Chapter 867
"Get up," Joseph said, clenching his fists.
nbsp;
"I won't," Michael replied, gritting his teeth, his eyes filled with pleading. "Joseph, the doctor woke Megan up, but if she doesn't have hope, what about tomorrow, the day after tomorrow? If it wasn't for Megan encouraging you in the psychiatric hospital, you might have given up long ago. She studied psychology for you. Three years ago, if it weren't for her, you would have gone crazy. Why can't you show a little mercy to Megan? Why be so cruel?"
nbsp;
Joseph was very angry and frustrated. He turned and walked directly out of the ward.
nbsp;
Michael grabbed Joseph's leg nbsp;and pleaded, "Joseph, I beg you. If you don't agree, I'll kneel here forever."
nbsp;
"Michael, a true friend shouldn't force me like this," nbsp;Joseph retorted.
nbsp;
He nbsp;shook off Michael's hand and walked out.
nbsp;
"Michael, get up," Lucas sighed. "I understand you want Megan to be happy, but you can't force that happiness onto others. Joseph carries the guilt and a life debt to Megan. He has a lot of pressure too."
nbsp;
Lucas finished speaking and walked out.
nbsp;
In the corridor, Joseph lit a cigarette and said, "Sometimes, I think it would have been better if Megan hadn't saved me three years ago."
nbsp;
"Joseph, don't put too much pressure on yourself. You haven't done anything wrong," Lucas patted Joseph's shoulder nbsp;and mentioned, "I feel you. You forced yourself to marry Megan before, but you weren't happy."
nbsp;
"Thank you." nbsp;Joseph smiled bitterly.
nbsp;
Joseph took out his phone and found Cassie's Facebook; there was no message from Cassie, no phone number.
nbsp;
Joseph wanted to type, to ask Cassie, but thinking of Megan's determined look, his heart felt tired again, and he stopped.
nbsp;
In the evening,
nbsp;
Wyatt brought news, he glanced at Michael and Lucas, hesitated.
nbsp;
"Say it, Michael and Lucas can be trusted," Joseph said calmly.
nbsp;
"These are Megan's kidnappers." Wyatt took out a photo and handed it over.
nbsp;
Joseph took a look but was shocked. He never expected the kidnapper to be a young man in his twenties. Despite the multiple injuries on his face, it was clear he had a handsome and roguish appearance.
nbsp;
"We found his Passport. He's not from Madison, and he's from Avaloria. His name is Anthony. He returned to the country less than three months ago, and the person who sponsored his entry into Madison is... Cassie," nbsp;Wyatt stated.
nbsp;
Joseph was shocked. His sturdy body seemed frozen.
nbsp;
"What are you saying? Cassie guaranteed his entry?" Michael clenched his fists in anger nbsp;and said, nbsp;"So, was Cassie behind the kidnapping yesterday too?"
nbsp;
"Impossible," Joseph interrupted sharply, squeezing the photo in his hand.
nbsp;
"I'm sure it's Cassie," Michael roared. nbsp;"Cassie has motives. She must hate Megan for saying she had a mental illness three years ago, and also hate Nathan for assaulting Laura back then but being acquitted because of Megan and Nathan. Also, Megan took your heart from her back then; she has been holding a grudge."
nbsp;
"Shut up," Joseph glared at Michael darkly nbsp;and shouted.
nbsp;
Lucas looked at Michael and Joseph sternly. nbsp;"Both of you calm down. Can we let Wyatt finish?"
nbsp;
Wyatt said, "Mr. Hernandez, do you remember a few days ago when reporters captured Cassie and a stranger drinking in a bar?"
nbsp;
"I do," Joseph said angrily, and he would never forget that incident. "Are you saying that man was Anthony?"
nbsp;
"This is a photo from the bar at that time, and you can compare." Wyatt handed over another photo, "Although it was a shot from behind, the man's hairstyle and the ear stud style on the left ear are exactly the same as Anthony's."
