Chapter 19 How about we grab a meal together?
Olivia and Charlotte's faces turned sour.
Cassie and Laura, standing nearby, were full of admiration. His words were sharp and precise.
After a long pause, Charlotte grimly said, "It seems Mr. Collins is determined to protect them tonight. Sarah and Olivia, let's go find another place to eat."
Olivia didn't want to stay any longer either and pulled Sarah to leave.
"Wait," Joseph suddenly spoke.
Joseph smirked and raised an eyebrow. "You can leave, but you'll be dragged out just like they were."
Cassie was stunned, looking at Joseph with mixed emotions.
She thought, 'Why do I suddenly find him manly?'
Olivia and the others were visibly unsettled.
Charlotte retorted, "Who do you think you are? Do you know who we are?"
Joseph glanced at Noah, his expression unchanged.
Noah, smiling, looked at the nearby waiters. "Should I call your boss? Whoever drags the hardest gets a reward."
Everyone in the restaurant knew Noah. Even their boss treated him with respect.
The waiters immediately rushed forward, dragging Olivia and the others out with increasing force.
They had dressed up meticulously, but soon, they were in a sorry state.
Cassie and Laura watched in shock.
It wasn't until the manager begged for mercy that Cassie and Laura snapped out of it.
Cassie wasn't going to forgive him. "Don't worry. I'll personally complain to your boss."
Noah laughed. "No need. I'll make a call and have him fired."
The manager collapsed to the ground in despair.
Laura felt immensely satisfied. She noticed Cassie standing dumbfounded next to Joseph and had an idea. She bumped into Cassie hard with her shoulder.
Cassie, lost in thought, was caught off guard and stumbled directly into Joseph's arms.
A faint, gentle scent filled her nose. She hadn't expected Joseph to smell so good or to be so different from his usual demeanor.
Feeling Joseph's gaze, she hurriedly scrambled out of his arms. "Sorry, I didn't mean to."
"No need to explain. It's not the first time you've done something like this," Joseph said, implying something.
Cassie fell silent, thinking, 'Did I do something like this before?'
Feeling wronged, she glared at Laura, only to see Laura and Noah looking at her with gossiping eyes.
Noah cleared his throat. "It's fate that we met. How about we have a meal together?"
Laura's eyes lit up. "Sure. I also want to thank you for your help."
"Let's go," Noah said, leading the way inside.
Cassie was bewildered.
Hesitating, she saw Joseph walking straight inside with one hand in his pocket.
She quickly followed, wanting to ask about Dakota's situation. She had been worried since leaving abruptly yesterday.
The waiter led them to a private room.
Laura excitedly whispered in her ear, "This is the most luxurious private room in the restaurant. Even my dad couldn't book it last time. Only people worth over a billion dollars can book this room."
The understated luxury of the private room took her breath away.
Laura, jealous, pinched her waist. "Actually, Joseph isn't bad. You hurt his beloved cat, and he only kicked you out in the middle of the night. Look, he just helped you without holding a grudge. He's so cool."
Cassie scoffed, "Who was the one cursing him before?"
