Chapter 722
At this moment, the phone rang again.
Megan called, "Joseph, are you working overtime today? Didn't we agree to choose a wedding photo package together?"
"I'm busy today. I have to go back to the estate after work," Joseph explained.
Megan bit her lip. "Are you still mad at me because my brother had someone destroy Cassie's home? Joseph, I really didn't know. I warned him before, but sometimes he just doesn't listen to me. I'm sorry that my brother's actions have affected your reputation."
"Megan, let's leave the past behind. But I suggest you keep your distance from Nathan in the future. He's beyond redemption," Joseph interrupted.
Some words might make him feel sorry for her once or twice, but hearing them repeatedly would only make him more repulsed by Nathan.
"Okay," Megan replied awkwardly.
"I really have something to attend to at the estate today."
After ending the call, Joseph instructed Nathaniel to prepare gifts for the children.
Upon hearing about Liam having a two-year-old illegitimate daughter, Nathaniel was left puzzled.
"Are you daydreaming? Hurry up and prepare the gifts," Joseph scolded him.
Nathaniel left and immediately found a quiet place to secretly call Cassie, "Cassie, could Liam's illegitimate daughter be Sophia?"
"That's right, it's Sophia," Cassie helplessly explained the situation to him.
Nathaniel was speechless.
No one knew that three years ago, during Cassie's supposed "miscarriage," it was a scheme orchestrated by him and Liam.
Back then, when Joseph pushed Cassie down, she did indeed bleed, and the child was almost lost. However, those two children were resilient and managed to survive.
But he knew that, with Joseph and Cassie's constant arguments and Megan's always stirring up conflicts, those two children would eventually be truly lost.
Even if the twins were born, Cassie would definitely not get child custody, and they would likely suffer abuse in Megan's care.
So he contacted Liam, who immediately bribed the doctor to announce that Cassie had a miscarriage publicly. He thought that if Cassie had a miscarriage, Joseph would divorce her and let her go, but he didn't expect Megan to persuade Joseph to have her admitted to a psychiatric hospital.
During those days, he and Liam were very anxious.
Fortunately, they managed to feign Cassie's death successfully, allowing her child to be born safely abroad.
But they never expected Sophia to return to the Hernandez family as Liam's illegitimate daughter.
It was not that bad. At least she could return to the Hernandez family and avoid being targeted by Megan.
Nathaniel immediately went to the mall and bought many clothes and toys that little girls liked, all paid for with Joseph's credit card because Joseph owed this daughter too much.
At half past six in the afternoon.
The car drove into the Hernandez family estate.
After Joseph got out of the car, Nathaniel opened the trunk, and Joseph saw it packed full of items. Joseph asked, "Who told you to buy so many things?"
