Chapter 1028 Such A David Was Terrifying

Cassie stood there, lost in thought.

David's voice broke the silence. "Cassie, why are you just standing there?"

"Nothing." She quickly put down her phone, feeling a bit lost as she looked at David's warm face. "I'm going to take a shower."

David squinted slightly, watching her walk away. 'Where did she go tonight?' he wondered.

Even with Cassie right next to him, David felt like she was slipping away.

When he went upstairs, the master bedroom door was already shut.

For the first time, he didn't knock. He just walked in. The sound of running water came from the bathroom.

In the dead of night, the sound of water was like a cat's paw scratching at David's heart.

David always had women around him. Lola had just been intimate with him today, and Megan was always full of romantic tricks, but they weren't Cassie.

Cassie was stunningly beautiful, with captivating eyes and a body like a rare gem.

He had long desired her. David clenched his fists, thinking, 'If it weren't for Cameron's threats...'

Twenty minutes later, Cassie came out of the shower and was startled to see David sitting on the bed.

She instinctively covered her chest with a towel.

Usually, after she closed the bedroom door, he rarely came in, so she had gotten used to it. She didn't pay much attention after showering.

But even though she covered herself, David still caught a glimpse. Her half-dry hair draped over her shoulders, looking messy but even more alluring.

At this moment, her shy appearance after the shower was even more beautiful.

Unlike Lola and Megan, who always had meticulously done makeup, making him less inclined to kiss them.

"Cassie." The fire in David's eyes ignited instantly.

"David, what's up?" His gaze made Cassie nervous.

"Can't I come in to see you even if I don't need anything?" David's Adam's apple bobbed; he didn't want to hold back anymore.

The more he held back, the further he pushed her away.

Only by completely possessing her could she truly belong to him.

Even if Cameron knew his true intentions, so what? Once she had his child, everything would be different. Besides, Cameron didn't install surveillance in the villa.

"But I'm going to sleep; I'm very tired today," Cassie said tactfully.

"Yes, it's late. Let's sleep together. We're married and shouldn't sleep in separate beds." David's burning gaze fixed on her.

Cassie stared at him in shock.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" David smiled. "Don't you want to sleep with me?"

"Well..." Cassie stammered.

"Then let's sleep." David lay down on the bed.

Cassie's mind went blank for a moment. She told herself this was normal and she had mentally prepared for this before.

However, her body dawdled, applying skincare one moment, blow-drying her hair the next, until David seemed to be asleep, and she finally lay down.

After the lights went out, she carefully lay on the edge of the bed.

But soon, David's body moved closer.

She gripped the corner of the blanket, mentally prepared, but she still couldn't stand it, even feeling nauseous.

"David, I'm very tired. Can we do it next time?" She pushed hard.

But David was like a madman, stubborn and relentless, even hurting her.

In the end, she couldn't take it anymore. She grabbed the lamp from the bedside table and smashed it on his head.

In that instant, David looked up, his gentle eyes flashing with a bone-chilling coldness.

Moonlight fell on his face, and Cassie shivered involuntarily. She found David terrifying.

She actually found David terrifying.

But just a few seconds later, David's refined and handsome face was replaced with pain, disappointment, and sadness, making Cassie doubt if everything just now was an illusion.

"Cassie, do you hate me that much?" David looked at her with bloodshot eyes.

"No." Cassie curled up into a ball, feeling desperate and numb. "I'm sorry, David."

She tried to sleep with David, but her whole body was filled with resistance.

Even today, when Joseph kissed her, she didn't feel disgusted.

She found Joseph's scent very pleasant. If she didn't try hard to stay rational, she would be lost in his kiss. Her body seemed instinctively accustomed to Joseph and couldn't accept any other man.

She was on the verge of breaking down. "David, maybe we should..."

"Don't say it," David abruptly interrupted her, his eyes filled with fear and despair. "Cassie, I've loved you and waited for you for so many years. I finally got to marry you. I thought I could finally be with you for the rest of my life. If you still want to leave me, I don't know how I will live."

Cassie was speechless.

David's words filled her with overwhelming guilt, but at the same time, they felt like shackles locking her down.

He made her feel utterly lost and helpless.

"Don't overthink it. Good night. I won't force you anymore. It was my fault; I scared you." David patted her head and turned to leave.

However, as he walked out, his eyes were replaced with a vicious hatred.

He cursed in his mind, 'Very well, Cassie. I had originally thought of leaving you some dignity after my revenge. But now, I won't. One day, I will make you pay for tonight, making your life a living hell.'

Cassie didn't sleep all night.

However, Joseph, watching over Oliver and Sophia, slept very well.

Before sleeping, he even told Oliver and Sophia a bedtime story.

After Oliver and Sophia fell asleep, he looked at their clean and adorable faces, and his longing for Cassie surged like a tide.

He missed her so much.

He wanted her to come back to him quickly; they would be very happy together.

In the future, he would only listen to Cassie. Whoever Cassie didn't want him to associate with, he wouldn't. Whatever Cassie didn't allow him to do, he would never do.

At six in the morning, Joseph got up to cook.

Mildred and Walter woke up early and were surprised to see Joseph busy in the kitchen.

"What's going on today? Joseph is actually cooking breakfast." Mildred marveled. "I never thought I'd get to have breakfast made by Joseph in my lifetime."

"Grandma, don't worry. From now on, you'll get to have it every day." Joseph smiled back. He used to be very serious, but now, was carring a smile on his handsome face.

Mildred and Walter were utterly astonished.
