Chapter 1582 The Revenge Begins
"You are right." Derek was very pleased.
Derek clearly understood that from now on, Michael was completely out of Laura's world.
So what if Michael was Maeve's father?
After ending the call, Derek held a glass of wine, looked at the bright moon outside the window, and said, "Michael, don't blame me, you brought this on yourself."
Derek knew very well that Michael would come today, so he specifically asked Arabella to keep an eye out.
Sure enough, Michael's actions were always more surprising each time.
Originally, Derek hadn't needed to tell Laura these things.
But by telling her, Laura would feel even more disgusted with Michael.
Even for Maeve's sake, Laura would not leave Michael any chance.
What Derek needed to do was to completely sever the relationship between Laura and Michael, so that even if Michael regretted it in the future, it would be too late.
On the same night, at the Hernandez House, Cassie lazily leaned on the balcony, holding a phone in her hand. "Everett, you can arrange for your friend to return to the country now, everything is almost ready."
"It's just a woman, just a piece of cake for me," Everett said disdainfully.
"Death is sometimes a relief," Cassie said nonchalantly, "I prefer to watch Megan slowly suffer, and nobody will find out it's all my doing."
"You're really sinister," Everett said with a laugh. "Alright, I'll arrange for Landon to come over."
After ending the call, a long arm wrapped dominantly around Cassie's sexy body from behind.
"Cassie, it's a lucky that I'm behaving myself every day now, otherwise, if I have offended you, I wouldn't know how I'd survive," Joseph's voice came from above her head. After he finished speaking, he turned her around and kissed her on the forehead.
"Good that you know," Cassie looked up into Joseph's eyes, smiling as she wrapped her arms around his neck. "I've never been a soft-hearted woman."
"I understand, and I'm grateful you forgave me back then and gave me a second chance," Joseph hugged her tightly. "Cassie, I was really stupid before, I made a lot of mistakes. I shouldn't have been so soft on Megan after we started dating. A married man should keep his distance from other women, otherwise, Megan wouldn't have had the chance."
"You should be thankful that at least during the years I was absent, you didn't sleep with Megan or marry her, otherwise, I wouldn't have given you any chance at all," Cassie pinched his waist angrily. "I'm warning you, don't go tipping off Michael about my plan."
"If you don't want me to say anything, I definitely won't. I'm not that stupid. You and the kids are the most important to me," Joseph said, his eyes darkening. "Besides, Megan hurt you and the kids so cruelly back then, your revenge on her is completely justified."
"Yes, it's not just for myself, but also for Laura and Nina. I can't just let it go," Cassie's eyes turned cold. "Since Michael has decided to stand in front of Megan, I can only erase him."
A week later, Megan was discharged from the hospital.
Since she had admitted, Michael only stayed at the hospital on the first day and hardly came afterward, only having a maid accompany her, which made Megan increasingly irritable.
After returning to the villa, Michael still didn't come back, always avoiding her and having the maid remind her to take her depression medication on time.
When Megan went to his office, he wasn't there either, and he always said he was busy when she called.
At home, Megan threw tantrums every day and sometimes even the maid couldn't stand it. If it weren't for the high salary, she would have quit.
However, Megan didn't dare to lose her temper at Michael anymore.
Megan wasn't stupid; she could tell that Michael wasn't indulging her like before because he knew her injury wasn't caused by Laura and had nothing to do with him, so he didn't feel as guilty anymore.
If Megan caused trouble with Michael now, she might lose even the little affection he had left, and he might divorce her.
If she really left Michael, she would have nothing.
Thinking about that Michael had started to despise her, Megan regretted it deeply.
She shouldn't have come back, but she had no choice now.
With Michael not coming home and unable to abuse animals, Megan couldn't stand it and could only go shopping constantly.
One day at the mall, while the maid was pushing Megan around, a man occasionally bumped into Megan.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to. Are you okay?" the man apologized hurriedly.
Megan, who was suppressing a great anger, was about to explode until she noticed the sapphire watch on the man's wrist. It was a special limited edition Patek Philippe released two years ago, with only three in the world, priced at five million dollars. For the wealthy, the price was secondary; the rarity was that it couldn't be bought just with money.
Megan knew this because she had wanted to buy it for Joseph but couldn't get it, and Joseph had comforted her afterward.
She didn't expect to see this watch on the man in front of her, whcih meant the man in front of her was definitely of significant wealth and status.
In that instant, Megan quickly came up with a plan.
She clutched her knees in pain, her face showing a pained expression. "My foot."
"What's wrong with your foot?" the man panicked.
The maid behind her also got anxious. "How could you walk like that? Her foot has been injuried before, and if there's a problem now..."
"Vivienne, stop talking," Megan interrupted the maid, Vivienne Mae, worrying she would say something arrogant and offend the man. She quickly put on a weak and unwilling-to-trouble-him look.
"Sorry, I'll take you to the hospital right away." The man said, hurriedly picking Megan up and running towards the elevator.
"Wait for me," Vivienne said, scrambling to catch up.
Megan secretly looked up at the man holding her, studying his appearance.
He was young and handsome, tall and muscular, with blonde hair, a high nose bridge, and honest-looking eyes.
His clothes were also expensive. He wasn't wearing a wedding ring, so he probably wasn't married.
Even if he was, Megan wouldn't care.
