Chapter 1044 Are You Shy?
Violet chuckled. "You're right, but unfortunately, many people can't see this truth. Don't worry. With Robert and Laura, even if Ralph wants to target you, we'll protect you."
"Thank you," Cassie sincerely expressed her gratitude again.
After the car left, she returned to David's car.
David looked at her, "Cassie, what did Mrs. Jude talk to you about?"
Cassie sighed slightly. "She just had a few words with me."
David's expression changed slightly. "What happened tonight? The party isn't over yet. Why did Ralph let us leave early?"
"Maybe because I'm Joseph's ex-wife. Marigold sees me as a rival and always causes trouble for me. We accidentally had a conflict," Cassie said bitterly, "I'm sorry for causing you trouble."
David clenched his fists secretly. Cassie had no idea how much effort David had put into pleasing Ralph, and just when he was about to enter their circle, she ruined it completely.
He could only hold back, afraid that he would lose control of his emotions.
The eerie silence in the car made Cassie nervous. "David, I understand you want to please the Dixon family, but Ralph is not a good person."
Ralph, who could raise a daughter like Marigold and was narrow-minded, couldn't be a good person.
"Cassie, you don't understand," David interrupted, "People in their position are never simple and kind. Forget it, you don't understand. I'll apologize to Ralph properly. Since you don't like the Dixon family, you shouldn't attend such parties in the future."
He turned his head to the window.
Cassie could feel that he was really angry, just holding it in.
She was also feeling complicated.
The neon lights outside the window flashed by, and she slowly lost her focus.
She recalled the scene in the bathroom earlier.
Joseph's burning kiss, her actively holding him.
Everything was so shameful that it made her blush and her heart race.
Fortunately, Cassie had anticipated that Marigold would start looking for her after not finding Joseph, so she quickly helped him recover a bit and had him climb out of the bathroom window.
Tonight was thrilling enough to make her break out in a cold sweat, but luckily she got out smoothly.
However, what she did for Joseph made her feel confused.
Maybe she was really used to Joseph. Even after the divorce, no matter how intimate she was with Joseph, she didn't feel disgusted, but when David touched her, she felt like vomiting.
For the first time, she felt confused about her current marriage.
Whether David was the murderer of Arthur or not, she couldn't continue living with him.
She needed to find time to talk about divorce with him.
After a quiet drive to the villa, David immediately went to the study, and Cassie immediately went upstairs to brush her teeth
As she brushed, shameful images flashed through her mind, and seeing her red and swollen lips in the mirror made her blushed.
She lowered her head and quickly brushed her teeth clean, even wanting to erase Joseph's scent.
Just as she was thinking, Joseph called.
She was so scared that she instinctively hung up the phone.
Immediately after, a text message came in from Joseph: [I'm home, baby. Thank you. I didn't expect you to help me like that tonight. I love you.]
Cassie, blushing, threw her phone aside and splashed cold water on her face, trying to calm herself down.
But moments later, Joseph sent another text: [Why aren't you replying? Are you shy?]
Cassie, unable to bear it, replied: [Get lost.]
Joseph: [I will never get lost. You saved me again. You are my savior. I can only repay you with my life.]
'Scoundrel,' Cassie cursed in her mind, her heart skipping a beat.
Just then, the bedroom door suddenly opened, and she saw David striding in, frowning. She would have to lock the door in the future.
"Cassie, I just called Ralph to apologize. He said I should contact him less in the future." David's elegant and handsome face looked very unpleasant, even showing uncontrollable anger. "He said you were aggressive and forced him to hit Marigold at her birthday party. He's afraid to provoke you now."
Cassie felt a bit guilty, but she anticipated this as Ralph was narrow-minded. Although Violet was present at the time, it was normal for Ralph to retaliate against David afterward. "David, it was Marigold who kept causing trouble for me tonight."
"Ralph said you and Joseph were having an affair in the bathroom tonight," David suddenly interrupted, his eyes filled with rage.
Cassie's face turned pale.
If it were someone else, she could lie cunningly, but facing David, she didn't know how to respond.
As Cassie was silent, David was overwhelmed.
He could no longer control himself and roared, "Cassie, how could you do this to me? I kept giving you chances, and this is how you repay me? When I touch you, you act like you're dying, but when Joseph touches you, you enjoy it. How can you be so cheap?"
He wanted to control himself, but Ralph's anger and another betrayal by her made him completely crazy.
As he thought about her hiding and having an affair with Joseph at the party, he was furious.
Cassie stared at him in shock.
The David in front of her was ferocious, completely different from his usual gentle and elegant self.
She even thought she was hallucinating when she heard such vicious words from him.
However, Cassie could stand in David's shoes, as anyone would be hurt and angry in this situation.
"David, I'm sorry. I didn't want to lie to you. I tried hard to accept you, but no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't." Cassie explained.
A crisp slap landed on Cassie's face.
David's strength was so heavy that it knocked her onto the bed, and her whole face swelled up.
Cassie hadn't recovered from the shock when David pounced on her like a madman, tearing at her clothes.
"If you're so cheap, then I don't need to respect you anymore. Tonight, I will have you. However, you were with Joseph. You'll be with me tonight," David shouted.
As her clothes were torn open, Cassie's skin quickly showed bruises.
"David, let me go." Cassie struggled hard, but David paid her no mind.
Cassie felt both unfamiliar and scared. Fortunately, she was quite skilled.
She managed to grab his wrist and kicked him away.
David was thrown to the side but came after her again.
During the struggle, they knocked over several vases.
