Chapter 70
"Tears streamed down her face, and her neck was hurting. She thought she was seeing a demon.
She regretted it deeply!
""You're truly despicable! I trusted you!""
Anger erupted in Joseph's chest. Why did she do this? Being manipulated was the thing he hated most in his life!
He hated her, but the touch of her skin in his hands was driving him to lose control. He couldn't restrain himself any longer and forcefully threw her onto the bed.
Cassie's clothes were quickly torn. Joseph suddenly got up and stormed into the bathroom.
The slamming of the door hit Cassie's heart hard.
She trembled and stared at the ceiling. Did he hate her that much? He didn't even want to touch her!
Well, he never liked her to begin with.
She was wrong! She was terribly wrong. She shouldn't have lost her mind and resorted to this method!
Cassie lowered her gaze, succumbing to deep self-blame.
The rushing sound of water in the bathroom continued for forty to fifty minutes without stopping.
She started to worry that something might happen to Joseph, so she mustered up the courage to walk to the door and knock. ""Are you okay? I'm sorry. Do you need me...""
""Shut up! I would rather die than touch a woman like you.""
The bathroom door suddenly swung open, and Joseph, drenched from head to toe, glared at her with bloodshot eyes.
Cassie's mouth hung open in shock.
""How much did you give me?"" Joseph vented his anger, roughly pulling her into the bathroom and subjecting her to the icy cold water.
The freezing water engulfed Cassie's head, making her shiver.
Just as she was about to suffocate in the water, Joseph let go of her, muttered under his breath, and kicked the door hard before getting dressed and storming out of the house.
Cassie crawled out of the bathroom in a disheveled state, but she couldn't catch up to him in time.
It was midnight.
Noah hurried to the hospital and, seeing Joseph lying in bed receiving an IV drip, didn't know whether to envy him or be angry.
Unfair! Why didn't he have a beautiful woman like Cassie throwing herself at him?
""Tsk tsk! You still have a flushed face!"" Noah seemed to be enjoying the sight. ""Why are you putting yourself through this torment in the hospital? Just give in to Cassie and put an end to it.""
""Say that one more time and see what happens!"" Joseph squinted menacingly. He wanted to smash the bottle of medicine on Noah's head.
Walter frowned. ""Mr. Collins, please be cautious with your words. Mr. Hernandez detests women using such methods.""
Noah froze, suddenly realizing that Joseph was different from them.
If it hadn't been for his despicable father, Cameron Lewis, using drugs and coercion on Mabel, the precious daughter of heaven, in order to climb up the Hernandez family's ladder, Joseph wouldn't have been born.
Joseph, who was never loved by his mother, had suffered countless hardships growing up.
He believed that he was brought into this world through manipulation.
That's why he hated these methods the most. Cassie had crossed his bottom line.
""If you don't want to see her, just let her move out,"" Noah sighed and suggested.
""That clingy woman will not leave!"" Joseph sneered. ""Even if I chase her away, she will not go. She has no shame at all.""
""Well, why don't you move to a different place then? I can help you find one.""
""Why should I leave my place? It's mine,"" Joseph protested instinctively, growing furious. ""I'll not go easy on that woman anymore!""
