Chapter 21 Nanny

Joseph furrowed his brow, thinking, 'How could Cassie be so dense?'

"The doctor said Dakota needs rest. Its diet and lifestyle need to be carefully managed. If you really feel guilty, take good care of its meals for the next few days. No more greasy food, and prepare some high-nutrition, easily digestible fresh food." Joseph's shamelessness choked Noah. Clearly, he just wanted a free and pretty babysitter.

Cassie hesitated and asked tentatively, "You mean I can move back in?"

Joseph reminded her coolly, "Forget about any other plans you had. From now on, your job is to be Dakota's babysitter."

"Sure, no problem," Cassie said, her eyes lighting up with excitement.

A hint of satisfaction flashed in Joseph's eyes. It was a win-win; he didn't have to apologize for last night, and Dakota had a babysitter.

After the meal, Noah went to pay the bill, and Cassie stood next to Joseph.

A card was suddenly tossed into her hands. "Go to the supermarket later and buy some ingredients for Dakota's dinner."

"What does it eat?" Cassie asked, bewildered. She had never taken care of a cat before.

Joseph looked at her disdainfully. "I already told you: nutritious, clean, and fresh."

"I got it. Are you coming back tonight? What do you want to eat? I'll make it for you," Cassie said.

"Whatever," Joseph replied and left with Noah.

Watching them leave, Laura chuckled. "I wonder how much is on that card. With it, you shouldn't be so strapped for cash, right?"

"I have no idea, but I won't misuse it," Cassie said, shaking her head. "I still need to find a job quickly."

"Alright then, good luck. Since you're okay now, I'm off to be with Benjamin. He's picking me up."

After Laura got into her boyfriend Benjamin Hayes's car, Cassie walked towards her own car.

However, when she saw Arthur leaning against her car door, her heart sank.

"Did Olivia tell you I was here?" she asked, looking up to meet Arthur's gaze.

Arthur's eyes were filled with disappointment. "Cassie, how could you do this to Olivia?"

Cassie was slightly taken aback and then smiled knowingly. "What did she tell you?"

"Does she even need to say anything? Someone posted about what happened today on social media." Arthur's tone was accusatory. "You tore Olivia's dress, left her in a mess, and got her thrown out of Citrus Diner—not just her but also Charlotte and your friend Sarah. Your behavior was so atrocious it's beyond words," Arthur sneered.

Cassie felt a chill in her heart. Arthur had once showered her with sweet words, but now she just wanted to slap him.

"Yes, I'm terrible. Are you trying to avenge Olivia?"

"You still don't see your mistake," Arthur said angrily. "Robert and Helen are unhappy with you. Everyone says you're narrow-minded and petty. Why can't you control yourself a bit?"

"Yes, I am narrow-minded and petty," Cassie admitted.

"Cassie!" Arthur couldn't take it anymore and punched the car. "You've really disappointed me. I'm enduring all this for our future, hoping to take control of the Lewis Group soon. But what about you? You left Height Architectural Decoration Company, became unemployed, and now you don't even care about your reputation. Can you at least try a little?"

"I am trying."
