Chapter 639
Not long after, the car stopped at the entrance of a beachfront villa. "You go back first. I have an appointment to discuss something with someone," Joseph said.
"Why didn't I hear you mention this social engagement earlier?" Megan joked.
"I forgot about it earlier," Joseph replied, lighting a cigarette with a distracted look. "Don't wait up for me tonight. Go to bed early." he added.
Megan bit her lip and reluctantly headed down. Just as she wanted to say a few more words, the only response she got was the exhaust fumes from the car.
She stomped her foot in frustration, feeling that Joseph might be going to see Cassie.
Half an hour later, the sports car parked in front of the bar. Noah had just mentioned wanting to eat foie gras, and this restaurant was his favorite place in Whisperlyn City.
Upon his entrance, a captivating melody suddenly drifted over. Looking towards the center of the bar, Noah saw a young woman sitting on a high stool, singing into the microphone with her head bowed. She wore a pair of loose jeans, one foot resting on the stool, the other lazily tapping the ground in simple black and white canvas shoes, revealing a delicate ankle.
All the spotlights in the bar focused on her profile, the dim lights making her appear like a rose blooming in the dark, exuding a fatal attraction to men. Especially when she casually strummed the guitar in her hands, her allure intensified to the extreme.
Men were drawn to her beauty, while women screamed at her coolness.
Cassie stood up from the high stool, with her fingers strumming the guitar faster, displaying a skill comparable to a professional musician.
A strand of hair playfully slipped from her ear, and as she brushed it back, she revealed a stunning face radiating a brilliant glow, as if thousands of stars were twinkling in her eyes.
Joseph stood frozen in place. At that moment, Cassie seemed to be standing on a concert stage, emitting a radiant glow.
He had never known she could sing so well, even better than some professionals, nor had he known that she could play the guitar or smile so beautifully.
His heart pounded fiercely.
As the song ended, he still felt unsatisfied, as did the mesmerized audience.
"Beauty, your singing is too beautiful. Please sing another song." One audience said.
"Yes, it's even better than those singers at live concerts."
"Beauty, I'm a talent agent from a music company. Would you consider signing up with us?"
"Sorry, I'm just singing for fun. I'm tired. I'll take a break," Cassie said as she stepped down from the stage.
The platform was a bit high, and Billy immediately went over to help her. This scene made Joseph feel so jealous as whispers began to form around him.
"Is that her boyfriend? So envious to have such a beautiful woman."
"Her figure is amazing."
Joseph clenched his teeth and strode over with long strides.
As Cassie sat down and raised her glass, about to take a sip of red wine, a sudden force pulled her back forcefully.
The red wine in the glass spilled all over her white T-shirt, with the wet part clinging tightly to her chest, revealing her impressive and charming figure.
