Chapter 352

In the midst of the chaos, while one pulled at the sheets, another struck blows. Cassie clung tightly to the sheets, unable to fend off Luna's slaps, one after another—each one sending waves of pain across her face.

Joseph was frantic on the other side, but just as he was about to put Mildred down, Celeste urged him urgently, "Aren't you going to take your grandmother to the hospital? Do you want her to die?"

"I'll disfigure that face of yours, you seductress," threatened Vera, seizing a fruit knife.

Leo Chapman was horrified and rushed to separate the two. "Have you both lost your minds?"

"It's you who's lost it, Leo. Look at the mess your daughter has made of Luna's happiness!" Vera was beside herself with rage, reminded of Isabella's troubles from over two decades ago.

Leo was unsure of who was right or wrong at this moment, but one thing he was certain of was that he couldn't allow Cassie to be harmed.

"What on earth is going on here?"

Suddenly, a crowd of reporters burst into the scene.

Even though they had missed some critical moments, the sight of an unconscious Mildred, Joseph, disheveled Cassie, and Vera and her daughter in a scuffle was more than enough for speculation.

"Make way," Joseph commanded sternly, and as he carried Mildred out, he shot a menacing glare at the reporters, "If anyone dares to report anything from today, I'll make sure your companies go down with us."
After a stern warning, the reporters fell silent, utterly intimidated, and could only watch helplessly as Joseph led his entourage away, though their morbid curiosity was hardly diminished.

The entire Hernandez clan had rushed to the hospital, leaving only Leo's boisterous family behind, creating a scene. Luckily, it wasn't two minutes before Walter and his crew arrived, escorting Cassie out of the hotel safely.

Her face was marred with scratches, oozing blood in multiple places.

In the kaleidoscopic night outside the window, what used to be her innocently fresh face now looked hauntingly sad and grim.

Yet she seemed completely unaware of her plight, her gaze vacant, reminiscent of a soulless puppet.

She couldn't fathom how her life had spiraled to this point.

For a fleeting moment, she contemplated ending it all there and then jumping out of the moving vehicle.

Walter noticed her distress and uncomfortably handed her a tissue.

Cassie remained motionless, prompting Walter to reassure her. "Miss Brooks, don't worry. With the advancements in medicine, these wounds can be treated without leaving a mark. You'll be as beautiful as ever."

The irony in his words forced a bitter laugh from Cassie, full of scorn.

What had she done to deserve such a fate? Was it really a divine punishment just for mistaking Joseph for Arthur Lewis's uncle when they first met?

Walter, at a loss for words and riddled with a headache, felt nothing but pity for Miss Brooks.

Upon arrival at the private hospital, top surgeons attended to her wounds.

Cassie let them work on her, almost wishing the marks would destroy her beauty for good.

Once proud of her looks, she had flaunted them to ensnare Joseph, but now she was tasting the bitter consequences.

Being less attractive would work in her favor, and then Joseph would leave her be.

Her eyes reflected deep sorrow.

After her wounds were dressed with gauze, she stepped out of the hospital only to be met by David rushing towards her anxiously.

"Cassie, I heard you were in trouble."
