Chapter 739

"Tyler," Cassie said flatly.
Joseph's handsome face flashed with a touch of frost. He wanted to accuse her, but they were already divorced, and it seemed there was no suitable reason for the accusation anymore. "Come back to me. Sophia is injured. I'm at your doorstep."
"What?" Cassie's nervous voice came through, "How did she get hurt, and where is Liam?"
"I don't know. Liam is an irresponsible guy. Hurry up and come over; Sophia is crying; she says she wants you." After Joseph finished speaking, he actually had no certainty in his heart. After all, Sophia was not Cassie's daughter.
To his surprise, Cassie immediately said, "Okay, I'll come back now."
After hanging up the phone, Joseph looked down at Sophia beside him. He didn't expect Cassie to care so much about Sophia, treating her like her own daughter.
Meanwhile, after hanging up the phone, Cassie immediately said to Tyler, "I'm Sorry. I have an emergency at home, and I have to leave."
"I'll give you a ride home," Tyler stood up.
"No need, I'll drive back myself."
Cassie hurriedly left, got into the car, and quickly called Liam, "Why is Sophia at Joseph's place again? Do you know she's injured? Liam, even though Sophia is not your biological daughter, she's still your niece. Can't you take it seriously?"
"Is she hurt?" Liam was taken aback, "I'm wrong. Sophia wanted to stay at Joseph's villa and asked me to cooperate with her in playing the role of an irresponsible dad. Isn't it hard for me?"
Cassie had a headache, "What does she want to do?"
"She said she wants to help you teach that wicked stepmother a lesson."
Cassie rubbed her temples, "Okay, I'm sorry for blaming you. Now Joseph has taken Sophia to my place, and I have to rush back."
"It seems like Sophia is quite capable. Bringing Joseph to your place late at night, I guess she wants to matchmake you and Joseph." Liam joked.
"I have no interest in someone like Joseph."
After hanging up the phone, Cassie felt less worried. She guessed that Sophia's injury might not be serious; most likely, it was Sophia creating conflicts again.
At half past nine, she walked out of the elevator, Joseph leaning against the door, Sophia sitting on his shoulder, hands resting on his head, and her phone playing cartoons. The sight of the two figures, one big and one small, slightly stunned her.
When she was pregnant with twins, she had hoped for such a scene. She imagined Joseph being so tall that if she had a daughter in the future, she could sit on his shoulder and play.
Now, she had given up the illusion, but this scene had come true.
However, in a moment, she suddenly came to her senses and instinctively became stern, "Joseph, you let her scroll on the phone?"
Sophia was startled, her hand trembled, and the phone fell from Joseph's head, landing face down on the floor.
There was an eerie silence in the corridor for a moment. Joseph bent down, put Sophia down, picked up the phone, and the entire screen was shattered.
Sophia's eyes showed a bewildered panic, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do it."
"It's okay; it's just a phone. We can buy another one", Joseph gently reassured her.
Sophia's guilty heart gradually calmed down.
Cassie, on the side, looked somewhat surprised. In her memory, Joseph was irritable, indifferent, and mean. She didn't expect to see such a tender side. Could this be the effect of blood ties?
