Chapter 1700 Car Accident
Julia glanced at him, "I'm not living there now."
Garth's smile froze, "Did you move back to Whispering Pines Manor?"
"No."
After replying, Julia didn't say more and turned to go inside to say goodbye to Uriah, "I'm heading back, I'll visit again next time."
"It's raining heavily, let Garth take you," Uriah said with a smile as he stood up.
"No need, we're going in different directions," Julia nodded politely, took the umbrella handed by the servant, and left.
Uriah watched Julia get into the car with a smile before turning to look at Garth, who had a stern expression, "You still haven't talked to Julia? How long are you two going to drag this out? You're not getting any younger. I checked with James the other day, and they support you two being together. Our families have known each other for so long, after all."
"Julia seems to have a boyfriend."
Garth clenched his fists, his expression complicated.
"Who?" Uriah was surprised, "I haven't heard James mention it. Are you sure you're not mistaken?"
Garth's eyes darkened, "Not sure, but she hinted at it."
Uriah pondered, "That can't be. None of those other board members' sons or grandsons can compare to you. Julia wouldn't be interested in them. Besides, she doesn't even pay attention to those young men from the entertainment industry who try to get close to her at social events."
"Yeah, she doesn't even look at those handsome young men, and she ignores my hints too." Garth suddenly said, "Dad, do you think she still has feelings for Orval? Even though Orval was seriously ill back then, he was indeed handsome. Look, he's been dead for so many years, and the Morris family has been declining, but Julia still secretly takes care of them and even got Orval's sister a job at the Jude family."
Uriah gave him a deep look, "Hard to say, but Orval has been dead for many years. You need to work hard. If you can marry Julia, it would be very beneficial for the Tovar Manor. As her husband, she will inevitably rely on you, especially when she's pregnant. Women always have many inconveniences then, and you can help manage the Jude family. Also, if you have a child, the Jude Group will be inherited by my grandson."
Garth's eyes flickered, "Dad, didn't Eric arrange a will? The Jude family is supposed to go to Aaron's son."
"Aaron, that incompetent person?"
Uriah shook his head, "He's only interested in romance, not a threat at all. Besides, if Julia has children in the future, do you think she would really hand the Jude family over to Aaron's son? Don't be naive. If she were that soft-hearted, she wouldn't have taken that position from Michael. Eric knew this too, which is why he made that will, at least to ensure his descendants wouldn't be too disadvantaged. But no matter how well Julia does, she's still a woman."
He gave Garth a meaningful look, "Why do you think I was the first to help her back then? One reason was that I saw the tide turning, and the other was for you. No matter what, she owes the Tovar Manor a favor. Invite her over for dinner often when you have the chance."
"Dad, I'll need your help with this."
Garth said ingratiatingly.
"No rush. You said there's a man around her, so let's first find out if he exists."
In the apartment.
The clock on the wall pointed to 10 PM.
Elliott came out after taking a shower and received another call from Julia, "My car had a minor collision with someone, I'll be back a bit late."
"How can you get into a collision just driving? How do you drive?" Elliott's face darkened.
"Alright, I haven't finished dealing with it here, I'll hang up first."
Julia wasn't in a good mood either.
"Which road are you on?" Elliott suddenly asked.
"Maple Avenue."
"I'm coming over."
Elliott's cold voice came through. Julia, standing by the roadside with an umbrella, was stunned for a moment but was soon brought back to reality by the shouting Elliott beside her.
"You, a woman driving a Bentley, why are you arguing with me, someone driving a Santana? Look at what you've done to my car. It's raining so heavily, just give me $20,000, and we'll call it even. Don't block the road and waste everyone's time."
The young man who had collided with her car, with tattoos on his neck, was speaking.
"I've already called the police." The rain was too heavy outside, and Julia didn't want to argue with him. She opened her car door to get in.
"What's your problem?" The young man impatiently grabbed her, "It's so late, who knows how long the police will take to get here. I'm in a hurry to get some late-night snacks. You don't lack the money. Besides, it was your fault for driving so fast. See, you rear-ended me."
"I was driving fine, and you suddenly sped up in front of me. I'm innocent too."
Julia said calmly, "Let's not argue, let the police handle it."
"Fuck, you rich people are so stingy."
The young man cursed. There were quite a few cars blocked there, and many drivers were looking out. The man started shouting, "Everyone, look, the Bentley driver hit me and won't compensate."
"Hey, Bentley driver, can you just pay up? You drive a car worth millions, you're not short on money. It's late, and you're blocking the whole road." A passing driver shouted.
Someone even started recording a video, trying to get some attention, "Look at Maple Avenue, a Bentley hit a Santana and won't compensate."
Julia grabbed the person's phone and warned, "If you spread rumors online before the police investigation results come out, I can sue you for defamation."
"I'm so scared. Can you rich people shut everyone's mouths?" The person started shouting.
"Before you make any decisions, take a good look at my car. If I can afford a car worth millions, I can afford a lawyer."
Julia didn't want to argue with these people and got back into her car, locking the door.
Five minutes later, the driver who caused the accident called a bunch of friends over.
Julia didn't go out; she wasn't stupid enough to confront them head-on.
Soon, the police and insurance company arrived. Laura put on a mask and got out of the car.
The driver who caused the accident started complaining to the police, "I turned on my signal early, she was driving too fast. Look at what she did to my car."
"My friend's car will cost tens of thousands to fix, and he doesn't have insurance. If this woman doesn't compensate, my friend says he'll lie on the road and let the cars run over him."
