Chapter 945 I Won't Let You Go

Isaac's eyes were bloodshot, even more so than when the Hernandez family chip was leaked. His anger and sorrow were palpable.

"Richard had no enmity with the Chamberlain family. Why did they make him lose his mind? He is my only son," Isaac cried out, breaking down into sobs. "Now Richard is a fool, Dad is paralyzed, the police have arrested Joseph. Our Hernandez family is over, completely ruined by you alone."

Mabel looked at Isaac, her eyes also red and painful. It was her, her foolishness, that had ruined the entire Hernandez family.

She thought, 'But Marcus, how could you be so cruel? What deep-seated hatred did I have with Marcus in my past life?’

Mabel staggered out, determined to find Marcus and demand answers. How much had Marcus deceived her?

Not far away, Wyatt watched the scene with a look of irritation. He hadn't expected that in just a few days, the Hernandez family would end up like this.

As they left the hospital, Athena immediately walked over and took his arm. "Wyatt, what should we do in the future?"

"Let's wait until Mr. Hernandez is released and then make plans." Wyatt sighed.

"No, I mean the downfall of the Hernandez family is inevitable!" Athena hesitated before continuing. "With your abilities, Wyatt, you don't need to always be subservient to Mr. Hernandez, do you?"

"Athena, do you know what you're saying?" Wyatt's face changed slightly in a warning.

"Wyatt, I'm just stating the truth. People always aspire to greater heights. Besides, it's not just me who thinks this way; many experts in Dragon think the same. Yes, the Hernandez family once did a favor for our elders, and we will take care of their descendants in the future. But the Hernandez family is no longer viable; there's no reason for us to keep obeying them," Athena added.

She advised, "You'll see, people in Dragon will start leaving one by one. Other families will begin to poach people. The Hernandez family no longer has the capital to keep Dragon."

Wyatt's face darkened. He knew Athena was telling the truth.

"Wyatt, I think you should also consider our future," Athena pouted. "You're over forty, and I'm not young either. Mr. Hernandez doesn't like me and has always wanted me to leave Silverwood, but I really want to marry you. Let's leave Dragon."

Wyatt's expression changed slightly. "You want me to leave Mr. Hernandez at this time? No, I can't do something so ungrateful."

"Do you think staying will allow Mr. Hernandez to turn the tide?" Athena sighed. "That's impossible. The Hernandez family is doomed. By tomorrow morning, the Hernandez family shares will continue to fall. Mr. Hernandez is still in the police station, and even if he gets out, he will have to pay for the breach of contract. His reputation is ruined, and with the Chamberlain family suppressing him, it would take a miracle to turn things around."

Athena touched her belly and whispered, "Besides, you have to think about our child."

"What, you're pregnant?" Wyatt was taken aback.

"Yes, it's been over a month," Athena said with a sweet smile. "So I don't want you to go against the Chamberlain family. I'm afraid our baby will grow up without a father. Let's leave."

"Let me think about it," he then answered.

Wyatt looked conflicted. He was both surprised and delighted. He was delighted that, at his age, he was finally going to have a child, but he worried that he now had to consider the child's future.

When the police brought Joseph into the police station, Marcus happened to lead Liam out. The three of them met eyes, and Liam was stunned to see Joseph coming in.

"Didn't expect you to be bailed out so quickly," Joseph said, glancing at the unscathed Liam and then at the impeccably dressed Marcus with a smile.

"Marcus, not planning to hide anymore?" he added.

"There's no need for that," Marcus replied calmly. "I'm taking Liam with me, and he won't be returning to the Hernandez family. If you have evidence, feel free to sue me. But unfortunately, accusing him of theft is your speculation, and you lack sufficient evidence."

"You really are a family," Joseph said coldly, giving Liam a disdainful look. "Liam, I used to dislike you, but I thought you still had some loyalty for the Hernandez family. It seems I was wrong; you're just like your father."

Liam gritted his teeth, about to defend himself, but Marcus chuckled softly, "Of course, he's on my side. From now on, he should be called Liam Chamberlain. He's my only son, and I've been unhappy for a long time seeing you oppress him. Joseph, times have changed. You'd better be polite to my son Liam, or I'll make sure the Hernandez family suffers. What happened to Richard is just a warning."

Joseph was furious. Liam found it even harder to explain himself until Marcus turned back and looked at Liam gently. "Let's go, Liam, back to the Chamberlain family residence."

"Liam, just wait. I won't let you go." Joseph's cold, bloodthirsty gaze swept over Liam.

Liam shivered. He knew Joseph well enough to understand that this time, Joseph was genuinely murderous. If it weren't for Marcus's words, Joseph might not have hated him so much.

He followed Marcus to the parking lot. Marcus tossed him the car keys and ordered coldly, "Drive it."

Liam looked blankly at Marcus, who now wore a cold expression. Just moments ago, in front of Joseph, he hadn't been like this. Suddenly, everything became clear to Liam.

"Dad, I am your son," Liam said with a bitter smile. "Why did you say those things in front of Joseph? I didn't do anything, but your words made them more convinced that I stole the chip data."

"I didn't lie," Marcus said indifferently, looking at Liam. "You are my son; otherwise, I wouldn't have come to bail you out personally."

"You didn't bail me out because I'm your son," Liam suddenly shouted at him, agitated. "From the beginning, you've been setting me up. First, you arranged to meet me at the café, making sure Xavier's wife saw us. Then, yesterday, you revealed your identity as the largest shareholder of the Chamberlain family, making everyone suspect me. Not only do I have a motive, but also, because my father is the largest shareholder of the Chamberlain family, I would inherit his business. But it's not true; I'm not your only son. I won't inherit the Chamberlain family."

Marcus's cold eyes narrowed slightly. "Do you know what you're saying?"

Liam's eyes reddened as he laughed. "Do you think I know nothing? You have another illegitimate son named Scott, who's in elementary school. Every weekend, you take him back to the Chamberlain family—no wonder you've never cared much about me. Even the Chamberlain family treats me coldly. Larry treats Edward Chamberlain better than I do. The truth is, everyone in the Chamberlain family is wary of me. To you, I'm just a pawn, or rather, you don't like me at all because I'm Mabel's son!"

Marcus squinted his eyes and lit a cigarette, his face looking sinister.
