Chapter 1347 You're Jealous
"And besides, you weren't the one left behind. The moment I woke up from my amnesia and opened my eyes, I saw you in the crowd. Just you. I couldn't help but feel close to you, just wanting you to stay with me. That's because even with my amnesia, I instinctively remembered that I love you."
Joseph finished talking and kissed her deeply again.
Cassie held her breath this time.
Cassie's mind was a mess.
Cassie had to admit she had little resistance when it came to Joseph; otherwise, she wouldn't have gotten back together with him over and over.
In her moment of distraction, Joseph took advantage, kissing her deeply until she was out of breath.
Joseph noticed her breathing pause and stopped for a moment.
Once she caught her breath, he started round two, kissing her even deeper.
In the quiet air, only the sound of their breathing could be heard.
Cassie's whole face was flushed from his kisses, leaving her body weak and powerless.
In her daze, she suddenly realized she had kissed him awkwardly before, but now Joseph's kissing skills were surprisingly on point. She speculated, 'Could it be...'
A flame of anger ignited in her heart, and she suddenly pushed him away.
Joseph, who was deeply into the kiss, was suddenly pushed aside by Cassie, his face full of confusion, exuding an irresistible allure.
"Cassie, what's wrong?" he asked, his voice hoarse.
"Get away from me." Cassie glared at him.
Joseph's heart melted under her glare, and he quickly moved closer to comfort her. "Did I hurt you with my kiss? I'll be gentler next time."
Cassie covered her ears, nearly driven mad by him.
"Joseph, can you shut up and wait until we get out of the car?"
She glared at him, her flushed face a mix of anger and shyness.
"Okay." Joseph stared at her lips, reddened from his kisses, feeling incredibly soft inside.
The driver remained silent and thought, 'The young couple in the backseat finally quieted down. I've been driving for decades, and this is the first time I wish I could go deaf.'
After ten minutes, the driver stopped the car at the mall entrance and awkwardly said, "Ms. Brooks, we've arrived. Do you need me to wait here and take you back later?"
"No need, you can go back," Cassie quickly got out of the car.
She swore she never wanted to ride with this driver again; it was just too embarrassing.
As soon as the driver left, she hurried into the mall.
But before she could get inside, Joseph pulled her into his arms, intertwining their fingers. "You said we'd talk after getting out of the car."
Cassie looked around. They were near the mall entrance, and there were more people around. "What's there to say? Can you stop hugging me?"
"Then let's find a quiet place to talk."
Without waiting for her agreement, Joseph pulled her to the other side of the mall, then propped one hand against the wall, trapping Cassie with his body. "Now, there's no one around. Take your time."
Cassie's eyes darted around for a moment before she looked up and smiled sweetly. "Haven't seen you in a while, your kissing skills have really improved."
Joseph was taken aback, then smirked. "Are you jealous?"
"Nope," Cassie shot back, her face all icy. "But I do have a thing for cleanliness."
Joseph stared at her for a sec, then grinned and gently pinched her cheek. "Relax, I haven't kissed Marigold."
"Who are you trying to fool?" Cassie wasn't buying it.
"Cassie, I have a cleanliness thing too. I usually just hug Marigold. She's the one making moves. She did try to kiss me, but I dodged it. Every time her lips got close, I felt grossed out. At most, she kissed my cheek. Once, she got all handsy during a meal and sat on my lap, touching me. To make her think I was into it, I thought about you giving me a bath, and that's the only reason I felt anything."
Joseph looked at her sincerely, spilling the whole truth.
But this truth made Cassie feel a bit awkward. She thought, 'Could he stop bringing up the bath thing? It makes me feel like a perv.'
But when Cassie heard that Marigold had touched him, she still felt uncomfortable. "Where did she touch you?"
"I'll show you right now." Joseph suddenly grabbed her hand.
Cassie's face instantly turned red, and she tried to pull her hand back. "I don't want to touch you. Let go."
"No, you have to touch it." Joseph tightened his grip.
"Joseph, you're so shameless."
As soon as Cassie finished speaking, she saw him place her hand on his chest.
She fell silent.
"Marigold touched me here," Joseph said, looking at her. "Where did you think she touched?"
"How would I know?" Cassie felt like she was on fire. She thought shyly, 'Oh my god, what was I thinking just now?'
"Cassie, you're such a perv," Joseph said with a mischievous smile.
"You're the perv," Cassie said awkwardly. "You made it sound so ambiguous. Anyway, I don't really believe you. If you didn't kiss her, how did your kissing skills suddenly become so good?"
"Oh, so you think I kissed you really well just now?" Joseph said proudly.
"Joseph, stop changing the subject." Cassie was so angry she looked like an angry kitten.
"Cassie, I'm a grown man now. Some things come naturally. Besides, it's a physical instinct. Look at my fighting skills and some sports; they're still as good as ever."
Joseph pointed to his head. "I may have lost my memory, but I haven't forgotten those."
Cassie looked at him, half-believing.
He lowered his head and kissed her forehead. "Don't worry, I won't kiss anyone else but you."
"Whether you kiss others or not is none of my business. Get away from me."
Cassie pushed him hard, feeling incredibly embarrassed. She thought, 'How could I be so easily swayed by his sweet words? It's only the first day.'
"I'm not leaving." Joseph hugged her tightly. "Let me hold you for a while."
She symbolically pushed him twice but couldn't move him, so she buried her face in his chest.
Forget it, she probably wouldn't have any resistance to him for the rest of her life.
Seeing her stay still, like a little kitten in his arms, Joseph's lips curled up in satisfaction. "Cassie, I just realized that being with the person you like, even just hugging, can make you very happy."
Cassie's eyelashes trembled.
