Chapter 305

""Does this mean we have a match where both hearts are willing?"" Celeste smiled. ""Since we're all here, why don't we make it official and have a ceremony?""

""That's exactly what I was thinking,"" Grandma agreed, then turned to the butler. ""Fetch my bracelet, please.""
Yvonne couldn't help but feel envious as she asked, ""Is it that heirloom bracelet?""

""Yeah, Joseph is the heir to the Hernandez family, so naturally, the bracelet should go to his future wife,"" Mildred said with a smile.

Cassie looked down, a trace of bitterness flickering in her eyes.

Excitement was practically bubbling over for Luna and her mother, who had taken several deep breaths to compose themselves.

Soon, the bracelet was brought over, and Mildred called Luna to come closer. As Mildred lifted her hand to slip on the bracelet, footsteps were suddenly heard from outside.

Everyone looked up to see Joseph walking in, dressed in a fine gray suit paired with a silk jacquard tie and sporting a subtle yet luxurious wristwatch. He was like a spotlight moving through the room, embodying a rare mix of elegance and sophistication.

""What's going on here?""

Joseph's eyes quickly scanned the room, noticing the Chapman family among the others, pausing subtly on Cassie for a moment before settling on the bracelet in Grandma's hands.

Celeste smiled, ""Grandma was thinking of passing down the family bracelet to your future wife.""

Joseph's sharp eyebrows raised slightly as he strode over and carefully took the bracelet from Grandma's hands.

""Be careful with it; don't drop it,"" Mildred warned.

Juliette chuckled, ""Grandma, it seems like Big Brother wants to put the bracelet on Luna personally.""

""True, it's more meaningful when the fiancé does it,"" Celeste teased.

Luna's face flushed with nervousness as she timidly looked down.

Cassie turned her face away, pretending to be engrossed in her phone.

With a smile, Joseph glanced at Luna and then placed the bracelet back in its box. ""Since it's an heirloom, we should keep it safe. It can wait until my wedding day. After all, nobody knows when that will be or if the bride might change.""

His voice, smooth like a cello, was unexpectedly gentle, but an eerie silence fell over the room once he finished.

Vera and her daughter were too shocked to react. They didn't know what to say.

Tears welled up in Luna’s eyes.

Mildred, frowning, took Luna's hand firmly and shot Joseph a stern look. ""Change? Who else do you have in mind? You chose her yourself, and everyone knows Luna is your girlfriend. Did you think about how she would feel when you said such things? Let me tell you, I've made up my mind about my granddaughter-in-law, and it's her.""

Joseph casually picked an orange and began peeling it as if he hadn't heard anything.

While everyone's attention was on him, Cassie was the only one playing with her phone the entire time.
""Joseph, did you hear what Grandma said?"" Celeste reminded him, ""Luna is a good girl; don't take her for granted.""

Vera spat spitefully, ""If you don't fancy our Luna, just say it. Don't fool her. Luna is a cherished jewel of our family.""

""Did you expect me to propose to her today?"" Joseph casually tossed his orange peel onto the table. His dark eyes were inscrutable. ""People date for at least six months to a year before getting married. I've only known her for a few days, and here I feel pressured. Are Leo's daughters that special? I should've known better than to mess with her.""
