Chapter 73

"After all, the young girl might impulsively give up on his villa design. David sympathized with Cassie and genuinely wanted to help her.

""Oh."" Cassie regained her composure. ""Let's discuss the blueprint, Mr. Foster.""

David nodded. After all, he wasn't a professional and didn't fully understand intricate blueprints.

Initially, Cassie stood in front of his desk to explain, but her angle wasn't very convenient for looking at the drawings.

David gestured to his right. ""Stand here.""

With his permission, Cassie walked around the desk and stood to his right. She bent down and pointed to a spot. ""I'm worried the bookshelf won't be enough, so I added another row here.""

David looked at her slender finger. Her shoulder maintained a certain distance from his, but a faint and elegant scent wafted from her hair.

Being frequently exposed to strong perfume scents from the women around him, encountering a girl who maintained a natural fragrance was rare. This scent intrigued him slightly.

He discreetly glanced at the girl next to him - her clean-cut black hair, conservative turtleneck sweater, and exquisite facial features. Her eyes were crystal clear.

Although her complexion looked a bit tired, it stirred the protective instinct in him even more.

""Mr. Foster, are you satisfied with this arrangement?"" Cassie's voice suddenly brought him back from his reverie.

""I'm satisfied. It's good.""

David felt slightly disoriented. He couldn't even remember what she had just said.

Cassie, on the other hand, wasn't paying attention to these details.

She spent over twenty minutes going through the blueprint in detail, but she believed there would always be some aspect that David would want to change. After all, designers couldn't meet every single expectation of their clients.

David decided in one fell swoop. ""I am very satisfied. No changes are needed. Let's start the construction according to this plan from tomorrow.""

""So soon? Are you sure?""

""I want to finish the renovation and move in as soon as possible. I'm currently living with a bunch of people at home, who keep urging me to get married, but I don't really like that,"" David remarked jokingly.

""Mr. Foster, are you not married?"" Cassie was surprised.

David raised an eyebrow. ""Why? Do I look like someone who's been married?""

""Not really, but you seem successful in your career, mature, and composed. I thought you were married.""

""I'm not."" He emphasized these words clearly and heavily.

At the same time, he carefully observed Cassie's demeanor, which was calm and seemingly devoid of any thoughts.

He marveled at Arthur's poor judgment of character. This girl was definitely not someone who was vain and narrow-minded.

""Well, I'll go back and communicate with the renovation team. We'll start construction tomorrow."" Cassie shook hands with him before turning to leave.

Shortly after she left, Arthur called David.

""Uncle David, do you really want to recommend your friend's villa to Height Company for renovation?""

""It's because your mom came to bother me early in the morning. You couldn't convince me, so you moved on to her.""

David replied irritably, ""This is the last time. Don't ask me for help with the Brooks family in the future.""

""But Uncle, why do you have such a big grudge against the Brooks family? Actually...""

""Get it straight. It's your Lewis family that married into the Brooks family, not me."" He hung up the phone. Every time he saw Cassie, he felt a bit more disgusted with the Brooks family.

At six o'clock in the afternoon, after Cassie finished work, she went to the clinic to get some cold medicine.

During dinner time, Joseph still hadn't come back, so she finished her meal and took Dakota for a walk in the yard.

When Dakota got tired from walking, he laid on the railing and watched a group of teenagers playing basketball in the community.

A auntie, carrying her own cat, came over and glanced at Dakota. ""Your cat is going to give birth in about a month, right?""
