Chapter 1808 Don't Be Jealous for No Reason
"Then I'll go with you. The company transfer requires a lawyer to be present," Joseph said, following closely behind Cassie.
Although Cassie was very smart, there were too many legal loopholes, and he was afraid Cassie might suffer a loss.
"You really don't need to follow me. I'm transferring it to someone I know."
"People you know are even more likely to take advantage of you," Joseph insisted.
Cassie rolled her eyes at him, "Go mind your own business."
"Darling, you seem very secretive." Joseph keenly sensed something was off, and suddenly became sullen. "You're not transferring it to someone I can't meet, like a young man, are you?"
Cassie's face turned grim. "You're so boring."
"I heard you were at the club last night with an heir from Silvervale," Joseph said, jealousy evident in his eyes. "You all had a great time, didn't you? You never thought about how lonely and bored I was at home."
"I ran into a few of Bernice's friends. It was hard to refuse," Cassie said, raising her hand to rub his handsome cheek. "Don't be jealous for no reason. Go away."
"I'm not leaving," Joseph said, nuzzling his head into her neck and asking hoarsely, "Are you really not letting me come with you?"
"No need, it's a friend I trust." Cassie was very certain.
Joseph didn't ask any more questions. Sometimes, asking too many questions could annoy a woman.
"Then you'll have time to be with me tonight, right?"
"Yes."
The Nelson Group.
At eleven in the morning, Lucas finished a meeting and returned to his office, where Wilford had been waiting for a long time.
"These are the public accounts that have been smearing the Nelson Group online. There are twenty-three of them, and as per your request, we've sent legal notices to all of them," Wilford reported on some dispute cases.
"Good," Lucas said, taking the documents and browsing through them. "Do we have a good chance of winning?"
"I might need to visit a few local hospitals to understand the situation better," Wilford said.
"Go ahead. I'll inform the staff in advance to cooperate with you as quickly as possible," Lucas said. "Also, make sure to compensate the patients as needed. Even if it costs more, we need to resolve this matter quickly."
"Don't worry, the hefty legal fees you pay me every year aren't for nothing."
Wilford smiled and suddenly said, "By the way, I just came from the business bureau and ran into Cassie and Bernice."
Lucas's eyebrows raised, signaling him to continue.
"I inquired a bit. It seems they're handling the transfer of the Zenith Group," Wilford said.
"The Zenith Group transfer?" Lucas's handsome face showed surprise. "Wasn't the Zenith Group acquired by Cassie? Is she transferring it to Bernice?"
He remembered that after Megan was sanctioned, he specifically had someone look into the Zenith Group.
He originally thought it was the only remaining proof of the Zenith family, and if possible, he was willing to acquire it.
But after discovering that the Zenith Group had already been bought by Cassie, he gave up.
Wilford nodded, "Actually, the Zenith Group has been in decline ever since it fell into Nathan's hands. Many top executives left one after another. Two batches of new people were brought in, but they didn't manage well either. Even after Cassie acquired it, it remained in a loss-making state. Bernice taking over the Zenith Group doesn't make much sense; the Zenith Group is no longer what it used to be."
"That might not be the case. If Bernice is Reborn, she might have a way to revive the Zenith Group."
Lucas frowned, deep in thought.
He just didn't understand why Bernice would want the Zenith Group.
Could it be because of Nina again?
Were their feelings for each other really that strong?
