Chapter 632

The board members erupted in a fit of rage, their voices thundering through the room. "People like you have no business being directors. Leave," they demanded, their faces twisted in anger. The employees, too, turned on Cassie, their accusatory fingers pointing in her direction. "Why did she return?" they questioned, their voices filled with resentment. "Without her, the company flourished under Megan's leadership. I could have received a year-end bonus in the hundreds of thousands."One muttered under his breath, "Such misfortune to have her as a chairman."Another chimed in, "I'd be better off resigning early and seeking employment elsewhere.""If that's the case, I should start making preparations as well," another added. Cassie, rubbing her ears, sighed heavily. "I too feel remorse towards everyone. I didn't anticipate that my return would cause such harm. I'll retreat and contemplate a solution."Edward, his voice cold and devoid of respect, retorted, "Leave, and don't bother returning. Unless, of course, you beg for forgiveness from Joseph and Megan. Then, perhaps, we might consider giving you another chance.""That's impossible. I'd sooner see the company crumble than bow to that despicable pair," Cassie declared defiantly, before exiting amidst a chorus of insults.Once home, Cassie began to brew a pot of coffee. Jan, on the brink of tears, knelt before Cassie, pleading desperately. " Cassie, all our business partners are threatening to sever ties. Please, we need a solution." Cassie stirred her coffee slowly, her voice calm. "There's no need to rush, Jan. I'm offering you an opportunity to rise to great heights."Jan's eyes welled up with tears. "What opportunity? Are you certain it won't end in disaster?" Cassie cast a cold glance in her direction, retrieving a black card from her wallet and tossing it to Jan. "There's a hundred billion dollars on this card. You have two days to buy back all the shares from Peace Group shareholders."Jan nearly collapsed in shock. " Cassie, how do you have so much cash?"

It was incredible. What had Cassie been through in these past three years?"Do you want to seize this opportunity?" Cassie asked.Jan, awestruck, responded, "Yes! The shareholders must be panicking. If someone were to acquire the company, they'd likely sell at a reduced price. 10 billion would be more than sufficient for the acquisition. But Cassie, once the shares are acquired, you'd be the sole shareholder. You'd hold absolute power, but with Joseph blocking the way, Peace Group has little hope for a future. Why waste this money?""Who said there is no future?" Cassie glanced at Jan and said, "I have already been in touch with a construction company. I plan to give the company a complete overhaul. From this point forward, I don't want to hear anyone within the group dare to oppose me."Jan was taken aback. For the first time, he truly realized that Cassie was different.Night fell.In the presidential suite of a hotel, several men gathered around a table, engrossed in a game of cards.Michael tossed a king onto the pile. "I heard that Peace Group shareholders are selling their shares at a low price."Joseph, tapping his fingers coldly on the table, responded, "Selling is their only option. This time, no one can save Cassie."Lucas, lighting a cigarette with a covered hand, asked, "Haven't you felt guilty these past three years? What did she do to make you like this?"Joseph's fingers stiffened momentarily before he responded calmly, " Cassie threatened me with a marriage certificate. She brought this on herself.""Aren't you afraid she will threaten you again? What about Megan then?"
