Chapter 1026 You've Offended Mommy

"Mom can fight, and so can Spencer," Oliver snapped. "And you cut off Spencer's finger."

Joseph instantly regretted bringing it up, but some things couldn't be avoided. "You're right. I'll cut off one of my fingers and give it to him later."

Oliver frowned. "Stop lying."

"If I wasn't worried about scaring people in the restaurant, I'd do it right now," Joseph said without hesitation. "Spencer's not as good as me. Even your mom can't beat me. If you don't believe me, ask her."

They all turned to Cassie, who had been silent.

Cassie glared at Joseph. She had trained in combat for three years, and he said she wasn't as good as him. She didn't want to admit that.

Those beautiful eyes made Joseph's heart flutter slightly. "But there's one kind of combat where I'm always inferior to your mom."

"Where?" Oliver asked.

Joseph clenched his fist and coughed lightly, his eyes suggestive.

Cassie understood and couldn't take it anymore. She stomped hard on Joseph's foot under the table.

'That's what you get for behaving inappropriate in front of Oliver.'

Joseph was clearly in pain, but his lips curled up sweetly. "That's a secret between your mom and me."

Oliver looked at Cassie, puzzled. In his memory, he rarely saw Cassie like this, as beautiful as a dewy rose in the morning. She never looked like this when she was with David.

Oliver frowned deeply, lost in thought.

Joseph continued, "Also, I can teach you how to swim."

"I can swim, too," Oliver said disdainfully.

"But can you do freestyle, butterfly, breaststroke, or backstroke?" Joseph raised an eyebrow. These were child's play for him, but he never thought he'd use them to win Oliver over. "I can do them all."

Oliver pursed his lips in frustration. 'He could only do the breaststroke'. "Liar, no one can do that many."

"I'm physically strong," Joseph said proudly, holding his water glass.

"No wonder you're simple-minded," Oliver muttered under his breath.

Joseph was speechless.

Cassie laughed.

"And I also know the law," Joseph added. "Don't underestimate the law. In a society governed by law, if we understand it, we can use it to deal with those who hurt you without using our fists."

Oliver said flatly, "Really? If I knew the law, the first person I'd want to deal with is you."

"But I'm a top lawyer globally. Ordinary laws can't deal with me," Joseph said with a faint smile. "But if that day ever comes, I'll be gratified."

"What else can you do?" Oliver asked.

Joseph put down his water glass and said seriously, "When you start school, I can teach you math, chemistry, physics, biology. I know everything."

"The teachers will teach, and so will my mom," Oliver argued.

"The teachers only teach general knowledge, and they don't know as much as I do. As for your mom," Joseph looked at Cassie and smiled, "Cassie, do you know what elements make up water?"

'Who remembers such an old question?'

Joseph smiled at Oliver. "See, this is just the simplest introductory knowledge in chemistry, but your mom doesn't remember. In terms of learning, what do you think she can teach you?"

Oliver looked at Cassie with a bit of disdain.

For the first time in her life, Cassie was looked down upon by Oliver, and she glared at Joseph hatefully.

She thought, 'You want to prove yourself to Oliver, but why do you have to put me down? Do I have no pride?'

Sensing Cassie's anger, Joseph quickly coughed and carefully placed all the cut steak on Cassie's plate. "Of course, Cassie can teach you how to draw. She's a world-renowned top designer with amazing drawing skills."

"Enough, Joseph, shut up." Cassie rolled her eyes at him, casually forked two pieces of steak, and went to find Sophia.

"You've upset Mom," Oliver concluded, putting down his knife and fork. "I'm full."

With that, his small frame jumped off the chair and went to find Cassie and Sophia.

Joseph quickly followed them into the play area.

Cassie was playing on the slide with Sophia. Oliver played with the building blocks for a while but lost interest and went to build a playground.

Joseph sat silently next to him and also started building.

A few minutes later, Oliver glanced over and saw that he was building an aircraft carrier.

He looked down at his playground and suddenly found it quite boring.

"Oliver, I'm not very good at this. I need a helper. Would you be willing to help me?" Joseph suddenly looked at him pleadingly. "I can't find the cannonballs."

Oliver's eyebrows furrowed, and finally, he grabbed a cannonball from the side and handed it to him.

"You're awesome, thank you," Joseph said, taking it. "You help me with this side, and I'll do this side, okay?"

Oliver hesitated for a few seconds and finally moved over.

When Cassie came over with a sweaty Sophia, she saw them working together on a huge aircraft carrier model.

This scene made Cassie feel a mix of emotions.

As a mother, she felt that Oliver's guard against Joseph was gradually lowering.

Oliver liked to play with educational toys, which she wasn't good at. Usually, Oliver figured it out on his own, or occasionally, David would play with him.

But she understood that David was not Oliver's biological father.

Oliver certainly had resentment towards Joseph, but who knew if he wasn't curious about what it felt like to have a dad?

Just like Sophia, she was close to Joseph when she was around him.

Blood ties are something that can't be severed.

"Joseph, Oliver, what are you playing? I want to play, too." Sophia curiously approached.

"This kind of brainy stuff isn't for you." Oliver wouldn't let her touch his model.

"What's so great about it?" Sophia got angry.

"Sophia, don't be mad. Come here, I'll teach you how to play." Joseph quickly pulled Sophia into his arms and guided her in playing with Legos.

Seeing Sophia and Oliver quietly and seriously by Joseph's side, Cassie sighed.

A woman playing with her child passed by and said enviously, "Your husband is so handsome and patient. You're so lucky. Unlike my husband, who plays games outside when it's time to be with the kids."

Cassie followed her gaze and saw several men sitting by the playground playing on their phones.

She felt a mix of emotions.

Maybe letting Sophia and Oliver get to know Joseph wasn't a bad thing.

Although Oliver and Sophia liked David, she could tell they were still not close to him.

Probably because Oliver and Sophia knew David wasn't their biological dad and couldn't be willful.
