Chapter 1417 Why Can't You Leave Me Alone

"Reasons?"

Laura let out a bitter laugh, almost losing it, with tears brimming in her eyes.

Oh my God, what kind of idiot had she been into before?

"Are you nuts? You believe everything Megan says?"

Michael, after being chewed out by her over and over, was getting pissed too. "You really think I'm that dumb? You think I can't tell right from wrong? Just stay put; don't hurt Megan. I'm coming over right now."

"Then hurry up. Not only am I gonna hurt Megan, I'm gonna kill her."

Laura was so mad she almost smashed her phone.

Cassie didn't hear Michael's voice, but seeing Laura's face, she could guess that idiot Michael had said something infuriating again.

If it were before, it would be one thing for these two to argue over Megan, since they had no feelings for each other.

But now it was different. Everything that should have happened had happened, and Michael had been so good to Laura before.

The sudden change was too much for anyone to accept.

Especially since the other woman was Megan.

Laura was on the verge of losing it. She furiously grabbed a fire extinguisher and started smashing it against the door lock.

Cassie quickly stopped her. "Don't be impulsive. That's a fire extinguisher. If you break it, will it explode? It's not worth it for Michael."

"Will it explode?" Laura asked, tears in her eyes.

"I'm not really sure," Cassie said awkwardly. "Let's wait. Joseph is on his way."

Laura, persuaded by Cassie, gave up and leaned against the wall to wait.

Laura's mind was filled with fantasies of how to kill that bitch Megan and make Michael's life a living hell.

But after ten minutes of these grim thoughts, she slowly calmed down.

Killing for Megan and Michael wasn't worth it.

Just then, the door suddenly opened.

Megan, who they hadn't seen in a long time, appeared in their view, leaning on a crutch. She was wearing an expensive silk nightgown, and in the cold weather, a wave of comfortable warmth emanated from inside.

Beside her, a middle-aged woman carefully supported her.

Megan had the air of a noblewoman.

Seeing Laura, Megan spoke bitterly, "I didn't expect you to find me here. Now, I have nothing left. Why can't you leave me alone?"

Cassie frowned coldly.

Laura, unable to hold back any longer, slapped Megan across the face.

Megan fell to the ground, her face immediately swelling up and blood trickling from the corner of her mouth. Megan gritted her teeth, clutching her leg in apparent pain.

The maid beside her was terrified and quickly reached out to help her. "Oh my, Miss Ray, are you alright?"

"It hurts," Megan's face twisted with anguish.

Laura thought she was faking it and pointed at her, cursing, "Keep pretending. Go on, you always liked to pretend. And you ask why we won't leave you alone? The things you've done are insane. David didn't expose you, but don't take us for fools."

"Megan, it's time to settle the score between us," Cassie said expressionlessly. "Are you coming with us willingly, or do we have to drag you out?"

Megan bit her lip, tears streaming down her face as she screamed, "I had nothing to do with David's mess. I barely know him. Please, let me go. I promise I'll never oppose you again. Laura, I swear I'll stay far away from Michael. I won't compete with you for him. I'm begging you."

Struggling, Megan got up and knelt, bowing her head. "You have everything now, and I've lost it all. I just want to survive."

Laura sneered, "Stop pretending."

"Megan, what are you doing? Get up."

From behind, Michael's anxious voice suddenly rang out.

Megan's face stiffened, and before she could react, Michael rushed over and helped her up from the ground.

Megan immediately leaned against his chest, looking helpless. "Michael, let go of me."

Michael looked down at her tear-streaked, swollen face, a flash of anger in his eyes. "Your face."

"I hit her," Laura said loudly, her pupils reflecting the sight of her husband holding the woman she despised the most.

Laura wanted nothing more than to kill both Megan and Michael.

Michael glared at Laura, irritated. "Why are you always so hot-headed? Megan has her reasons. Things aren't as simple as you think. In David's matter, Megan is also a victim."

"Victim?" Laura sneered. "Michael, I'm not going to argue with you. Are you determined to protect her today?"

"Laura, I can't let you hurt Megan," Michael said without hesitation. "I already owe Megan too much. And you, you're the Goddaughter of the President. My family likes you very much. You have everything you want. My wife's spot is yours. Do you know how many people envy you? And Megan has nothing. Don't think I'm saying this because I have something with her. I'm being honest."

He thought he had been tactful enough.

But Cassie, hearing this, worriedly grabbed Laura's shoulder.

As it turned out, Michael's words nearly drove Laura insane.

"So, in your eyes, I already have so much," Laura laughed, tears streaming down her face. "Do you think I care about being your wife? If I hadn't accidentally gotten pregnant and been forced by your sister, and you hadn't begged me on your knees, I wouldn't have married you. You're disgusting. People like you don't deserve love. What makes you think you're worthy of anyone's love? You're just a piece of trash."

Laura completely lost her sanity and started cursing.

Laura finally understood why so many couples become enemies during a divorce.

They had once shared the most intimate moments in the same bed, but in the end, they used the most vicious words to attack each other.

Michael's face turned dark, his eyes filled with embarrassment and anger.

Megan wanted to laugh but pretended to defend him. "Laura, you're going too far. Michael cares about you. Why do you have to hurt him with such harsh words? You were married, after all."

"Married? I want a divorce. I don't want to spend another second with him," Laura said, knowing full well that Megan was deliberately trying to drive a wedge between her and Michael.
