Chapter 912 She Moved Out

Yes, he always said Cassie was bad and malicious. But there were so many kind women. Did he like them all?

No, he didn't.

Sophia pouted, "So what exactly does Uncle Joseph like about Aunt Cassie? If she's bad, you don't like her, but if she's not bad, you like her?"

Joseph gave Sophia a strange look. "I find... apart from looking a bit like Liam, your personality is quite different. You are a bit like me, eloquent and sharp-tongued. You could become a lawyer someday."

Sophia muttered to herself, and she wasn't Liam's daughter after all. "I don't want to be like you. Great-grandma says you're a playboy. I don't want to be a womanizer in the future."

Joseph bitterly touched his nose. It seemed that Joseph's being a womanizer was a well-established fact in Madison.

"Sophia, you're right. The previous me... was too extreme. When you love someone, you should love both their good and bad sides. Unfortunately, I understand this too late. Please help me," Joseph pleaded.

"No." Sophia refused mercilessly again. "If I lie to Aunt Cassie for you, she might never come out to see me again. You should solve your own mistakes."

"But she doesn't want to see me," Joseph said, looking desolate.

Sophia glanced at his face, which looked a bit like hers. As his daughter, she felt a tiny bit of pity. "Mom used to tell me that as long as you persist, you can succeed in anything. Think about it yourself."

After saying that, Sophia quickly slipped away.

Joseph was stunned. He never thought that one day, he would be getting relationship advice from a child.

But on second thought, it made sense.

At worst, Joseph would bug her every day until she forgave him.

After dinner, Joseph pondered for a while and immediately had the driver take him to Willow Creek Estates. Enduring the pain, he bent down in the square below Cassie's building and arranged some candles to spell out: "I'm sorry."

Each time he bent down, his wound tore painfully, but he gritted his teeth and endured it.

After finally lighting the candles with a lighter, a small crowd had already gathered to watch.

One little boy came over and took a look. "It's you again."

Joseph immediately recognized the boy who lived opposite Cassie. He had run into him several times. "Yes, I made her angry."

"But it's useless to do this here," the little boy said, tilting his head. "Cassie moved out yesterday morning. I ran into her. She said she wouldn't live here anymore."

The lighter in Joseph's hand fell to the ground.

Joseph's mind buzzed. He never expected that she would move out directly. Did she not want to see him anymore?

An indescribable sadness bubbled up in his chest.

The little boy gave him a sympathetic look. "My mom says you two are the most troublesome couple she's ever seen. You fight several times a month. Maybe Cassie is just tired of fighting this time. It would help if you went back. Don't set a fire here."

After saying that, the little boy walked away.

Joseph looked up at the floor where Cassie used to live, a bitter smile tugging at his lips.

Another sleepless night passed. In the morning, just as Joseph finished dressing, he suddenly heard Michael's deafening knock on the door.

He opened the door, and Michael rushed in immediately. His face was still bruised, and his usually affectionate eyes were filled with rage. "Joseph, you actually announced your breakup with Megan online and said you'd never get back together. You're a real jerk. She's already heartbroken. Why do you have to torment her?"

Joseph's head throbbed from the noise. "Did you just get released from the Jude family?"

"Of course, I just went to see Megan. She tried to slit her wrists again because of you. Joseph, I really want to kill you." Michael, burning with anger, pointed at Joseph. "Last time, she was kidnapped. Wasn't that bad enough? I was taken back by the Jude family, thinking you would protect Megan. But you believed others and suspected it was a plot by Megan. Anyone with sense would know Megan couldn't do such a thing."

Joseph looked at Michael, realizing he was so angry that he was at a loss for words. Suddenly, he could somewhat understand why Cassie used to say he was blind. Perhaps every time Cassie faced him, it was like how he was facing Michael now.

He wished he could knock some sense into his head with a hammer.

"Michael, this matter indeed wasn't done by Cassie and Spencer," Joseph stated.

"In the end, you still want to side with Cassie. She has so bewitched you that you can't tell right from wrong," Michael shouted at him.

Joseph's temples throbbed, and he said coldly, "Enough. No matter how much you curse me, even if you say more, I've already decided. Since I no longer love Megan, I should keep my distance from her. She should have her own life. I have no reason to protect her forever. In the future, when you and Megan hang out, there's no need to invite me. Even if you kneel here, it won't work."

"Fine, Joseph, I'll remember what you said. From now on, I, Michael, have no such heartless and cold friend like you. If you don't want Megan, I will. I'll take responsibility for her life from now on," Michael shouted.

Michael stormed out, slamming the door.

Joseph rubbed his temples, feeling disappointed. He had never expected that one day, he and Michael would fall out over a woman to this extent.

However, from now on, he didn't want his feelings to be threatened or influenced by anyone.

Love was love, and not loving was not loving. He wanted to make a clear distinction.

Megan was wandering aimlessly in the mall.

Suddenly, a sleazy looking fat man grabbed her hand. "Megan, out shopping? What do you want to buy? I'll get it for you if you'll be my woman."

"Zachary Butler, let go." Megan struggled hard, her pure and delicate face filled with panic.

But the more she struggled, the stronger Mr. Butler's desire to conquer became. "Why are you still so reserved? You used to have Joseph and Lucas protecting you, but I heard they don't care about you much anymore. Joseph even publicly said he wouldn't get back to you. I'm quite interested in the woman of Madison's richest man."

"Zachary, I don't like you at all. Let go of me. You're hurting my hand," she pleaded softly.

Zachary found her voice very pleasing. "My God, your voice is so sweet. I can't wait to hear you in my bed. Come on, I'm taking you with me today."

Zachary tried to drag her away.

Just as Megan was about to be pulled into his arms, Athena rushed out, kicked Zachary away, and quickly shielded Megan.

"Who the hell dares to kick me? You..." Zachary looked up and saw Athena's cold face, instantly choking. "Are you from Dragon?"
