Chapter 471

Luna found herself in a bewildered state, her father's words echoing in her ears. "Dad, you want me to...?"

"I want you to be the top socialite in New York, envied and adored by all," Atlas declared with an unwavering confidence. "That day will come soon."

The mere thought of such a scene sent a thrill of excitement coursing through Luna's veins.

...

As the clock struck ten in the evening, Cassie returned to her villa after an evening at the movies. The moment she opened the door, she sensed something amiss; the overpowering scent of roses filled the air, and a pair of familiar men's leather shoes were conspicuously placed by the entrance. Her heart fluttered in her chest.

Upon flipping the light switch, she was greeted by the sight of countless red roses arranged into a heart shape in the center of the living room.

Joseph was lounging on the couch, clad in a black tee and matching trousers. His hair was styled in a trendy, tousled fringe that was currently in vogue among celebrities. His chiseled features and strong jawline accentuated his clean-cut and handsome appearance.

Cassie found herself at a loss. Was this really Joseph?

He appeared as though he had just stepped off a college campus, exuding an air of youthful innocence mixed with a dash of roguish charm.

She had always admired male stars who sported this kind of hairstyle.

But in comparison to Joseph, they paled into insignificance.

"Like what you see?" Joseph asked, a smirk playing on his lips as he followed Cassie's unwavering gaze.

It seemed Lucas's guide to charm was paying dividends. No woman could resist a man who was not only good-looking and had a sunny disposition, but also carried a hint of roguish charm. Even though it wasn't his style to play these games, for her, he was willing to endure the inconvenience of a hairdo change.

Cassie studied him for a moment, then furrowed her brows. "What did Joyce Ray do to you? You must be out of your mind to come out looking like that."

"Are you worried about me?" Joseph's mood began to lift. "Seeing you makes me feel a whole lot better."

"You can't be serious. With that childish haircut and filling someone else's house with flowers? If that's not going downhill, I don't know what is."

Cassie wasn't holding back. "Did you get your places mixed up? You should've taken those flowers to Megan Ray's gravesite."

...

So, her idea of 'getting worse' involved changing hairstyles and decorating with flowers.

Joseph was taken aback.

In his thirty years of life, he'd never quite experienced such a direct slap in the face.

"Are you crazy, littering the place with all this stuff? How am I supposed to get rid of it?" Cassie glared at the flowers, which gave her a headache. She had spent an entire day cleaning her new home spotless, and now he had turned it into a disaster.

...

Joseph heard her mumbling, and his face turned as dark as the bottom of a burnt pot.

He had spent an ungodly amount of time arranging those flowers, and now his hands were full of thorns.

"Also, what are you doing here?" Cassie eyed him with displeasure. "How did you get in? Please leave immediately, or I'll call the cops for trespassing."

"Fine, call them. I'll show this to the police." Joseph pulled out a marriage certificate. "We're married now, and I'm entitled to a share of your assets, which means I have the legal right to live here."

Cassie was rendered speechless, almost forgetting he was Madison's most formidable lawyer.
