Chapter 596

Without acknowledging Leo's words, Joseph gestured subtly to Nathaniel. "Nathaniel, pass it to him," he instructed.

"Joseph, do you find this amusing?" Leo Chapman retorted, his voice laced with anger. "You took my daughter's life with your own hands, and now you're playing the hypocrite. Are you trying to assuage your guilt?"

Joseph's handsome face tightened, his eyebrows knitting together slightly, his thin lips pressing into a firm line. It was undeniable that while he wasn't directly responsible for Cassie's death, it was his negligence that had led to the tragic outcome.

Leo Chapman's irritation grew. "I made a mistake back then, leaving her to you. Leave, I never want to see you again."

"Boss, it might not be the best idea to send him away with so many witnesses," Atlas interjected, his faint smile attempting to diffuse the tension.

As if on cue, the clock struck eight. The ceremony was officially underway.

The emcee invited Leo Chapman to the stage to deliver his speech. The sight of Joseph only served to increase Leo's displeasure. Deciding to ignore him, Leo ascended the stage.

Picking up the microphone, Leo began, "Welcome, everyone, to the 30th anniversary celebration of Leo's Group. In addition to our celebration, I have an important announcement to make. Over the years, due to my health condition, Atlas and Luna have been managing most of the company's affairs. Tonight, I announce that Luna will be taking over from this point forward."

"I object."

The banquet hall doors were abruptly thrust open. All eyes turned towards the entrance.

A woman, dressed in a red velvet evening gown with a slit trailing down to her knees, revealing a pair of snow-white, graceful legs, entered. Her brown, wavy hair cascaded down her shoulders, framing her stunning face. She radiated a dazzling, mysterious aura, like a foreign beauty who had mistakenly wandered into the mortal world.

She was, without a doubt, the most beautiful woman at the banquet that night.

Her beauty was a rarity, even in a city like New York.

However, the guests soon noticed a striking resemblance between Luna and the woman in the red dress. But upon closer inspection, Luna's features paled in comparison to the delicate beauty of the woman in red.

Leo Chapman, standing on the stage, dropped the microphone with a loud thud. His gaze locked onto the woman in red, his eyes wide with shock and tinged with red. " Cassie."

Luna shrieked, " Cassie, but you're supposed to be dead."

Fear gripped Luna. She had waited for three years, anticipating her chance to take over Leo's Group, only to have it threatened by a woman who bore an uncanny resemblance to Cassie.

Vera was the first to recover. "Who is this impostor? Security, remove her immediately. She's disrupting our banquet."

As a few security guards approached Cassie, she raised an eyebrow, a look of contempt crossing her beautiful face. "Vera, as I recall, you've been divorced from Mr. Leo Chapman for two years. Since when did an outsider like you start dictating what happens at Leo's Group's important events? Don't you agree, Dad?"

Cassie's gaze was fixed on Leo Chapman. His eyes welled up with tears as he glared fiercely at Vera before turning to the approaching security guards. "Who dares to touch her? Try it."

With that, he strode excitedly towards the stage.
