Chapter 1174 I Brought You Breakfast
The Hernandez Group
Wyatt waited at the door for an hour.
Joseph was now in the spotlight. After the Chamberlain family fell, he quickly took over the Chamberlain Group, making a name for himself globally.
In his early thirties, Joseph had bounced back from the brink of bankruptcy at lightning speed.
From evening to late night, many big names wanted to meet Joseph, but most were turned away.
"Mr. Powell, Mr. Hernandez will see you now," Nathaniel said, opening the door.
"Thanks." Wyatt nodded and walked in.
Joseph signed the last contract, set it aside, and looked up. "You're here about Athena, right?"
"What are you planning to do with her?" Wyatt asked hesitantly. "I know she killed Liam, and you probably won't let her go."
"You still want her?" Joseph sneered. "She tried everything to get the antidote from me, even seducing and sleeping with Dennis. You don't mind?"
"I've despised her since I found out about her and Dennis," Wyatt shook his head. "I only care about the child she's carrying."
"I keep my word. If you hadn't infiltrated as an undercover agent and tipped us off, Oliver and Sophia might have been in trouble." Joseph put the pen down and crossed his fingers. "After the child is born, Athena will go to the police, and you'll raise the child."
"Thank you." Wyatt's expression softened. "Mr. Hernandez, can I return to Dragon? I want to serve you again."
"No, Wyatt. Dragon isn't a place for you to retire. Find a peaceful life with the child," Joseph said calmly. "I already have a new candidate for Dragon."
"Alright, I expected this. Thank you, Mr. Hernandez." Wyatt smiled bitterly, nodded, and left.
Joseph sat quietly for a while. About ten minutes later, Joel walked in and knelt on one knee. "Mr. Hernandez, I'm back."
The light fell on Joel's young, cold face with slightly dark skin and sharp eyes.
Joseph had sent her abroad for tough training, and now Joel was the new leader of Dragon.
"Wyatt just left," Joseph waved, signaling her to get up.
Joel hesitated, looking troubled. "Are you really making me the leader of Dragon?"
"This recent disaster for the Hernandez Group showed me that many in Dragon aren't loyal. The leader needs loyalty and skill. After your training, you have both. Joel, I hope you can restore Dragon's former glory quickly." Joseph tapped the table. "What I value most is your loyalty to Cassie."
Joel was shocked and, after a moment, said, "I will continue to be loyal to Ms. Brooks, just as I am to you."
"No, I want you to be even more loyal to her, Sophia, and Oliver," Joseph reminded. "Sometimes, my decisions might not be right."
Joel opened her mouth, then nodded. "Got it."
"I have a task for you. Send someone to Silverwood to bring Spencer and Peter back from Silverwood. They're injured and need to recuperate at Dragon," Joseph instructed.
"Alright, I'll handle it."
The next morning, while Joseph was still sleeping in the office lounge, Nathaniel's voice came from outside the door.
"Mr. Hernandez should still be sleeping."
"Alright, I know, I won't wake him." A graceful voice replied, and the door was gently pushed open. Cassie walked in, wearing a one-shoulder red plaid dress, one exposed shoulder alluring and seductive. Coupled with her delicate features, Joseph felt a sudden rush of heat in his chest.
"You're awake." Cassie paused when she met his eyes.
"Why are you here so early?" Joseph rubbed his messy hair.
"I came to see if you have any beauties hidden in the office lounge," Cassie teased, looking around.
Before she could finish, Joseph pulled her into his firm, hot chest.
"There's a beauty right here." Joseph flipped her onto the bed and kissed her dominantly.
Cassie pounded his back, but he ignored her.
"Joseph, stop it. The door isn't closed," she said anxiously, scratching his back.
Joseph immediately picked her up, continued kissing her, and quickly closed and locked the door with his other hand.
Cassie was dumbfounded. "I brought you breakfast."
"I've already received breakfast, and it tastes delicious." Joseph chuckled, his voice hoarse.
Cassie blushed deeply, understanding they had been very busy lately, leaving little time for intimacy.
What followed was only natural.
However, Joseph couldn't please Cassie as there was no snap in his turtle.
Joseph went to the bathroom, cold water falling from the showerhead. He punched the wall hard.
"Don't do that, you'll be fine." Cassie hugged him from behind.
Joseph's body trembled. He turned around, his breathing rapid, but he could only smile bitterly: "You know my condition, yet you still deliberately tempt me."
"You don't say it, but I know you feel uncomfortable." Cassie blushed and stuck out her tongue.
Joseph's eyes deepened, and he hugged her tightly, his voice hoarse. "Don't expose your shoulder again."
Cassie looked puzzled.
"Your shoulder is too tempting," Joseph said through gritted teeth.
Cassie understood instantly.
"Since you're here, stay with me a bit longer," Joseph said, kissing her again.
It seemed he could never get enough of kissing her. Just as he held her and moved back to the bed, his phone rang.
Cassie picked it up, answered, and put it on speaker. A police officer's voice came through. "Mr. Hernandez, Marcus committed suicide last night."
