Chapter 838
"Miss Ray, Mr. Hernandez is in a meeting." Nathaniel interrupted Megan.
"Mr. Garcia..." Megan hesitated. "After the meeting, can you help me to...?"
"Miss Ray, if the caregiver leaves, I will arrange for another caregiver to go over. Of course, I hope you won't casually lose your temper with the caregivers. Caregivers also have dignity, and everyone is equal."
Every word Nathaniel said made Megan's eyes turn red. "Mr. Garcia, what do you mean? Even you look down on me now. Let me tell you, my place in Joseph's heart is irreplaceable," she then claimed.
"Miss Ray, that's all I wanted to say." Nathaniel hung up after speaking.
Megan was so angry she almost smashed her phone.
Fortunately, Athena came over not long after. As soon as Athena saw Megan, she burst into tears. "Miss Ray, Cassie is too malicious."
Athena recounted the events at Dragon in the afternoon.
Megan trembled all over, not because she felt sorry for Athena, but because she hadn't expected that in just a few days, Joseph would pamper Cassie so much and even take Cassie to Dragon.
"Athena, I'm sorry. It's all my fault that you got involved," Megan called out. She looked like she felt guilty and teary. "I'm useless; I couldn't even protect you."
"Miss Ray, don't say that. I've never blamed you," Athena hurriedly said. "It's just that I can't protect you anymore in the future. Dragon will send new people over. But I guess they'll leave once you're discharged. Mr. Hernandez has really been seduced by Cassie this time. He's just a jerk."
"Don't say that," Megan murmured. "Cassie, dealing with you is just the first step. What I'm afraid of is that she'll come after me next. Cassie has always resented me for suggesting she be sent to a mental hospital for treatment. Someone as vengeful as her won't let me off easily."
"Yeah, and Mr. Jude is busy with his matters now," Athena remarked and gritted her teeth. "Miss Ray, don't worry. If worse comes to worst, I won't go to Avaloria. I'll secretly stay in Madison to protect you."
"But you..." Megan sadly said.
"There's something I haven't told you. The leader of Dragon is my boyfriend," Athena suddenly said shyly. "He cares about me a lot. He'll keep this matter confidential for me."
"I never expected that." A hint of strangeness flashed in Megan's eyes, but she calmly held onto Athena's hand and said, "Congratulations, Athena. You're happier than me."
"Not really." Athena sighed. "In the end, we're all just Mr. Hernandez's dogs. We have to be careful when we're together."
"It's okay. I believe someone as lovely and kind as you. Wyatt will always like you," Megan continued.
Megan comforted Athena until she left. Only then did Megan lower her head and let out a low laugh.
She never expected Athena to be Wyatt's woman, interesting.
If Joseph really didn't come back to Megan, she wouldn't mind destroying him, the one she couldn't have. But it was not the time yet.
Megan dialed Michael's number again, speaking softly, "Michael, what are you doing?"
"Megan, I'm here waiting for Laura," Michael complained.
Michael's irritable voice came through. "Right now, only Laura can help the Ocean Blue group. I have to get that damn Laura back to the company."
