Chapter 1689 You Must Come Back

"Given that I am now your legal wife."

Julia shook the marriage certificate, raising her delicate eyebrows. "And starting today, we need to live together. Think about it yourself—are you moving to my place, or am I moving to yours?"

Elliott was taken aback.

He hadn't thought about living together yet.

After all, he had always lived with his parents. However, he had previously invested in an apartment in Whisperlyn City. It wasn't very big, just about a thousand square feet. Before the Miller family bought a villa in Whisperlyn City, he had always lived there.

But the problem was that his parents were in Whisperlyn City, and he would suddenly be moving out alone.

Besides, compared to where Julia lived, his apartment was probably very small.

After a moment, he asked with a faint expression, "I live with my parents. Do you want to join us?"

"Sure, as long as you don't mind." Julia suddenly smiled lightly, with a hint of provocation in her eyes.

She rarely smiled in the business world, and when she did, her entire delicate face was stunning.

Elliott's heart suddenly felt like it was being pulled hard.

He instinctively looked away, and when he realized his lapse, he glared at her fiercely.

Julia was silent.

Did this annoy Elliott?

Did he dislike her that much?

She felt a bit heavy-hearted, but having come this far, there was no room for regret.

"I mind." Elliott said coldly after calming down, "But I have an apartment outside. It's not big, only a thousand square feet. It might be too small for you."

"I don't like living in too big a house either; it feels empty." Julia asked, "Give me the door code. I'll move in tonight."

Elliott's feelings were complicated. "I'll text you the code later. In the meantime, you should call Cascade Industries Group. The Miller Group can't hold on any longer."

"Okay." Julia nodded.

"I have something to do, so I'll leave first." Seeing her agree, Elliott pursed his lips and walked away with long strides.

If he stayed any longer, he wouldn't know how to interact with her.

Watching his retreating figure, Julia lifted a self-mocking smile.

After she got in the car, Derek called her. His voice was filled with light-hearted joy, "So, did you succeed in forcing the marriage?"

"Just got the marriage certificate." Julia smiled bitterly. "But by forcing him like this, he probably hates me. Elliott is a proud person."

"Not necessarily."

"What do you mean?" Julia was curious.

"I got some information from Laura. Didn't I previously encourage Laura to ask Elliott if he could get Cassie to help solve the Miller Group's problem? But Elliott didn't agree."

Julia was stunned. "He doesn't like owing favors. That's normal."

"When a person is pushed to the limit, they don't care about owing favors. Look at which company doesn't rely on connections nowadays. Besides, Laura and Cassie are such good friends. Asking Cassie for help would solve the company's problem without sacrificing his marriage. Even the proudest person would agree. In my opinion, he might have willingly jumped into this marriage."

Julia's heartbeat quickened but soon calmed down. "That's impossible. He's always had a problem with me."

"Maybe he's just saying one thing and meaning another," Derek said with a smile.

Julia felt a bit confused by his words. "So now that we're married, what should I do next?"

"It's simple. Live together and tempt him." Derek chuckled. "But now that you're married, you can't dress in such dull colors like you did in the Jude family. Those colors are too plain. At home, dress a bit more sexy and charming. Few men can resist that."

Julia touched the air conditioning vent. It wasn't on, but she suddenly felt a bit hot, her cheeks slightly flushed. "You think everyone is like you and Laura."

"Men are all pretty much the same. You can't both be cold and indifferent. Someone has to take the initiative."

Julia didn't say anything.

For now, it seemed she had to take the initiative.

Since it was Elliott, it didn't matter if she took the initiative.

After talking to the chairman of Cascade Industries Group, Elliott soon received a call from President Rocco. The other party vaguely said that they had re-examined the situation, and the previous issue was a misunderstanding. The two companies could continue to cooperate.

Horizon Technologies Group also resumed cooperation, and even the shipping company they worked with returned to normal operations in the morning.

Elliott felt very complicated.

He had always known Julia was formidable. She not only controlled the Jude Group but also had a firm grip on EchoReach.

But he hadn't expected Julia to be this powerful.

This was also indirectly telling him that letting the Miller Group off was easy, but making things difficult for them again would be just as easy.

He reluctantly sent her the address and code of his apartment.

On the other side, Julia rarely worked overtime. After canceling her social engagements, she left work early.

She didn't rush to Elliott's apartment but went to a nearby mall, picking out several sets of pajamas and loungewear.

She wore a mask, and while buying pajamas, the sales assistant recommended several camisole dresses. "Miss, would you like to try this nightgown? It's made of ice silk, very comfortable for the upcoming summer."

Julia glanced at it. There was a black one, but it had a deep V-neck and a very short hem.

There was also a champagne-colored one. They were all quite sexy.

Her cheeks flushed, and after a moment, she nodded.

Seeing her so generous, the sales assistant recommended several more sets of intimate wear.

When she came out with the bags, her whole face was hot, luckily hidden by the mask.

Since breaking up with Elliott at twenty-two, her life had been very ascetic. At this moment, she felt like she was coming alive again.

It was as if she had returned to the time when she was passionately in love.

Although she was a bit nervous and at a loss, she was genuinely looking forward to it.

When she arrived at Elliott's apartment, she entered the code and went in. It seemed like no one had lived there for a while. The place was stuffy, and there was a layer of dust on the floor.

She opened the windows and mopped the floor. By the time she finished, it was dark outside.

She checked the time; it was already 6:30 PM.

She called Elliott. "When are you coming back?"

It was quite noisy on his end. Elliott paused for a few seconds upon hearing her voice. "You're at my place?"

"Where else?"

Elliott frowned. She was a workaholic, and he thought she wouldn't come back until midnight. "I'm out for a social engagement."

"When are you coming back?" Julia asked directly.

Elliott snorted. "I never said I was coming over tonight."

"No way." Julia bit her lip, refusing to agree. "Tonight is our first night as a married couple. You have to come back."
