Chapter 1773 Complete Breakup
Lucas locked eyes with Bernice.
Bernice's gaze was steady and deep, not a hint of fear.
No woman had ever dared to look him in the eye like this, without fear, even daring to provoke him.
Lucas suddenly remembered Bernice from a few days ago, his eyes narrowing with a complex expression. "Bernice, you weren't like this before. Who gave you the confidence?"
"Naturally, the confidence that my subordinates have already left Madison," Bernice said honestly, no longer hiding anything.
During that time, she had been dealing with him with false pretenses, feeling utterly disgusted.
Lucas stared at her for a long time, finally realizing.
"So that's how it is."
Lucas let out a low, hoarse laugh. "I didn't expect it, I really didn't. I misjudged you."
No wonder she had changed so suddenly during that time, unlike her usual self. He had thought she was using a strategy of playing hard to get, but later her true nature was revealed.
And during that time, her submissive behavior had made him lose interest. It turned out she had been acting all along.
"You're quite the actress, really good at pretending," Lucas pointed at her, his eyes like a viper's. "Bernice, you're the first person who dared to play me."
"Do you think that because I dared to play you, you have a bit of interest in me again?" Bernice mocked, curling her lips. "To you, women are probably just playthings. When you can't have them, they pique your interest. Once you have them, they become trash."
"You know me well," Lucas sneered.
"So Nina was the same to you, wasn't she?" Bernice suddenly said.
The name made Lucas's body tense up, and he stared at her coldly.
But Bernice wasn't afraid at all. "Isn't that right? When you were with her, you treated her exceptionally well, fulfilling her every wish, making her love you deeply. But when she couldn't live without you, you ruthlessly kicked her away. From beginning to end, you were just playing with her. Nina probably meant less to you than a Megan."
"Who told you this?" Lucas's brows furrowed coldly. "Cassie? Laura?"
"Of course not. I've been corresponding with Nina."
Bernice walked up to him, looking down at him from above. "Lucas, do you know what I think about every time you force me to have sex with you? I feel disgusted, like throwing up. You deceived my good friend Nina into having sex, played with her feelings, and even caused her death. You have no conscience at all, and you even forced Nina's friend to have sex with you. Why don't you just die?"
"Bernice, do you want to die?"
The bodyguard nearby was shocked and rushed forward to grab her arm.
"Keep talking," Lucas glared at Bernice.
Bernice took out a bottle of pills from her bag. "Do you know what this is? It's something that makes me cooperate with you in bed. Are you surprised by my change? Because I have to take this every time before having sex with you. I can't stand you. You always act like you're great in bed, but it's laughable. You treat me like a sex toy and look down on me. Do you think I respect you?"
The atmosphere around them turned icy cold.
The bodyguards nearby were all trembling.
They had never seen Lucas so furious, on the verge of exploding.Bernice didn't back down. "You know what, Lucas? You're disgusting. Ever since I got involved with you, I've been getting checked out every week, scared of catching something. You're rich, handsome, and powerful, but you treat women like dirt. Where do you get off thinking any self-respecting woman would be into you? You only attract the worst kind."
She tossed the pills at him with a sneer. "Stop obsessing over sex. You're terrible at it, and your personality is even worse. Mr. Nelson, maybe you should work on your manners while you're busy making money."
"Bernice, you're asking for it."
Lucas grabbed the pills that hit his chest and stood up from the lounge chair, rage overriding the pain in his foot.
"Mr. Nelson," the bodyguard warned, shocked.
But Lucas was beyond reason, stepping forward and grabbing Bernice's neck, looking like he wanted to strangle her.
He was thirty years old.
Lucas had never met anyone who dared to mock and sneer at him like Bernice.
She had hit him where it hurt the most: his sexual prowess, his dignity, and Nina.
Bernice had crossed all his lines.
If he didn't kill her today, he wouldn't be Lucas.
Bernice was almost suffocated by his grip.
But she had already faced death once, and even now, she remained absolutely calm.
She stomped hard on Lucas's injured foot, twisting it.
Lucas's face turned pale instantly.
Bernice took the opportunity to push him away, and Lucas, caught off guard, fell awkwardly onto the grass.
"Mr. Nelson," the bodyguards were really scared, two of them helping Lucas up while the other two restrained Bernice.
Bernice took out pepper spray and sprayed it into the eyes of the two bodyguards.
"Shit, what is this?" The two bodyguards couldn't open their eyes.
Bernice seized the chance to run towards the gate.
"Catch her, catch her for me," Lucas roared. "I must kill her today."
The bodyguards and security guards in the villa received the message and all moved in, blocking the gate tightly. Bernice had no choice but to run towards the corner of the wall.
The high wall was six feet tall.
As the bodyguards surrounded her, Bernice quickly climbed up the wall and soon disappeared from the yard.
The bodyguards were dumbfounded.
Lucas was furious. "Why aren't you chasing her? You idiots, what's the use of you if you can't even catch a woman?"
The bodyguards hurriedly chased after her.
Bernice ran frantically. This was Snowford Evergreen, where there were few vehicles except for those who lived there.
She ran over thirty feet when a black SUV stopped in front of her.
Milan jumped out, quickly supporting her. "What's going on?"
"Someone's chasing me."
Seeing him, Bernice instinctively relaxed.
Milan looked up and saw Lucas's bodyguards approaching.
His face turned cold, and he pulled out a gun from his waist, aiming at them.
The Nelson family's bodyguards immediately froze, not daring to move.
"Milan, let me remind you, you climbed up from the bottom to get to where you are today."
Lucas was pushed over in a wheelchair. Seeing Bernice being protected by Milan, Lucas's handsome face was full of anger. "Think carefully, is it worth going against the Nelson family for someone you've known for just a few days?"
