Chapter 721
"Did you notice it too?" Mabel sighed, "Liam, what do you think of your dad?"
Liam didn't know what to say and ended up staying silent.
Three years ago, when photos of Joseph with mental illness surfaced, everyone doubted him, but only he knew he was normal.
After finding out that the news leaked from Chamberlain's family, he roughly guessed it was Marcus who did it. Marcus appeared gentlemanly, but appearances can be deceiving.
Unfortunately, no matter how much he asked, Marcus would never give him a straight answer.
Things had been going poorly for him at Hernandez's over the years, but Marcus never offered to help him. Liam spent more time with Felix than with Marcus.
Every time he visited Chamberlain's family, they were nice to him at face value. But when a new project came up that he saw potential in and wanted to invest in, they started dodging him, saying the project had been handed off to someone else because it wasn't profitable.
Only later did he find out that the project hadn't been outsourced at all; instead, it was given to another distant relative for investment.
When he was younger, during Christmas visits to Chamberlain's family, he distinctly saw his grandmother with a candy he liked in her pocket. When he asked for it, she claimed it was gone, only to give it to Felix later sneakily.
Even though he was her grandson, too.
In the end, he thought it might be because of his Hernandez surname.
So, over the years, despite Chamberlain's family becoming the second-largest family in Madison, he never got too close to them.
"Mom, am I really Marcus's biological son?" he suddenly asked.
Mabel paused for a moment, then her face darkened as she said, "You are not Marcus's biological son, then whose are you? Did I pick you up from outside?"
"I didn't mean that, forget it. I was just saying."
After saying this, Liam walked away.
Mabel, however, felt puzzled and couldn't help but recall some past events. The day she got pregnant with Liam was shortly after her divorce from Cameron. She wasn't in a good mood at the time, had a few shots, and later, Marcus took her home, and they ended up having a sexual encounter.
Hernandez's group.
Just after Joseph finished a meeting, he picked up his phone and saw four missed calls from Matilda.
He called her back, and Matilda scolded, "Are you with Megan again, ignoring my calls?"
"I'm in a meeting," Joseph explained helplessly.
"Alright, come to the mansion after work. We're having a party tonight at the mansion. Did your mom tell you?"
"Do you think she would call me?"
"Okay," Matilda chuckled, "So, it turns out Liam has a daughter. I had no clue until today when I caught a glimpse of her. She is adorable. Tonight, I plan to invite all the Hernandez family members over for a party for the little one. You better be there, and don't forget to bring some gifts and money."
"Liam has a daughter?" Joseph rubbed his forehead, feeling relieved.
If Liam already had a daughter, Cassie definitely wouldn't push him anymore.
"She used to be an illegitimate daughter, but not anymore. She's the Hernandez family's little princess now, and she's the youngest princess."
Matilda added, "Oh, by the way, Sophia is over two years old, not yet three. When you buy gifts, make sure they suit her age group. Also, I'll let you know, I used the room originally prepared for the twins for Sophia, but you don't need it now anyway."
After that, Grandma hung up the phone.
Joseph, however, remained silent, holding the receiver.
She's a little over two years old. If Cassie's child had survived back then, they would have been around the same age now.
