Chapter 823
Joseph tensed up suddenly.
At that moment, it felt like there was magma ready to erupt from within his body.
Joseph's breathing slightly intensified, his fiery gaze fixed on Cassie's fair face. He suspected that Cassie was deliberately trying to seduce him.
"Well, no more bleeding." Cassie's lips left Joseph's finger. Cassie was not unaware of Joseph's burning gaze. But men, sometimes, needed a little teasing and a little reward, to leave a lasting impression in their minds.
Expressionless, Joseph glanced at his non-bleeding finger for a moment, then deliberately pricked another finger with a crab and then extended it, saying, "Bleeding again."
Cassie fell silent.
Did Joseph think Cassie was blind? How shameless could Joseph be?
"Sir," Cassie called out and raised her hand to signal the waiter, "Bring me some salt, please."
Joseph frowned, feeling that things were not quite in line with what he had in mind, "Don't you see the blood is flowing more and more?"
"It's okay; a little salt will fix it later," Cassie smiled like a sly fox, "With the wind blowing and the fire roasting, we can even have a barbecue."
Her words angered Joseph, and then he huffed irritably, "Why were you able to help me suck it out before but not now?"
" Do I have a problem that I'm sucking on your fingers? Others might think I'm crazy. Besides, your hands have bacteria," Cassie retorted, also getting annoyed.
Her scolding instantly silenced Joseph.
Failing in his attempt, Joseph could only silently use a napkin to stop the bleeding.
"Forget it, and I'll do it myself. My boyfriend is so useless. He can't even shell a crab properly," Cassie sighed.
"Alright, I'll do it." The dejected Joseph had no choice but to obediently shell the crab for her again, feeling like he was lowering himself more and more in front of Cassie.
But thinking of the moment when Cassie sucked on his finger to draw blood, he couldn't help but feel a stirring in his heart.
However, before long, Lucas arrived with Sarah.
"Joseph, it's really you. I thought I was wrong," Lucas yelled out with his hand in his pocket, with a surprised expression on his gentle face.
Joseph and Lucas used to go out to eat together often, with Megan usually accompanying them. He had at most seen Joseph feeding Megan but never serving her like this, shelling shrimps and crabs as if Cassie were his master.
Sarah was even more surprised. During gatherings, she knew Joseph could be aloof, but she never expected him to be so kind to Cassie now.
Sarah felt a deep sense of hatred. She had thought Joseph must have abandoned Cassie. It was because Megan was so useless, despite her efforts to please Megan for three years.
"Mr. Hernandez..." Sarah hesitated, "I saw you from a distance just now and couldn't believe it. Does Megan know you are with Cassie? She's still living in the dormitory. Isn't it inappropriate?"
Joseph cast a cold glance at Sarah.
Sarah felt as if sharp knives had passed over her face, shivering. "I'm sorry... I... maybe I've been too involved. Maybe it's because I have a good relationship with Megan. Megan is quite pitiful now."
Cassie leisurely took a sip of warm water, remarking, "It's clear that you've always had a good relationship with Megan. Otherwise, how did you know three years ago that after every gathering, Joseph would return to Megan's place, and the next day, you could clearly see the hickey on Megan's neck?"
