Chapter 993 Cassie, How Dare You Hit Me
In the bathroom, Michael was enraged. Yet, he couldn't refute her.
He said to himself inwardly, 'Forget it. It's better than letting her know I am... in her bathroom.'
A few minutes later, he came out of the bathroom with a flushed face, only to see Laura looking at him with disgust, covering her nose.
"Laura, stop pretending. You're actually quite pleased, aren't you?" Michael felt more embarrassed than ever before. "Did you know I was coming and deliberately undress to seduce me?"
"Are you crazy?" Laura was almost crazy. "This is my room. You barged in without knocking and saw me naked. I didn't even hold you accountable, and now you're turning the tables on me."
"Don't think I don't know your intentions towards me." Michael sneered. "What did you say to Megan last night? You like me, want to seduce me and ruin my relationship with Megan. You're too scheming."
"I like you?" Laura's pupils almost popped out.
"You know very well what you said to Megan last night. Don't you remember?" Michael coldly reminded her.
Laura gasped, thinking, 'Well, Megan is indeed right about Cassie.'
"I was deliberately provoking Megan. I hate her for hurting Cassie before," Laura explained.
"Enough. Hasn't Megan suffered enough because of Cassie?" Michael roared, cutting her off.
"I don't want to argue with you. Get out." Laura, afraid of getting too angry and causing a miscarriage, turned to leave.
"Stop right there." Michael caught up to her. "You need to go to the hospital with me."
"Why go to the hospital?" Laura asked.
"For an abortion." Michael had made up his mind. If Laura were a kind and well-behaved person, he wouldn't mind letting her have the baby. But after last night, he had seen through Laura's deceit. He wouldn't get entangled with her anymore.
Laura cursed him. She had thought he was responsible and would be a good father, but now he was cold and heartless, making her feel chilled.
"Come on. You're going with me." Michael grabbed her wrist.
"Let go of me. I'm not going." Laura struggled. It wasn't that she particularly wanted to keep the baby, but why should she abort it just because he said so?
"Sure enough. You were lying when you said you'd convince your family to abort the baby. You just want to keep it to marry me, right?" Michael didn't let go but used his other hand to grab her forcefully.
"Michael, let go of me." Laura pushed him hard, but standing on the wooden stairs, she slipped and fell to the ground.
"Laura." Cassie, who had just entered, saw Laura rolling down the stairs to the first floor.
She rushed over and saw Laura clutching her stomach, her face contorted in pain.
"Cassie, it hurts so much," Laura said.
"Call an ambulance quickly," Cassie ordered Janice.
Janice hurriedly found her phone and called an ambulance.
At this moment, Michael came to his senses. He hadn't expected her to fall.
He didn't push her; he didn't mean to do it.
"I'll carry her." Michael rushed down, wanting to pick Laura up.
However, Cassie pushed his hand away, glaring at him with fiery eyes. "Get lost. You're so eager to kill your own child. Who knows if you'll deliberately make her lose the baby while carrying her?"
"Cassie, what are you saying? Am I that vicious? She's bleeding." Michael's mind went blank.
Laura looked down and turned pale. "Cassie, it hurts so much."
"Don't move. Janice, help me carry her down," Cassie quickly said to Janice.
Janice, who had heard Michael shouting about making Laura abort earlier, didn't dare let him help.
Janice and Cassie carried Laura down the elevator, and the ambulance soon arrived, taking her to the hospital.
On the way, Laura was sweating profusely from the pain.
At the hospital, she was taken directly to the emergency room.
Cassie immediately called the Jude family, "James, Michael pushed Laura down the stairs. Please come over right away. The Jude family needs to give an explanation for this."
Michael panicked upon hearing this. "What are you talking about? I didn't push her. She fell on her own."
Before he could finish, Cassie slapped him hard.
"Cassie, how dare you hit me." Michael angrily swung back at her.
But Cassie quickly dodged and threw him to the hospital floor with a shoulder throw.
"It hurts." Michael felt like his back was about to break.
"You think that hurts? It's nothing compared to Laura's pain." Cassie glared at him furiously. "Michael, even if you don't love Laura, she's carrying your child. You can love Megan, but you can't be so heartless."
"I really didn't push her. She slipped on her own." Michael was full of regret.
Cassie sneered. "So you're not admitting any fault? If you hadn't been pulling her on the stairs for an abortion, would she have slipped?"
Michael's handsome face turned pale.
Until the doctor came out. "The patient's endometrium is damaged, and the baby is in danger, but it can barely be saved."
Michael was stunned. "This baby doesn't need to be kept, right?"
"Shut up." Cassie glared sharply at him.
"The baby will be kept." Suddenly, James and Caroline rushed over.
"Doctor, this is my grandchild. No matter what, it must be saved," Caroline said urgently.
The doctor said, "Actually, I wasn't finished my words. If the baby is aborted, the patient will need a curettage, which will further harm her body and make it difficult for her to conceive in the future."
Cassie was shocked. It seemed fate wanted Laura to keep this baby. "Then keep it."
She thought Laura wouldn't want to lose the chance to be a mother.
"Alright, please sign here." The doctor handed over a pen, and Cassie signed.
Michael was bewildered. "How could this be? Did Laura bribe the doctor?"
Hearing this, Cassie was furious. She wanted to hit him, but James was faster and harsher.
A man's slap was nothing like a woman's.
Michael's mouth started bleeding, and he looked at James in disbelief. "Dad."
"Get out." James pointed outside, trembling with rage. "Get out. From now on, you have nothing to do with the Jude family. Laura and this child have nothing to do with you, either. You can be with Megan, and no one will interfere with you."
