Chapter 38 Rebid
After finishing eating, Joseph helped her lie down.
Just then, Joseph's phone rang. He took the call and walked out, where Nathaniel was waiting.
"Mr. Hernandez, we've clarified the situation at the club center. During yesterday's bidding, when Olivia from Height Architectural Decoration Company was presenting her work, Ms. Brooks accused her of stealing her design."
"Is that so?" Joseph's eyes darkened.
"At the time, Felix asked Ms. Brooks for evidence. Ms. Brooks said it was on her computer, but later claimed the evidence had been destroyed. She accused Matthew from CZ Decoration Company of doing it but had no proof. In front of everyone, she had a falling out with CZ Decoration Company and was then dragged out of the Architecture Institute."
"Dragged out?"
"Yes." Nathaniel nodded, knowing this was Joseph's usual tone when he was angry.
"What work did Height Architectural Decoration Company present yesterday?"
"I had someone record it." Nathaniel handed over his phone. Joseph took one look, and his face turned icy.
He had seen Cassie's work before; Olivia's was identical.
Joseph now understood why Cassie had been so upset yesterday. She was resentful and angry at him for involving her in such an unfair bidding process.
After a moment, he handed the phone back to Nathaniel. "Felix has done this kind of thing many times over the years. It's time the public knew."
Nathaniel immediately understood. "Got it. Since Felix is being replaced, what about the project with Height Architectural Decoration Company at the center?"
"Of course, it's canceled," Joseph said coldly. "Find out which companies Height Architectural Decoration Company is looking to collaborate with and make things difficult for them."
"Understood. By the way, if there's a re-bid, should the project go to Ms. Brooks? But she's already been fired by CZ Decoration Company."
"Forget the project. She has the design skills but can't handle such a big project," Joseph sneered. "Bring Matthew over."
He returned to the hospital room to find Cassie struggling to get up from the bed. As soon as she saw him, she stopped moving.
"What are you doing?" Joseph's voice was unusually gentle, thinking about how badly she had been bullied today.
Cassie's eyes flickered. "Can you find me a nurse?"
Joseph raised an eyebrow playfully. "Do you need to go to the bathroom?"
Cassie's face blushed instantly.
When Joseph walked over and picked her up, she gasped and instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck. "Put me down."
"Fine, then go by yourself." Seeing her stubbornness, Joseph put her on the ground.
Cassie wobbled and fell directly into his arms, feeling extremely embarrassed. "Joseph."
"You threw yourself at me," Joseph said, amused by her embarrassment.
He quickly picked her up again and walked towards the bathroom.
"I said you could just get a nurse," she said helplessly.
"Do you think a nurse is that easy to find?" Joseph mocked, placing her on the toilet.
The most embarrassing part for Cassie was that she didn't even have the strength to pull down her pants, so Joseph had to help her.
By the time she was back in bed, she was so embarrassed that she curled up entirely under the covers. Joseph found it amusing.
