Cassie looked at them both and sneered, "Don't overthink. I'm not here because I'm jealous of your wedding; I'm here to give you a warning. Megan, I suggest you keep Nathan in check. Last night, someone broke into my house and smashed a lot of things. What a coincidence; during the day, Laura had just accused Nathan in front of the media, and by night, her place was broken into. Although the people who broke into my house were caught, just a few thugs, the person behind it could only be Nathan."
Joseph's expression changed slightly. He then noticed Cassie's haggard face and red, swollen eyes, as if she hadn't slept all night and had been crying.
"Was it Nathan?" He turned to look at Megan, his face very grim.
"No, that's impossible." Megan had no idea about this and felt a pang of panic.
"I specifically called Nathan yesterday. He said he didn't care about what Laura said and wouldn't bother you. Cassie, you've offended a lot of people, and you can't slander Nathan because you hate me."
"Do I need to remind you what a despicable and shameless person Nathan is? Three years ago, he dared to break into someone's house and commit violence with a knife. Cassie glared at Joseph with hatred in her eyes. "You protect Nathan all your life, and your reputation will become disgusting because of him. You're an accomplice."
Joseph's tall body trembled. His fists clenched involuntarily, and he asked in a strained voice, "Three years ago, Nathan pushed you?"
"So what if he did? Would you care? He beat my friend hard, and you used my father to force me for this woman. Joseph, don't you feel any guilt after all these years? But I guess you don't because you're just like Nathan, a cold-blooded devil."
If it weren't for his repeated indulgence, Nathan wouldn't have hired people to hurt Sophia. Thinking of that child's pained expression, Cassie's eyes reddened, and she couldn't stop trembling.
"Keep Nathan in check. Yesterday, he destroyed my home; today, I'll destroy yours. If he takes my friend's life, I'll take yours!" Cassie's eyes were filled with hatred.
Joseph suddenly felt a blockage in his heart, a very uncomfortable feeling. He didn't like her hating him, and he liked even less seeing her cry.
But soon, the police arrived.
"Joseph, did she drive into your house?" The police walked towards Cassie.
"No need, I won't press charges," Joseph suddenly said.
"Joseph." Megan bit her lip, "She almost."
"I said I won't press charges," Joseph didn't look at her, got in the car, and drove away quickly.
"Joseph." Megan wanted to chase after him, but Joseph only left her in the back of the car.
He completely forgot he had just promised to take her for a shot.
