Chapter 1218 Cassie, I Might Saw Isabella Today

'Aiden.' The name popped into Isabella's head instantly.

After finding out about her past with Aiden, she secretly looked him up online without Declan knowing. The guy in the photos looked like the man in front of her, just younger.

"Sorry, I don't know you. You must have me confused with someone else," Isabella said coldly. She'd heard about Aiden and didn't think much of him. She wanted nothing to do with him.

Aiden was taken aback but shook his head. "No way. I'd never forget your face, Isabella. I thought you were dead."

He even grabbed her arm in desperation.

But a bodyguard quickly stepped in, pushing Aiden's hand away and shielding Isabella. "Mrs. Wittelsbach, please get in the car."

Isabella walked straight to the car, with Olivia quickly following, tense. Olivia didn't expect to run into Aiden so soon, but luckily, Aiden had never seen her before.

"Isabella, I know it's you!" Aiden shouted, chasing after them, only to be pushed back by the bodyguard again. Desperate, he yelled, "Isabella, I know you hate me, but don't you remember Cassie? She's your daughter."

Isabella ignored him and got into the car.

The door closed, blocking any view inside.

The bodyguard got in and drove off quickly.

Aiden wanted to chase them, but a traffic cop stopped him. "Sir, watch out for the cars. It's dangerous."

Aiden stood there, feeling like his soul had been sucked out.

Had he been mistaken? But she looked so much like Isabella. Even after twenty years, she still looked like she was in her thirties.

People could look alike, but their demeanor couldn't be faked, right?

He felt like he was dreaming.

In the car, Olivia's heart raced.

Aiden had shouted, "Don't you remember Cassie? She's your daughter."

She almost panicked. Luckily, she had lied that Cassie was pretending to be Isabella and Aiden's daughter. It was also fortunate Isabella hadn't acknowledged Aiden or argued about the daughter issue.

She calmed herself and clenched her fists.

No, she couldn't let Isabella have any doubts.

"Mom, that was my dad just now," Olivia said, pretending to be conflicted.

"I know." Isabella was a bit dizzy but quickly composed herself, showing disdain. "An idiot who can't even recognize his daughter."

She patted Olivia's hand. "Don't worry about him. He doesn't deserve to be your dad."

Olivia nodded, pretending to be understanding. "I used to feel bad, but now I'm over it. As long as I have you, Mom, it's enough. Besides, I don't think Declan would want you to have any contact with him. Declan treats you well and accepts me. I don't want you two to argue. It doesn't matter if Aiden thinks of Cassie as his daughter. I'll get revenge on Cassie. I don't need his repentance or apology; it would only complicate things."

Isabella nodded, realizing she should steer clear of Aiden to avoid any conflicts with Declan.

After a moment, she told the bodyguard, "Don't mention today's incident to Declan."

"Understood," the bodyguard replied.

Olivia chimed in, "Mom, you don't want to acknowledge Aiden, but won't he come looking for you? He still seems to have feelings for you and has some influence in Whisperlyn City. If he investigates, it could cause trouble. He might even show up in front of Declan. Maybe we should delete the surveillance footage from the roadside and the mall."

Thinking of how jealous Declan could get, Isabella agreed and instructed the bodyguard to delete all relevant footage from the mall.

Meanwhile, Aiden got into his car, dazed. The driver glanced at him nervously. "Do you still want to inspect the new warehouse?"

"No." Aiden snapped back to reality and called Cassie, "Where are you?"

"Dad, I'm at the Peace Group."

"Come home tonight. We need to talk," Aiden said before hanging up.

Cassie hadn't heard Aiden's serious tone in a long time. She didn't delay and went home as soon as she finished work.

In the spacious living room, Aiden sat on the sofa, holding a photo. He was so focused on it that he didn't notice her return.

Cassie walked over and saw it was a photo of a young Aiden and Isabella, hugging sweetly on a grassland.

"Dad, I didn't know you had a photo with my mom," Cassie teased with a smile, "I've never seen you take it out before."

"I always kept it in the safe. It was taken when your mom was twenty, during a trip to the grassland," Aiden said, touching Isabella's face in the photo, "She looks so much like her."

"Dad, what do you mean? I don't understand," Cassie said, noticing Aiden's red eyes.

"Cassie, I think I saw your mom today, but she didn't acknowledge me," Aiden suddenly said.

Cassie was stunned. "Didn't my mom die a long time ago?"

"Yes, I always thought she was dead," Aiden said excitedly, "But that person looked so much like your mom—her eyes, her nose, her lips. I can't be wrong. Your mom encountered a typhoon back then, but the Brooks family never found her body."

Cassie's heart trembled slightly.

Indeed, the Brooks family had never found Isabella's body. Without a body, Isabella might be alive.

She quickly asked, "Dad, what did you say to her?"

"I was very excited and asked if she was Isabella, but she acted like she didn't know me and said I had mistaken her for someone else. Then a bodyguard came and pushed me away," Aiden said bitterly, "It's been more than twenty years. I was afraid I was confused, so I took out your mom's photo. The more I look at it, the more she looks like her, just older and more mature."

Cassie couldn't contain her excitement. Although she had never met Isabella, Isabella had founded the Peace Group.

Isabella was the woman she admired the most.
