Chapter 1383 Women Are Unreasonable

Michael's got no shame these days.

"How 'bout we make a baby tonight?" Michael said, flashing a cheeky grin as he sauntered over.

"Get lost." Laura quickly scooped up the baby and moved aside. "I'm gonna take a shower."

After teasing her until she turned red, Michael, feeling pretty pleased with himself, headed for the shower.

When he came out, Laura had already turned off the lights and was ready to crash.

But Maeve wasn't the type to sleep quietly with Laura; she'd cry if no one held her.

Laura tried to soothe her for a bit, but she was wiped out.

Laura really needed some shut-eye; she'd been running around all day without a break.

"Let me take her, you get some rest," Michael said, reaching out, smelling all fresh from the shower.

Laura glanced over at him. Michael's slightly curly short hair was a bit messy, but it made his delicate features stand out, especially his thin lips, which were even more tempting than a girl's.

Even though Laura saw this face every day, it still left her a little dazed.

"What're you staring at? Am I that good-looking?" Michael said with a smug grin.

"Yeah," Laura nodded. "You look better than a woman. I'm jealous."

Michael looked a bit embarrassed. After a long pause, he said, "Actually, you don't need to be jealous. It's your luck to have someone as good-looking as me."

Laura chuckled, "Maybe you're so good-looking that I can't even see you as the opposite sex."

Michael, not too happy, took Maeve and said coldly, "You go to sleep."

Maeve was a night owl. Laura felt a bit guilty, "Maybe I should take over."

"Forget it," Michael said in a weird tone, "You already don't look as good as me. If you keep staying up late, it'll only get worse."

Laura was so mad she pulled the blanket over her head and ignored him.

She was wrong; she shouldn't have felt guilty for him staying up with Maeve every night.

Wait, felt guilty?

Nah, she just felt a bit sorry.

Indeed, women shouldn't be soft-hearted.

In less than two minutes, Michael saw her sleeping soundly.

Michael whispered to Maeve, "Baby, your mom's a little pig, falling asleep so quick." Before he finished speaking, a pillow smacked him on the head.

"You're the pig," Laura scolded angrily.

Michael was embarrassed, "Weren't you asleep?"

"Maybe 'cause I'm not a pig, I don't fall asleep that fast," Laura shot back.

Michael didn't dare say another word, only Maeve kept giggling in his arms.

Later, Laura really fell asleep, but it wasn't long before she woke up again, woken by the pain in her chest.

The milk hadn't been expressed, and Laura's chest was really hurting.

But she didn't dare move 'cause Maeve was asleep, and Michael was lying next to her.

She didn't know how long it had been when she felt Michael slowly approaching, his hand slowly unbuttoning her nightgown.

Her heart started to race.

She seemed to know what he was gonna do.

She instinctively wanted to kick him away, but after a bit of struggling, she gave in.

In the end, Laura didn't resist, but her heart was pounding like crazy.

Michael quietly looked up; in the moonlight, her eyelashes were trembling.

Was she awake?

Awake but didn't push him away?

With that thought, a bold idea popped into Michael's head.

He took a deep breath, leaned in, and kissed her lips.

Laura's heart started racing.

What was Michael up to?

Michael was actually stealing a kiss while she was "asleep."

What should she do now, wake up or keep pretending to sleep?

Seeing him getting more and more daring, Laura had no choice but to pretend to wake up, and angrily punched him, "Michael, what are you doing?"

"Honey," Michael grabbed her wrists, his breath husky, "I know you weren't asleep just now."

Laura was super embarrassed.

"I was too! I don't know what you're talking about."

"Don't deny it," Michael looked at her blushing face, "You can't use me and then push me away. I want compensation."

Michael kissed her again and then whispered, "Don't wake Maeve. I worked hard to get her to sleep."

Laura glanced at Maeve, who was sleeping soundly next to her, and didn't dare to breathe loudly.

But once someone has a weakness and retreats, some people will become more and more excessive.

The next day.

Laura was woken up by the sound of Maeve's crying.

Laura was alone in the bedroom.

Laura quickly picked up Maeve, but when she saw the marks on her body, she felt extremely shy.

Damn Michael.

Although they didn't have sex last night, he touched places he shouldn't have.

And what annoyed her was that she actually had sexual desire.

After washing up, Laura had to change into a turtleneck sweater.

When she came out, Michael was already playing with Maeve. When he looked up and saw her tightly wrapped neck, a smug look flashed in his eyes.

"Honey, you look great in that turtleneck sweater."

Laura glared at him awkwardly, ignored him, and went downstairs.

In the dining room, the nanny pointed to the breakfast on the table and smiled, "Michael got up early to prepare this."

The breakfast on the table was actually not as good as when Laura was recovering after giving birth.

Normally, Laura wouldn't say anything, but thinking about how he kept her up last night, she felt inexplicably irritable.

"Just this?" Laura deliberately picked on him, "I don't have an appetite. I want noodles."

"Aren't you trying to lose weight?" Michael interrupted her.

"You mean I'm fat?" Laura was instantly hurt, "You spoke your mind. You men are all liars."

Michael looked innocent, feeling that women were unreasonable, "You mentioned earlier that the breakfasts were too greasy and not suitable for losing weight. I checked the recipes this morning to make this for you. While the taste isn't rich, it's quite nutritious."
