. He never expected that Cassie, whom he used to bully, could now single-handedly take down more than a dozen thugs.
He cursed inwardly, 'Damn it. How did I end up provoking a woman like Cassie? No, she isn't even a woman. No woman would be as violent as her.'
"I am very uncomfortable because of your words." Cassie squatted in front of Leon. "What do you think I should do?"
Leon was silent. He didn't know what to do either.
"You bullied me back then, so I'll strip you naked today. How about that?" Cassie looked like she had shown him mercy.
"Very well." Leon was on the verge of tears. 'It was better than getting beaten up.'
"You want me to strip you in the street?" Cassie gave Leon a mocking look. "I'm not a female thug. You strip yourself."
"Okay, I'll strip. It's an honor to have the most beautiful woman in Whisperlyn City see me naked," Leon said through gritted teeth.
"The most beautiful woman in Whisperlyn City?" Cassie raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah." Leon nodded vigorously. "A bunch of us rich guys in Whisperlyn City often get together, and everyone unanimously agrees you're the most beautiful woman in Whisperlyn City."
"A bunch of good-for-nothings." Cassie gave Leon a mocking look, then looked at Joseph lying in the mud pit, frowning. "How much did Joseph drink?"
"I don't know, but he was pretty drunk," Leon explained sheepishly. "If I didn't know Joseph was drunk, I wouldn't have dared to mess with him. Everyone knows how good Joseph is in a fight."
"You know it?" Cassie's eyebrows twitched. "Then how did you know Joseph drank tonight? Did you run into him by chance, or did someone tell you?"
Leon was stunned, then looked at Cassie with admiration. "You're really sharp. It was Nathan who told me."
"Nathan?" Cassie was shocked, pondering, 'Nathan must deliberately use Leon to beat up Joseph. If it were someone else, it wouldn't matter, but Joseph helps Nathan get out of trouble time and again over the years. It is not that Nathan needs to thank Joseph, but rather to frame the person who always helps him. He is too shameless.'
"Yeah, Nathan suddenly asked me to drink. I don't think much of Nathan either, but his sister Megan got a lot of Joseph's assets, so she's pretty rich. I gave Nathan a spot. Nathan told me Joseph was at the bar, and he was drunk. So I thought I'd teach Joseph a lesson." Leon finally understood. "Nathan did it on purpose, right?"
"Of course, he did it on purpose. He wanted to beat up Joseph, too, but since Joseph and Michael are good friends, he was afraid Michael would come after him if word got out. So he used you to teach Joseph a lesson." Cassie quickly figured it out. "I'll give you a chance to avoid stripping."
"Really?" Leon's eyes lit up. He didn't want to strip; people would think he was crazy.
"Just spread the word that you beat up Joseph tonight and say it was Nathan who told you to," Cassie said meaningfully.
"But won't Lucas come after me?" Leon became anxious.
Cassie said, "You dared to beat up Joseph, and you're afraid of someone coming after you? Just say Nathan instigated it."
"Right, you're smart," Leon cautiously asked. "Can I go now?"
"Get lost. If you dare lie to me, I'll come after you." Cassie tapped the ground with the steel rod.
"I wouldn't dare." Leon's body shivered, and he quickly led his men away.
Cassie then walked over to Joseph. Joseph was lying in the mud pit, his white T-shirt covered in mud and water, his handsome face full of bruises. At this moment, his eyes were closed, and he looked utterly defeated.
If it weren't for Joseph's familiar features, Cassie would have doubted if he was really Joseph.
Joseph was elegant and noble, with meticulously groomed short black hair and a suit that never had a wrinkle.
Cassie asked herself inwardly, 'What made Joseph become like this? Is it because the Hernandez family had fallen? He shouldn't be someone who gives up and compromises so easily.'
"Joseph, wake up." Cassie bent down and pushed Joseph.
Joseph, in a daze from the pain, opened his eyes. He couldn't see Cassie clearly, but the faint fragrance from her was familiar, and even her voice sounded like Cassie's.
"Cassie, why are you here?" Joseph gave Cassie a weak smile, thinking he was dreaming. Only in his dreams would Cassie come to his side.
Cassie's throat moved, and she felt a bit unhappy. Finally, she bent down to help Joseph stand up.
Joseph wobbled, pushing Cassie's hand away, hiccuping from the alcohol. "Don't... don't touch me. I'm dirty. Don't get your clothes dirty."
"Joseph, I'll take you home." Cassie had to grab Joseph's hand.
Cassie then noticed that Joseph's hand was also injured and bleeding.
"I... I don't need you to take me. I can walk myself." Joseph shook off Cassie's hand, turned around, and staggered as if he was to fall at any moment.
Cassie watched for a while and forcefully dragged Joseph into her car's back seat.
Cassie started the car, occasionally glancing at the rearview mirror. Joseph was lying in the back seat, unconscious.
After driving for over ten minutes, Cassie saw a pharmacy, got out to buy some disinfectant and medicine, and then drove Joseph to a small house he had been to once before.
Cassie used Joseph's fingerprint to unlock the door and threw him onto the sofa.
Cassie wanted to leave immediately, but seeing the medicine in her hand, she kindly fetched a basin of water and helped Joseph take off his dirty clothes.
When it came to his pants, Cassie initially didn't plan to help Joseph change, but considering his underwear was also wet, she decided to take it all off.
