Chapter 951 Joseph Wants to See You

David took a sip of water, hiding the darkness in his eyes.

When he looked up again, his eyes were full of softness and pain. "Cassie, did you willingly have a relationship with Joseph?"

"Of course not," Cassie denied immediately.

"Got it." David gently held her hand. "Cassie, I once read a story. If a woman is kidnapped by a criminal, as her husband, would you want her to resist with her life or comply to save her life? If it were me, I'd choose the latter. Nothing is more important than my wife's safety."

"David," Cassie's heart trembled, and her eyes reddened.

"I don't think a woman has to be a virgin. I knew that when I married you," David said. "Joseph took you. I don't blame you; I blame myself for being incompetent. I didn't even dare to call the police for our family's safety. Honestly, these days, I've been anxious too. I was afraid you'd come back and despise me."

"No." Cassie shook her head. "If it were me, I might have done the same. It's Joseph who's despicable."

"Yes, Joseph is very despicable. He forced you, thinking that even if I brought you back, I'd abandon you. But Joseph didn't expect that I love you more than anything. I accepted your child back then, and this time, I want you to come back."

Pain surged in David's eyes. "Cassie, why is it so hard for us to be together? After everything we've been through, I finally got you to agree to marry me, and then this happened. If you really feel guilty towards me, please make it up to me in the future, okay?"

Cassie felt increasingly moved as she listened.

On the way back, she had made up her mind to divorce David, but now, after hearing his words, she hesitated once more.

David was clearly in love with her. If she went through with the divorce, it would cause him pain and play directly into Joseph's scheme.

"Don't overthink it." David gently hugged her. "I won't stay here tonight. You just got back, and your mind might still be a mess. Take these two days to rest and handle the Peace Group's matters. I'll come to pick you up in a couple of days at our villa."

"Okay." Cassie finally nodded. David's departure tonight indeed gave her a sigh of relief, and she was very grateful for his understanding.

She had just slept with Joseph the day before yesterday, and now sleeping with David tonight made her feel very awkward.

After David drove away from the Chapman family villa, his gentle and elegant face gradually turned cold and sinister.

Cassie desired a divorce, but David was unwilling to agree. Furthermore, he didn't believe Cassie's lack of consent. In the video Joseph had sent, her voice sounded seductive, showing no signs of reluctance.

David was determined to erase this disgrace step by step.

Back at the villa, Lola, a woman in a rose-red nightgown, sensually wrapped her arms around David's. "Mr. Foster, I thought you wouldn't return."

"I was always going to come back." David glanced at Lola's enticing figure. Although she lacked the beauty and grace of Cassie, Lola was compliant and constantly sought to please him, which satisfied him.

"Cassie has returned." Lola rested on David's shoulder, softly caressing his chest and pouting. "I was worried you would go to her. After all, she is your wife, but..."

"But what?" David squinted his eyes.

Lola pretended to be afraid and whispered, "But according to the gossip in the company, Cassie has been gone for so long. Could she be pregnant with Joseph's child?"

David forcefully grabbed Lola's chin, his face turning slightly ferocious. "Lola, I didn't expect you to become so cunning in front of me."

Lola was startled and shivered. "Mr. Foster, I'm just... stating the facts."

"It is indeed a fact, but coming to me with it changes the nature of it." David sneered coldly.

Lola's face turned pale. She didn't expect David to be so rational, almost like a demon.

Others didn't know, but as David's secretary, Lola was clear about his close cooperation with the Chamberlain family. David, like Marcus, was unfathomable.

"Behave yourself and just do your job. Don't play tricks with me." David patted Lola's face. "If you behave, I can give you a chance to have a child. Although you can't be my wife, I'll give you everything you deserve in this life."

"Thank you, Mr. Foster." Lola was overjoyed.

Although she didn't expect to marry David, Lola wanted his power.

"Then serve me well tonight," David said, then carried Lola upstairs.

David was filled with rage thinking about Cassie on the island today; he was jealous. However, he had to endure it to maintain a gentleman's demeanor outwardly. Now that he no longer needed to hide it, he vented everything out.

Afterward, Lola lay on the other side of the bed like a deflated balloon. Tonight, David was as terrifying as on their wedding night. She felt like a mere tool for venting.

But when she saw David leaning against the headboard smoking, the allure he exuded made her breathless.

"David," she cooed, snuggling up to him.

David didn't push her away but looked down at her. "Move out tomorrow and have someone clean this place. Cassie will be moving in a couple of days."

"Okay." Lola felt a bit smug. She didn't expect David to let Cassie come to this villa.

She thought to herself, 'For the past month, I've been with David here every day. Cassie, even though you're rich, you'll still be sleeping with a man I slept with in a bed I used.'

In a five-star hotel.

Liam woke up with a hangover, his head throbbing. He couldn't understand how he ended up here when he was drinking in a restaurant last night. He pondered, 'Who brought me here?'

Just as he was about to take out his phone to check, the door was suddenly kicked open.

Wyatt barged in with two men. "Liam, Joseph wants to see you."

Liam's handsome face turned sullen, and he sneered. "If I go, I won't come back in one piece."
