Chapter 661
Ethan was suddenly frightened.
"I know Vera has evidence of you embezzling public funds, but the money you embezzled belonged to the Leo Group. As long as Leo doesn't pursue it, that evidence is useless."
Sie crouched in front of Ethan. Her tone was gentle but intimidating.
"If you don't cooperate with us, I'll just take you to the police station, investigate the illegal accounts of the company over the years, and then you'll be accused of poisoning and embezzlement. You might never get out. If it's just being incited to poison and no deaths occurred, it's just a two-year sentence. Think about your children and wife."
Ethan's pupils quivered slightly.
Sie added, "Let me remind you, you're in your thirties. If you stay in prison for too long, your wife might take your money and remarry. Then, none of the children will be yours, and all your efforts will have been in vain."
"Alright, I'll help you get the evidence," Ethan agreed and gritted his teeth.
"OK, but you have to take this." Sie took out a pill. "I also need to be cautious. In case you betray me, what should I do? Once the job is done, I will give you the antidote."
Spencer reminded, "This medicine is very poisonous. If there is no antidote within a week, you will die. Of course, doctors can cure it, but it will take a month. You won't make it until then."
Ethan gazed at the beautiful and delicate face of Sie, feeling completely scared at that moment.
"I won't betray. A week is enough for me to gather evidence."
Ethan reluctantly took the pill.
Afterward, Sie accompanied Leo to dinner as if nothing had happened just then.
"Sie, where did you get that pill?" Leo asked with a complex expression. "What have you been through abroad all these years?"
"Dad, I just made some new friends and learned a few more skills, that's all," she said casually.
Leo knew her daughter didn't want to say much, so he didn't ask further. "Sie, the Peace Group you organized is impressive. Would you like to join the Leo Group as the CEO? I believe you are fully capable of it," he said.
"Dad, you're still young, in your fifties. You should manage it yourself. I don't want to handle so many companies; it's exhausting," Sie firmly refused.
"Then why don't you move back in and live with me? It's quite boring living alone," Leo sighed.
"You live too far away. It's not very convenient. You could also go back to the old house to accompany Mr. Chapman and Mrs. Margaret," Sie reminded him. "Actually, they get quite bored in such a big estate."
"OK," Leo was shaken by what she said.
After finishing the meal, Sie was ready to leave. Leo became unhappy again. "You only come once a week, and now you're leaving right after dinner. No way, you should stay until tomorrow."
"Dad, I have something to do tonight. I'll come to accompany you tomorrow."
After Sie left the villa, Spencer took over driving and directly drove her to the hospital.
At 8.00.p.m..
After Joseph finished applying the medicine, he walked out of the andrology department, happened to see Sie coming down the escalator on the other side, holding a piece of paper.
"Sie, stop right there."
Joseph's long-suppressed anger surged up. Ignoring the pain, Joseph strode over and grabbed her, saying, "You're here just in time. I was looking for you."
Her brow furrowed. Was Joseph like a lingering ghost, showing up everywhere? "Are you here for another check-up at the andrology department?"
"Shut up."
The usually refined and dignified Joseph was so angered by her that he directly rebuked her, completely devoid of his previous calm and composed demeanor.
He found that ever since Sie came back, he had been angry every day. He seriously doubted if he could live past forty. "You hurt me this afternoon."
"That's right." Sie glanced meaningfully at Joseph's pants, then gave him a disgusted look and said, "You look tall and strong on the outside, but it turns out that your intimate area is too fragile to bear a hit."
Joseph said angrily, "A hit? You trying to make me absolutely impotent."
