Chapter 1585 I Love You
"That's not true, I was just joking," Laura quickly explained, "Cassie and I always talk freely in private, you shouldn't take it seriously."
"But I kinda did, and I'm a bit scared. I'm afraid that I don't matter to you at all." Derek felt very aggrieved.
In this world, there weren't many women who could remain indifferent when they saw a handsome, and young man feeling sad.
Especially when Derek was someone Laura likeed and felt guilty towards.
At this moment, Laura was feeling sad.
She really didn't have much experience in comforting men.
Feeling at a loss, her mind went blank, and she impulsively threw herself into his arms, kissing him on the lips. "No, you are very important to me. I like you very much. I was just too embarrassed to admit my feelings in front of Cassie. I promise you, I will never say it again."
"Just like me?" Derek still felt aggrieved and disappointed. "You said you love me in your texts."
Laura's face turned red. She mustered up the courage and shyly whispered, "I love you."
After saying that, her heart started pounding wildly, and she lowered her head in embarrassment.
Derek looked down at the top of her head, a hint of a smile in his eyes. "Really?"
He bent down slowly, trying to look at her face.
Laura, unable to avoid his gaze any longer, felt embarrassed and lightly punched him. "Enough, if you keep pushing me, I won't talk to you anymore."
"How am I pushing you? I was just hurt and panicked," Derek held her fist and pressed it to his chest. "I love you too, and my love for you is even greater."
He quickly leaned down and planted a deep kiss on her lips.
"Are you not angry anymore?" Laura hugged his neck.
"I was never angry, just sad, understand?" Derek said, then kissed her again.
This time, it wasn't just a simple kiss but a long, passionate one.
Laura felt her whole body heat up from his kiss.
On the plane back, she had imagined what it would be like to meet Derek.
Would it be like on TV, where they kiss passionately as soon as they met, or would they hug and spin around?
Just imagining such a scene made her nervous, shy, and a little excited.
"Sweetie, you said your body is in its best shape now. Let me see." Derek snickered.
Unknowingly, the kiss had changed.
The sound of rustling clothes filled the car.
Laura shyly scratched him. "Derek, you rogue."
A low voice from the man replied, "Yes, your body is really perfect. I like it."
His suggestive words were like a lighter igniting fireworks, exploding with heat.
Laura, unable to bear it, bit his lip. "You bad boy."
"No, I'm a handsome man, as you said," Derek buried his face in her fragrant shoulder. "When will we make love?"
Before she could react, Derek's kisses rained down again.
The temperature in the car rose, and she was instinctively bewitched by his presence, slowly kissing him back.
After a long time, her mind was in a whirl.
When his lips finally left hers, she saw his flushed, handsome face and blurted out, "Next time, okay? I haven't showered today."
After saying that, she buried herself in his chest.
Derek hugged her tightly and laughed softly, "Okay."
He hadn't planned on doing anything today anyway. He knew she was worried about Maeve, and even if he took her upstairs, her mind would be elsewhere.
"Don't make me wait too long, okay?" Derek kissed her hair and said hoarsely.
Laura tugged at his zipper and whispered, "You've changed. You weren't like this before."
"Yes, you should be proud. You've turned a gentleman into this," Derek chuckled, "How can you be so charming?"
Laura laughed at his words. "I think you were never a gentleman. You were just pretending."
"No," Derek said helplessly, "I used to think I could maintain good manners with everyone. But after meeting you, everything changed. At first, I have thought just patting your head was enough. Then I wanted to hold your hand, then kiss you, and now, you know."
He finished speaking and kissed her again, as if he could never get satisfied.
They lingered in the car for half an hour.
When they finally separated, Laura gradually adapted to their passionate relationship.
There was no sense of insecurity, she could ask for anything freely. Because he was hers alone.
On the way back to the Presidential Palace, Derek handed her his phone to watch videos of Maeve from the past few days.
Laura watched sweetly. After finishing, and before they reached their destination, she opened Derek's Facebook and sneaked a glance at the man driving beside her. "Is it okay if I look?"
"The phone password is your birthday plus the day we started dating," Derek said openly.
That meant she could look at anything she wanted.
Laura smiled, lowered her head, and started fiddling with his phone. She found that many women had messaged him on Facebook. Some he ignored, some he politely declined, and some he ended the conversation with, making it impossible to continue.
"I haven't realized you were so popular," she hummed, "Why do you have so many girls on your Facebook? They all look pretty."
"Some are socialites, some are children and relatives of politicians, and some are colleagues. But I have no romantic involvement with any of them and didn't give them any chances," Derek explained with a smile. "This shows that the man you love isn't bad. You have a good taste."
"Narcissist," Laura rolled her eyes at him. "I'm going to block all of them."
"Up to you," he said nonchalantly.
"You really don't mind?" Laura was surprised. "These are all connections and resources."
