Chapter 1327 Tonight, I must take the child out.
"David's a total creep! A straight-up demon! He said the higher my status, the more he gets off on stomping and humiliating me. He called you all idiots, saying you're just his puppets. He’s convinced he’ll be the richest guy on the planet and make the Wittelsbach family and Emerald Haven Island bow down to him."
Everett started shaking like a leaf. He'd never been humiliated like this before. If he didn’t have such strong endurance, he wouldn’t have made it this far.
Isabella's eyes went wide with shock. This was her son. She'd been strict with Everett growing up, but the worst she ever did was slap his hand when he was naughty. Now he was hurt like this. Isabella almost couldn’t handle it.
All these years, she thought she had everything under control. Suddenly, she realized how foolish she’d been! She couldn’t even protect her own kids and had become an accomplice in hurting them. Right then, Isabella wished she could kill Robert, David, and everyone involved!
"Isabella, call your people," Declan said, gripping her shoulders tightly. "But don’t tip them off yet. David’s making his move tonight. If he finds out his overseas business is in trouble, he’ll delay his plan and escape. The Jude family needs solid proof of David’s rebellion."
"Okay, I’ll call overseas right now." Isabella pulled out her phone with shaking hands and called her most loyal secretary abroad. "Contact all countries and issue a directive to cancel cooperation with the Wit Group. Do it secretly and don’t let it leak before tonight."
After hanging up, her mind was still blank. After a long pause, she looked at Declan, dazed, and asked in a trembling voice, "Is Cassie really my biological daughter?"
Declan nodded, "While you were in the hospital, I took her kid’s hair and your hair back to Neya City for a DNA test. You’re definitely within three generations of a grandparent-grandchild relationship, so Cassie is definitely your daughter. Plus, Aiden did a DNA test when he brought her back into the Chapman family. When I first saw her, it was like seeing a younger version of you. But she’s related to you by blood. How could I have any inappropriate thoughts about her? I only love you."
"Exactly," Everett chimed in, "Dad’s feelings for you are well-known. Unless you were gone, it’d be normal for him to find a look-alike. But you’re here, so how could he fall for someone else?"
"I’m sorry!" Isabella’s eyes were red as she cried uncontrollably, "I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I have so many hallucinations in my head. I feel like I’ve aged, and you seem to disdain me, falling for a younger girl. I even hurt her. How could I have such disgusting thoughts? She’s my daughter." After shouting, she blacked out and fainted.
"Mom!" Everett was startled.
Isabella’s assistant quickly said, "Madam’s been having headaches these past few days. I wanted her to go to the hospital, but she refused."
"You take her to the hospital. Everett and I can’t show our faces right now. David’s people are watching us from the shadows. We can’t let David know Isabella’s found out the truth." Declan painfully pushed Isabella into her assistant’s arms.
A bunch of bodyguards hustled Isabella to the hospital.
Everett was pacing, all worked up. "Dad, I gotta make David wish he was never born. Mom used to be so strong, and now look at her, all messed up."
"Yeah," Declan's eyes were dark with rage.
Over at the Chapman family villa.
In the bedroom, Cassie was stuffing clothes into a suitcase. Sophia was swinging her legs nearby. "Mommy, why are you packing? Are we going on a trip?"
Oliver, standing nearby, shot her a cold look. "Must be nice to have such a simple mind."
"I feel like you're insulting me," Sophia said, hands on her hips.
"Nope, you're just overthinking it," Oliver replied coolly, turning away.
"Ms. Brooks, Mr. Hernandez is here."
A knock came from outside.
Before Cassie could get up, Oliver and Sophia had already bolted out.
Downstairs, Joseph stood in the living room, looking sharp in a high-end maroon suit, not a wrinkle in sight. Hands in his pockets, he exuded coldness, stability, and nobility.
Oliver ran down the stairs, glaring at him. "What are you doing here?"
Sophia stood beside Oliver, arms crossed. "I'm not going back with you. But if you're here to give us candy, you can leave it and go."
Oliver stayed silent.
Who was it that said they never wanted to eat candy again after being kidnapped last time?
Looking at the two kids, Joseph felt a warmth inside.
Footsteps echoed from upstairs. He looked up to see Cassie coming down in a pink loungewear set. Her long black hair casually draped over her shoulder. Her beautiful face didn't look like she had ever had kids.
"Mr. Hernandez, what do you want?" she asked coldly.
They were close, but it felt like miles apart.
Joseph felt a dull ache in his heart. He told himself it would all be over soon. "Cassie, I want to take the kids out tonight."
"You can't!"
Cassie's expression changed. She planned to leave with the kids tonight. How could she let him take them?
"Cassie, they're my kids too. As their father, don't I have the right to take them out?" Joseph pleaded.
"If you really wanted to be a dad, why are you only showing up now?" Cassie slowly descended the stairs, locking eyes with him. "Joseph, maybe you haven't regained your memory, but you know the kids are yours. Ask yourself, have you visited them or spent time with them these past days?"
"Exactly, you haven't been a father at all," Oliver said angrily.
Joseph looked guilty. "Cassie, I have to take the kids out tonight."
"Where do you want to take them?" Cassie wasn't a fool. She seemed to catch on quickly, but it only made her angrier. "Today is Ralph's birthday. Don't tell me you want to take the kids to his party."
Joseph murmured a low "hm," and Cassie slapped him in anger.
"Joseph! Listen! I don't care why you're getting close to Marigold, but I can't let the kids be in any danger. I won't let the kids go whether you're trying to please the Dixon family or for some other reason," Cassie said, trembling with anger.
