"Cassie!" Joseph interrupted Cassie angrily, his handsome face turning red with embarrassment. "Stop bringing up me and Megan all the time."

"No, I want to talk about it. I care." Cassie wrapped her arms around Joseph's neck. "Who's more attractive, me or Megan? If you don't give me an answer today, I won't let this go."

Joseph felt a headache coming on. He wanted to get angry, to show his frustration, but even when Cassie was being unreasonable, she was still so charming that he couldn't bring himself to be harsh.

"Is it that hard to answer? I know you must have had a lot of intimacy nbsp;with Megan, too. I'm done with you." Cassie pretended to be angry as she pushed Joseph away and got up to leave.

Joseph panicked and quickly hugged Cassie from behind. "Honey, I'll answer you. The truth is... I've never been intimate with Megan."

Shocked, Cassie turned back to look at Joseph in disbelief. "Don't lie to me. You used to like Megan so much. How could you not have been involved with her? Joseph, your lie is too fake."

"I'm not lying to you," Joseph said with a bitter smile. "Every time I tried to get close to Megan, I felt sick to my stomach and even threw up a few times. Last time when I lost control and came to you, it wasn't because of someone else; it was something Megan did to me, but it didn't work; I threw up."

Cassie was stunned. She had been testing him, but she hadn't expected Athena's words to be true.

"Didn't you go to the urology department last time?" Joseph helplessly grabbed Cassie's hand. "I thought there was something wrong with me, but when we were together, everything was normal. I thought it was just with Megan, so I tried with a few other women, and I felt like throwing up, too."

"You tried with other women?" Cassie's eyes widened.

"That was to understand my condition. I never intended to be with them. Don't misunderstand, my private life is very clean," Joseph quickly explained.

"Why didn't you tell me before?" Cassie pulled her hand back. "Are you with me just because I can fulfill your needs?"

"I didn't say anything because I was afraid you would think that way," nbsp;Joseph spoke softly.

"I want to be with you because I like you and love you. Just being with you gives me a sense of home. When I'm alone, I constantly think of you. Even during meetings, I can't help but check my phone frequently, afraid of missing your messages. I've never become like this because of anyone else. This is how I show my love for you," nbsp;he then continued.

Cassie's heart couldn't help but beat faster.

She knew she approached Joseph with ulterior motives, yet she was still affected by him.

"Cassie, stop overthinking, okay? I love you, without a doubt," nbsp;he stated.
nbsp;
Joseph gently turned Cassie's face and affectionately kissed her.
nbsp;
"Oh, by the way, Megan went to the hospital for artificial insemination a few days ago, did you?" nbsp;she asked.
nbsp;
"No, I just accompanied Megan for two physical examinations. I didn't agree to anything. Megan won't have a child," Joseph vaguely said as he kissed Cassie.

Cassie didn't say anything more, just hugged Joseph.

So be it. Even if there were ulterior motives, she'd cherish each day together. The future could wait.

Suddenly, Joseph's phone rang.

Joseph didn't answer until the phone kept ringing persistently. He picked up the phone with a hint of annoyance. "Michael, are you out of your mind?"

"You're insane, Joseph. How dare you go on a trip with Cassie while Megan is in trouble." Michael's furious voice came through the phone. "Megan has been kidnapped."

Joseph's eyes turned crimson with anger. "What's going on?"
