Chapter 1335 There Will Never Be a David Again
"You got no one to blame but yourself for being such a psycho. Even your own peeps can't stand you."
Joseph shrugged, "You even offed your sister's kid. You think Kathleen wouldn't want payback? Sending her back to Silverwood ain't gonna do squat. She knows you too well, man. She knew exactly who you'd trust. By just tailing them, she figured out where your goons hang. Everett's too important to you; no way you'd let him die. You'd have your best guys watching him, and boom, we found Everett."
"So that's how it is. That bitch!"
David, realizing he was screwed, lost it, "I should've killed that bitch back then and let her be with her son."
"Calling you a bastard is too nice," Michael sneered, "You're a monster."
"David's lost all sense of humanity," Joseph said coldly, "All he cares about is power and status. He'll do anything to get what he wants, even screw over his own family. David, you're smart, but you used your brains for all the wrong reasons."
"What do you know?" David ranted like a lunatic. "You think I wanted to be this scummy? If I was born like you, inheriting the Hernandez Group, I wouldn't have had to go this far, and that damned bitch Cassie wouldn't have betrayed me over and over."
"Fuck! You're shameless," Michael snapped, unable to hold back. "Joseph and Cassie were in love, and you kept butting in, playing the third wheel, making them break up again and again. You just wanted to use Cassie, nothing more."
"Exactly," Joseph said with disdain, "It's your own character that's the problem. Don't blame Cassie. If anything, Cassie was unlucky to meet you."
"David, I won't let you off for using and hurting my daughter Cassie," Isabella suddenly stepped forward, giving David a cold look before turning to Carl. "I want to take David away."
Carl smirked, "Sure, no problem. Declan already filled me in on your situation. David, along with Olivia and Robert, is involved in a massive fraud case. The cops were planning to nab them anyway. Plus, David's also suspected of conspiring with Ralph. Even if you didn't say anything, he'd either rot in prison or get the death penalty."
"Prison and execution are too easy for him," Declan said calmly.
"Indeed," Carl gave David a look like he was already dead. "Congrats, David. I believe your end will be worse than Ralph's."
Trembling, David collapsed to the ground.
He'd heard a bit about the Wittelsbach family's methods when he had someone investigate them. But back then, David was blinded by greed.
"No, no," he roared in trembling anger, "You can't do this! I'm Cassie's husband. She's my legal wife. Let me go. If you let me go, I'll divorce her right now, even if I end up with nothing."
Isabella was shaking with rage, not expecting him to still be threatening her at this moment. She wanted to pull out a gun and shoot him right there.
Declan saw Isabella starting to lose it and quickly put a hand on her shoulder. "Isabella, chill. Once he's legally dead, his marriage won't mean squat."
"Exactly," Everett grinned, "From today on, David's history. You'll just be a mutt locked up by the Wittelsbach family. Whatever you did to me, I'll pay you back a thousand times over."
Hearing this, David freaked out and tried to bolt, but Joseph shot him in the leg. David hit the ground hard, and the Wittelsbach family's bodyguards dragged him away.
Everyone watching felt a shiver run down their spines. Just moments ago, they were all sucking up to David. Now, in a flash, the once high-and-mighty David was being dragged away like a stray dog. Especially Ralph, who dropped to his knees, begging, "Mr. Carl Jude, I was wrong. I won't do it again. I wasn't always like this. It was all David. He pushed me into it."
"Yeah, Mr. Carl Jude, Marigold and I had no clue about their rebellion," Ophelia cried, pulling a confused Marigold to her knees. "We're innocent. Ralph dragged us into this."
"You lying witch! What are you saying?" Ralph was almost spitting blood in anger.
"I'm telling the truth. Do you want to drag our daughter down with us?" Ophelia pleaded, looking at him. No matter what, the Dixon family needed to ensure their lineage continued.
Ralph was suddenly speechless. Just moments ago, he was dreaming of finding some young, beautiful women to have more sons after taking control. Now, it all seemed like a joke. He truly regretted it. If he could do it all over again, he would never have let David manipulate him.
Carl looked at him calmly, his gaze sharp, "Ralph, if you weren't so ambitious, how could David's words have unleashed the beast inside you? I noticed your ambition growing after I became president. People, when they're at the foot of the mountain, think reaching the top is enough. But once they get there, they see another mountain higher than theirs, and they want to climb higher. But you forgot, if it weren't for me, you wouldn't even have had the chance to climb."
Ralph collapsed to the ground, looking like he aged ten years in an instant.
Joseph walked up to him, looking down with disdain. "Ralph, I remember you saying upstairs that my mom should entertain your old friends. You said that even though she's no longer young, she was once the most beautiful woman in Whisperlyn City, and that back then, you couldn't have her, but now you think she's good enough to scratch some itches."
Joseph's voice was ice-cold, enough to make the Dixon family shiver.
"I... I was joking," Ralph stammered, terrified that his wife and daughter would end up as playthings for the powerful.
Ophelia and Marigold also realized the gravity of the situation.
